Rainforest Pet Store

This place sells animals that are sick and dying from infectious diseases. Unfortunately my girlfriend bought a snake from them and low and behold, it tested positive for a deadly virus that's known to take out whole snake collections. The owners admitted they did not quarantine it. They would not tell her where or who it came from and they basically ghosted on her once they got the money for the snake. Zero post sale support. My girlfriend kept it isolated, thankfully but still had to spend a lot of money getting her other snakes all tested and in the end had their snake less then two months. She had to have it euthanized to protect the rest of the collection. No refund or replacement was offered. No apology. Nothing. Also our friend bought a leopard gecko and it died within weeks. This place is really awful, they do not care about the animals they sell or the people who buy them.

To the owners of Rainforest Pet Store, you know EXACTLY why I'm leaving one star and would leave zero if I could! The way you guys did me, a regular customer who was in the store 2-3 times per week? It's more then wrong, it's completely unacceptable, professionally and ethically. Reptile community, you would do well to steer clear of this establishment altogether. They act as if they know it all when it comes to husbandry, when in reality most of what they say is just them attempting to make a sale. Most of their animals come from backyard breeders & online wholesalers. They do not quarantine new arrivals and yes they sell sick, dying reptiles that have contagious diseases. I know of several people who have got animals from here, myself included, only to have the animals die soon after purchase. Thom, Jo, you guys should be ashamed, honestly.

I love Thom and Jo! I come here every chance I get for feeder insects, turtles and knowledge! Thank you so much for growing our family one reptile at a time.

Jo is so very knowledgeable about Bearded Dragons and has some wonderfully sweet and attractive ones available for good prices! Check out their gorgeous baby turtles, especially the snapping turtles - they LOVE human affection and attention! They also carry a beautiful array of selective Betta fish for sale. Always a great place to stop in and visit for dragon needs and such!

I typically dont leave reviews but I want to praise this small store for its beauty and dedication. I am someone who loves the animal world to its fullest and when I discovered this store a while back it was quite intriguing. Not only are the animals well cared for, but the owner is beyond amazing. She is knowledgeable and takes care of the animals in the proper way. Yes, some of the setups are most likely temporary for the businesses sake considering the flea market does close during the week, but the animals are happy and healthy, and that is something I think is much needed sometimes in the animal sale world. I purchased a betta there not too long ago and he is flourishing beautifully. When getting him he was healthy and was of breeding grade which is not typically cheap in the animal world and I got him for a lesser price than any pet store selling exotic or breeding grade betta. I will definitely be visiting again next time I'm in town!
