Look no further than Happy Tails Dog Park, a beloved local spot where dogs of all sizes can enjoy off-leash fun in a well-maintained environment. This park has quickly become a favorite among local pet owners, offering a vibrant community hub where both dogs and their humans can thrive.
Happy Tails Dog Park is designed with your furry friend's happiness in mind, providing ample space and thoughtful amenities that make every visit a joy. Whether your dog loves to sprint across open fields, practice their agility skills, or simply meet new friends, Happy Tails offers the perfect setting. It’s a testament to the City of Moore's commitment to providing excellent recreational facilities for all its residents, including those with four legs.
Happy Tails Dog Park is conveniently located at 1903 NE 12th St, Moore, OK 73160, USA. Its position in Moore makes it easily accessible for residents from various parts of the city and even neighboring communities. The park is part of a larger recreational area, providing a pleasant setting for a visit.
Accessibility is a key feature of Happy Tails. The park boasts a large, adjacent parking lot, making it hassle-free to bring your dog to and from the play areas. This ease of access is particularly appreciated on weekends, when the park tends to be more populated, as noted by enthusiastic visitors. Its central location within Moore means you're never too far from giving your dog the exercise and social interaction they crave. Whether you're coming from work or just looking for a fun weekend outing, Happy Tails Dog Park is a convenient destination.
Happy Tails Dog Park goes beyond simply offering an open space. It provides a range of services and amenities specifically designed to enhance the experience for both dogs and their owners, promoting safety, cleanliness, and fun.
- Dedicated Off-Leash Areas: The park features multiple spacious, fenced-in areas for off-leash play. This allows dogs to run, chase, and explore freely.
- Size-Specific Dog Parks: A major highlight, as frequently praised by visitors, is the thoughtful separation of play areas. Happy Tails includes:
- Two large dog parks for bigger breeds and more energetic play.
- One small dog park specifically for smaller dogs (typically under 30 pounds), ensuring a safer and more comfortable environment for them.
- Waste Disposal Stations: Numerous trash cans and waste bag dispensers are available throughout the park, making it easy and convenient for owners to clean up after their pets. This helps maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the park.
- Water Fountains: Essential for keeping dogs hydrated, water fountains are provided for both dogs and their human companions.
- Restrooms: For the convenience of human visitors, a restroom facility is available on-site.
What truly sets Happy Tails Dog Park apart are its thoughtful features and highlights that cater to the diverse needs of dogs and their owners. These elements contribute to making it a top-tier dog park in the Moore area.
- Agility Equipment: For dogs that love a challenge or are in training, the park is equipped with various agility features. This provides an excellent opportunity for physical and mental stimulation, helping dogs stay fit and engaged.
- Ample Shade: Recognizing Oklahoma's warm climate, Happy Tails Dog Park offers significant shade, thanks to numerous trees and a permanent shaded pavilion. This is a crucial feature that allows dogs and owners to stay comfortable, even on sunny days.
- Walking Paths Around the Park: For owners who prefer to walk alongside the fence or if their dog isn't overly social, there are paths that allow you to walk around the perimeter of the dog park. This flexibility caters to different dog temperaments and exercise needs.
- Double Gate Entry System: For enhanced safety, the park utilizes a double gate entry system, preventing dogs from accidentally escaping when people enter or exit the fenced areas.
- Community Atmosphere: On weekends, the park becomes a lively and well-populated hub, described by visitors as "populated but in a good way." This vibrant atmosphere allows dogs to socialize extensively and owners to connect with fellow dog enthusiasts.
- Pea Gravel Surface: While not universally loved, the park uses pea gravel as a ground cover in some areas. This can be easier to clean and manage than natural turf in high-traffic areas, contributing to overall cleanliness.
As a public park operated by the City of Moore Parks & Recreation, Happy Tails Dog Park does not typically offer specific promotions or special offers in the traditional commercial sense. It is a free public park designed for the enjoyment of all residents and their pets. However, the "special offer" here is the accessibility of a high-quality, well-maintained, and free recreational facility. Local communities often host dog-related events or adoption drives, and sometimes these might take place at local dog parks, including Happy Tails. It is advisable to check the City of Moore Parks & Recreation website or local community boards for any upcoming pet-friendly events that might be hosted at or near the park.

Happy Tails Dog Park is an undeniable asset for dog owners in Moore and the wider Oklahoma City metropolitan area. Its suitability for locals stems from several key factors that directly address the needs and desires of pet parents. The provision of separate areas for large and small dogs is a critical safety feature, ensuring that dogs can play comfortably with appropriate companions. This thoughtful design minimizes potential conflicts and allows even the most boisterous dogs, like a 120lbs+ Cane Corso, to enjoy themselves without overwhelming smaller, more timid park-goers, as long as the relevant large dog areas are open.
The consistent availability of essential amenities like waste disposal stations, water fountains, shade, and restrooms significantly enhances the user experience, making visits convenient and pleasant. Furthermore, the presence of agility equipment offers a stimulating environment, going beyond just a basic running space. The park's vibrant community feel on weekends, described as "populated but in a good way," means that locals have a reliable place to socialize their dogs and connect with other pet enthusiasts. Happy Tails Dog Park truly stands out as a well-rounded, community-focused facility that meets the high standards and diverse needs of Moore's dog-loving population, solidifying its reputation as "my dogs favorite place."

Apr 22, 2025 · ChikaA very nice area for dogs and I like how the areas are gated off by size of dogs. The only concern I had is the large dog area was closed and it only had an area open for all dogs and small size. My 120lbs + Cane is a bull at full speed always so I would not want to put him in with smaller dogs. His sisters, an 8yo Rott and 3yo Pitt can barely handle his roughness. We went there to meet him so he is a year old in training.
Jun 01, 2025 · Angie GossettGreat experience. I took my mini schnauzer to the park to get some socialization with other dogs. Everyone there was super friendly, Me and Oliver had a great time, and we will definitely go back.
May 05, 2025 · robert 2112Great layout. Clean areas and plenty of space for dogs to explore safely.
