Great dog park and spacious. Was expecting longer trails, but has nice dog park and kids playground along with a decent wooded area. Nice place to relax if your nearby and local, otherwise there are some nicer places if you are willing to take the drive.

Welcome to Wiggly Field

For dog owners in Del City, Oklahoma, and the surrounding areas, finding a safe, spacious, and engaging environment for your canine companion to stretch their legs and socialize is a top priority. Look no further than Wiggly Field, a popular and well-regarded dog park located within Ray Trent Park. This dedicated off-leash facility offers a fantastic opportunity for dogs to enjoy freedom, exercise, and interaction with other pups, all while providing peace of mind for their human guardians.

Wiggly Field is more than just a fenced-in area; it's a community hub where local pet owners can connect and their dogs can thrive. Designed with both canine and human needs in mind, the park provides a refreshing escape from the daily routine, allowing your furry family members to unleash their energy in a secure and stimulating setting. It’s a testament to Del City's commitment to providing excellent recreational spaces for all its residents, including those with four paws.

Location and Accessibility

Wiggly Field is conveniently situated at 4505 Tinker Diagonal St, Del City, OK 73115, USA. Its location within the larger Ray Trent Park makes it an easily identifiable and accessible destination for residents of Del City and neighboring communities. The park's proximity to major thoroughfares, including I-40, means it's also a practical stop for those traveling through the area who need a place for their dogs to burn off some steam.

One of the significant advantages of Wiggly Field is its ample parking. Visitors consistently note that there is plenty of parking available, making arrival and departure hassle-free. A paved walk leads directly from the parking area to the fenced dog areas, ensuring easy access for all. While some highway traffic noise might be audible due to its location, it generally doesn't detract from the overall peaceful and quiet atmosphere of the park, especially during off-peak hours like a Monday afternoon.

Services Offered

Wiggly Field provides a range of essential services and amenities that cater to the needs of both dogs and their owners, ensuring a comfortable, clean, and enjoyable experience for everyone.

  • Separate Dog Play Areas: A key feature of Wiggly Field is its thoughtful division into designated areas based on dog size. The park offers:
    • A spacious area specifically for large dogs, providing ample room for them to run and play.
    • A separate, equally accommodating area for small dogs, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for smaller breeds (typically dogs 30 pounds or less; handicapped or elderly larger dogs are also permitted here).
This separation helps prevent potential conflicts and allows dogs to play with companions of similar size and energy levels.
  • Water Fountains: Functional water fountains are available within the dog park areas, including the small dog section, providing crucial hydration for pets. It’s always a good idea to confirm if they are operational, especially during colder months when water might be shut off to prevent freezing.
  • Waste Disposal Stations: To maintain cleanliness, doggie poop bag stations and trash cans are readily available throughout the park. This encourages responsible pet ownership and helps keep the grounds tidy for all visitors.
  • Seating: For the comfort of human companions, the park provides metal benches within both the small and large dog areas, allowing owners to relax while their dogs play.
  • Restrooms: For human convenience, restrooms are available at Ray Trent Park, typically open from mid-April to October.
Features / Highlights

Wiggly Field stands out with several features and highlights that contribute to its appeal as a premier dog park in the Del City area.

  • Spacious Layout: The park is notably spacious, offering plenty of room for dogs to run, chase, and explore freely. This generous space is a significant advantage, particularly for energetic breeds.
  • Agility Equipment: The park is equipped with various agility obstacles and play equipment, providing mental and physical stimulation for dogs. This can include items like jumps, tunnels, or ramps, enhancing the play experience.
  • Paved Walking Trails: Beyond the fenced dog park, Ray Trent Park features paved walking trails that go past the dog fenced area. While not within the off-leash section, these trails offer a pleasant option for a leashed walk before or after dog park play, or for those who prefer to walk their dog while observing the dog park activity.
  • Kids' Playground Nearby: For families with both dogs and children, the proximity of a kids' playground within Ray Trent Park makes Wiggly Field a convenient destination for the whole family.
  • Secure Double Gate Entry: For added safety, the park utilizes a double gate entry system for the fenced areas, ensuring that dogs cannot accidentally slip out when others are entering or exiting.
  • Well-Maintained and Clean: Despite some initial impressions near the parking area (as noted in one review), the fenced dog park areas themselves are generally described as "very clean well kept." This commitment to maintenance contributes significantly to a positive user experience.
Promotions or Special Offers

As a public park managed by the City of Del City Parks & Recreation Department, Wiggly Field typically does not have ongoing commercial promotions or special offers. Access to the park is generally free for all visitors. The primary "offer" is the provision of a free, well-maintained, and secure environment for dogs to exercise and socialize. However, the City of Del City Parks & Recreation may host various community events throughout the year, some of which might be pet-friendly or held at Ray Trent Park. It's always a good idea for locals to check the official City of Del City website or their Parks & Recreation social media channels for announcements regarding any special events, pet-related initiatives, or seasonal activities that might take place at or near Wiggly Field.

First thing out of the car is a used condom on ground in front of my car. Avoiding that the rest of the walk to dog park fenced area and dog area seemed very clean well kept. There were a few areas cld use a little repair w wire to keep little dogs in. There are seperate areas for large or small dogs. Water fountain inside the lil dog area is on and works! There are doggie poop bag stations. Not sure if had some..I brought my own. Both areas for little and large dogs have a nice amount of room to run. There isnt really any shade to sit. A few little trees cld help if u bring a chair. Two metal benches on lil dog side, looks like 3 benches on large dog area. Very quiet, peaceful for Monday after 5 pm. There is plenty of parking. Paved walk all way to dog areas. Looks like a paved walking trail goes past dog fenced area. Highway traffice noise.
