Normally, I would be putting five stars as I’ve shopped bought and absolutely loved the wet spot. Whenever I go to expose or talk with people, whatever it may be, I always tell them the good experiences I have with the store staff etc. Unfortunately, I purchased a fire reel about a day ago that looked to be healthy but had a white spot on its face. I didn’t think much of it but in the last 24 to 48 hours the eels face has completely rotted/melted. You is absolutely horrific and in the 15 years of keeping fish breeding and rescuing. I’ve never seen anything like it. The closest I could describe was HITH in Oscar’s, but it’s not holes just start as a white spot grew over a few hours then go worse and eventually ate the fire eels face. I’ve reached out now but for some reason I keep getting sent to voicemail whenever I call the store. I’ve sent an email now I have pictures which I’m attaching below. I don’t wanna attack the wet spot, but I don’t think this is my fault and I really think it needs to be resolved. Not only did I quarantine, but I acclimated for nearly 3-4 hours. I ended up preaching the fish around 4 o’clock. So by the time everything had transpired the next morning, I tried to call, but I was busy with work, so I’m not able to head into the store, I called but no answer. I’ve taken the whole day off today to try and figure this out I called now four times and still have not been able to get through to anyone. My next step is to drive there. I just don’t want to Drive there and have them tell me they can’t do anything for me.. like I said, I’ve got a lot of tanks running plus a 20,000 gallon pond I do a lot the community/industry. This is not all my passion, but my livelihood. Don’t get me wrong. I’ve lost fish before I’ve made mistakes, but I’m the type of person to own up to my mistakes and accept it. I wouldn’t risk my interest etc over a $30-$40 fire eel. I have pictures and videos from the minute I got home with time stamps, as well as the death with time stamps. Hope to hear something soon before I have to drive all the way there. Thanks…

Feb 08, 2025 · David WooledgeMy mother had been wanting to go to this place for a very long time. She worked in a pet store fish department and had heard about how amazing it was, so we took the 4 1/2 hr drive. It was a little bit hard to find. It looked from the outside like a hole in the wall. Inside it's very warm and rather humid. But when I started looking around, I was actually impressed. There were so many tanks with so many different kinds of fish and plants, and the display tanks were nothing short of award worthy. The prices seemed a bit high, but honestly I can see why. With that many tanks- I didn't count but I would estimate close to 150? Maybe more... Not one tank was dirty and none of the fish looked stressed or unhealthy at all. The water test station was tidy and organized, and I have to point out the tanks are not on a single water system, (a no-no that a lot of places do) meaning each tank had its own chemistry going on. And the staff was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. We will be making that trip again!
Jul 09, 2024 · CalainaOK, this place IS all it is cracked up to be. My wife and I are new to the hobby and walked in here with ZERO knowledge. The staff here is what customer service is defined as. We picked out our first 4 fish and 30 live plants and are on our way. We will only be shopping here for our fish needs. Thank you team for all the help, knowledge, understanding and most of all, patience. 😂
Oct 27, 2024 · Jacob DaughertyI live in Arkansas and have ordered fish and shrimp to be shipped from The Wet Spot in Oregon several times over the years. My most recent order of 16 cardinal tetras, 12 kuhlii loaches, and 3 Amano shrimp arrived Friday, all alive and well. I drip acclimated the fish for an hour and the shrimp for three hours. Two days later, all are still doing well. Thanks to The Wet Spot for their excellent packaging and customer service. Highly recommend.
Feb 02, 2025 · Rebecca McDonaldJust got these beauties for my future African biotope. All fish arrived very healthy and in perfect condition. Not to mention the excellent service and very fast shipping. Will be ordering from Wet Spot again without a doubt. 15/10 recommend.
