I heard wonderful things about this breeder—from a lovely couple— while I was in a pet store looking at birds… so I reached out instead of making a rash decision at a pet store. The pet store workers could not tell me if their birds were hand fed, what gender they were, when they were born etc… so I reached out to the purple parrot and I have absolutely no regrets, and I am thankful for the couple that recommended the purple parrot. The purple parrot was always friendly and would always respond in an appropriate amount of time. They helped guide me with toys, food, cages, household safety, the list goes on. The purple parrot kept me informed From the moment my baby cockatiel hatched, they provided me with pictures and updates on her progress. She is such a sweet birdy. I met them in a public agreed upon location and they had her in a small travel cage with a toy, some homemade chop, some pellets, and some seeds. They gave me detailed instructions on how to care for cookie bird. They told me not to be shy and no question is a stupid question. They encouraged me to reach out about any concerns or advice. I have reached out several times and they always respond with wonderful tips and helped alleviate any concerns I may have had . The purple parrot is amazing, I had to drive 3hrs each way and it was worth it. The drive was worth it, the wait was worth it, the price is affordable, and the bird is healthy. Everything is better than what a pet store could offer. If you are thinking about a pet bird, please reach out to the purple parrot. You get way more than what a pet store can offer at a far better price. 10/10.

I have been a “bird guy” for 40 years, living in Florida and Southern California. Two years ago, I moved to West Virginia and after a year, realized I needed a bird (or two) in my life. After searching around the state, I found The Purple Parrot and am sure glad I did! I purchased a gorgeous hand fed, on site bred Pineapple conure that is as sweet as any bird I have ever owned. Colleen, the owner, is not only a knowledgeable pro who personally oversees her birds from egg to departure, but also a delight to work with. My bird, Harvey, came in a reusable little cage, with a toy and good supply of food. And get this - he was at least $300 cheaper than any conure I’ve seen in stores! I have already been back to The Purple Parrot and purchased a sweet, pretty baby Rainbow Budgie. I took Harvey along for an expert nail and feather trim from Colleen. OK so you get the picture: The Purple Parrot is a top notch aviary, store and great spot to find your new special feathered friend. It has earned my highest recommendation! Pretty sure I’ll be adding a third bird out of Colleen’s amazing selection. Bird love abounds! Griz

I bought 3 sweet little budgies from the purple parrot. Colleen met me with the birds and added in seeds, toys and bird safe wax tarts! She took the time to answer all of my questions ( while standing out in the cold!) They are pretty tame and have settled in nicely. I would definitely buy from this aviary again.

I'm absolutely in love with my beautiful new baby Kiwi. He is so healthy and friendly, I couldn't have asked for anything better than the service i got. Very friendly and knowledgeable about parrots. I can't say enough good things about the experience i had. Thanks so much.

If you’re looking to get a bird I highly recommend the Purple Parrot, you can tell they really take care and pride in their birds. The parakeet we got for our grandma came right out of the cage to her and we’re all in love with it !!
