Mar 31, 2025 · Jo RThis place has employees with great attitude towards customers, lack of respect and knowledge in customer service,most of them act like they are the owners because they stared most of the time on their phones and the mobile racks full of merchandise boxes spend hours in the middle of the store for being unloaded and don’t give a …… about their responsibilities. I hope someone from Corporate Office will see this, look on the recording as well and send them to training or laid them off and hire competent employees. Not aware of what they offer, thinking about all kinds of excuses to bring up because they don’t know to apply a promotion 5$ off your service. The promotion is on for over a month! The first excuse from the shift manager was that they don’t offer that promotion in their store,even though it’s advertised with thousands of coupons all over the store! Really:)))) What a great excuse! And after few moments he found another explanation which he made it up, again, that the store during Happy Hours 2-6 pm cannot offer Mini Make Rover not even at regular price because each of those bundle services need to be paid separately and ring up around 40$, or I should leave and come back after 6 pm. This excuse made me frustrated and I told him to honor the price for the package if no other written exceptions are shown upfront to the customers. This is not fair business policy, especially because they advertise Happy Hour Promotion 2-6 pm for walk ins, including Mini Make Rover ,it’s on their website as well. There are law regulations regarding this matter. He also pulled out the advertising promotion poster next to groomers desk and the thumbtacks fell off on the floor, he not even bothered to pick them up, not even realizing that those can get between dogs paws when they approach the counter desk to be checked in or out, or to someone shoes.Anyway I ended up paying full price for a Mini Make Rover, which was supposed to be 17 at Happy Hour, for walk ins and paid 22.99 plus tax. In that service it’s included trimming and buffing of dog nails, ear cleaning, paws balm and spritz of spray on the fur. After paying and rushing to run another errand I checked my dog and her ears were not cleaned, no balm on paws and no spritz of dog spray on her fur. Really????? I don’t know what should I do about this situation! It’s ridiculous and frustrating to pay and not getting the service! I thought the Petco can do better than this, especially when you talk to a manager about it, they are there to solve problems, not to create them!

It is just ridiculous that she have never had a job so badly done. And I mean, I've been in several states with several people giving her okay, but this is totally ridiculous. Cadence you need to be retrained before you cut anyone's dog going forward
Feb 18, 2025 · Curtis JohnsonI had a return just after a purchase at the Whitestown, IN location. I tried to buy boots for my pup, as we hike about 5 times a week. I tried them on in the car, but they didn’t work. I took them right back in to return them. I actually tried another size, as the size chart on the back of the box was incorrect. I took them right back in, as well. As it turns out, the return button would not work for a refund. They wanted to give me store credit, which I did not want. I’ve rescued over 20 dogs, and I’ve spent A LOT on my animals, now and over the years. Therefore, I don’t usually go to the corporate stores, rather, I order online. Anyway, they didn’t offer me any other option, so I took the card. I immediately called customer service. The man clearly was not in the US. I’ve traveled to many countries, and I have no problem with this; however, his accent and understanding of me was somewhat a barrier. I explained my issue, and he kept assuring me that all returns can be made for a full refund within 30 days. I finally was able to get him to understand my issue. He then called the Whitestown store while I was on the phone. Some time later he came back on and told me that due to a computer glitch they could not offer me the refund. I told him I was aware of this, but this is not acceptable per their contractual obligation with customers. Also, I should not be forced to take store credit simply because they have a ‘computer glitch.’ The back of the receipt, their website, their verbal agreement, they all say a refund will be made if it is within 30 days. This had been all in a matter of about 15 minutes. Their policy also states that if there is not enough cash on hand, a corporate check will be issued. This should have been an option here, in my opinion. I work in management for a large retail corporation, and there are ways to assist customers. In giving me the only option of a gift card, this is like a bait and switch tactic. I don’t want to go back there, and now I won’t go back there. It’s not the issue of the $$, rather the principle. I’ve now sold the card (at a discount) to a friend who does frequent Petco. She knows I’m loyal to places I love and, also, she knows I will loyally avoid places I don’t believe handle customer service well. Now, this is no fault of the employees who work there. They were just doing the only they knew of at the time. She wasn’t sure what to do since the button would not activate. I believe they need to be trained to assist in other ways, such as issue a check for my refund. I called back later that day and got their voicemail. I asked for the District Manager to call me, but I’ve not heard a thing. Personally, I feel this is a class action lawsuit waiting to happen, as I’m sure I’m not the only one who has dealt with this. It absolutely annoys me when I feel corporations take advantage of the public. I refuse to be forced to shop somewhere simply because of a computer glitch. Even though I no longer have the card, I’m going to pursue this and get this out there as much as I can. As I mentioned, I won’t be taking me business to Petco again, but I sure hope others don’t run into the same situation. I’ll stress my feeling about it once again: a corporation shouldn’t have computer glitches to keep people from refunds, and they should have ways around it when they do, so they can take care of their customers.
