This place continues to use outdated technology to look up prices on its own website. The cashier made me look up items on my phone holding up customers waiting bc there was only one cashier and 5-7 people waiting. This particular cashier also didn’t know how to use the company app to help direct me to “Vital Care Rewards” (seriously their name for it), yet she could see that I had 10 dollars to use, but I hadn’t “loaded it” from my account that Petco company is prompting for me to use but not before not training her how to use the app, and also verify online pricing was cheaper by 13.00 for my (3) items! The cashier also would not look them up for me on their own internal system or in store device to verify!!! It was an embarrassing and slow experience that has me now considering just going to the closer Petsmart for my slugs needs over the next 12-15 years because they don’t train their people and/or listen to their customers about all problems that have been going on for at least 5 years that I’ve mentioned things. Always the exact same problems, yet I see new faces in the store all the time. You would think while “cleaning house” with new employees that Petco would take the time to train them better on their inner systems and improve the overall customer experience. Nope, they clearly have the same “UPPER MANAGEMENT” that are extremely poor at their technology parts of the company operations to enhance superior customer experiences on extremely basic elementary problems that should be easy fixes if Petco Management is paying attention to what people are saying!! This should never get to a posted review to fix things and make Petco have a more positive reflection to the public! Do better already Petco Management/Board of directors!!!! You’ve lost me, I’m moving back over to Petsmart (closer for me anyways) to give my Veterinarian (Banfield Pet Hospital) services for my (2) Pugs. As well as for their food, treats, recreational equipment, and toys. All bc you won’t go outside of the minimum to fix basic services. I would encourage others to do the same thing as Petsmart will match or beat prices and look things up for you without treating you like you are not their priority, all because upper management limits the employees tools to do their job effectively/efficiently! I can’t be the only one, I just happen to be ONE customer that speaks out. What about the many others that you just don’t know about. Upper management is the weak spot in this company! Time to clean house internally bc it obviously has ZERO CLUE what they’re doing! All done. Bye bye.

They are willing to let animals die. While it sits with no interaction or stimulstion for weeks and weeks. Ive watched his health decline over these weeks everytime I go in. The bird gets no stimulation or care or interaction which is vital to its survival. Priced at $800 for a bird that is un cared for and declining in health and will probably not even make it 6 months for them to discount it.

I went to Petco on 6/21/2024 to buy Instinct RAW pet food. I purchased it with a credit card, chatted with a nice cashier, and left. At Starbucks, I decided to give my pup a snack from the newly bought food. To my dismay, the food was a clumped, frost-bitten mess with an off color. Having previously bought from Chewy, I knew this wasn’t normal. Chewy's RAW beef is slightly pink with frosty, non-sticking morsels. It was clear that the food had defrosted and been refrozen. I returned to Petco, thinking it was just a bad batch, and the cashier swapped it out like I paid in cash (this caused an issue later). The new package felt right, so I took it home. To my disappointment, the food was still ill-colored and frost-bitten. I took a picture this time (pic on right). Convinced Petco wasn’t storing the RAW food properly, I bought a bag from PetSmart. To my shock, it was the same. I felt like I was going mad. RAW food has to be nearly perfect to prevent illness in dogs, so proper storage is crucial. Now, I had two bags of contaminated RAW food and decided to return them. I bought food from Chewy (web pic on left) for delivery and returned to Petco. I forgot my receipt, but tt was 90 degrees outside, and I was too exhausted to go back home. In-store, I was told I could only get store credit. (I understand the whole store credit with no receipt, but I have online account so they could just pull the receipt but did not) Instead they made me give them my ID to scan so I guess I'm alerted in the system now lol Long story short, asked for manager, he gave me less than what I paid--I said was it on sale or something? He looked at his phone and said oh yes..it was on sale. IT WAS NOT THO! What did he fake look at is the question haha. Anywho...He eventually offered $32.41 in cash instead of just returning the purchase to my card. I got home to receipt and realized I actually paid $39.99. Gonna just dispute with cc and not go back here...I'm probably marked as the girl that makes a living returning dog food so.... DO NOT BUY RAW DOG FOOD FORM THE STORES! The two stars are because (even tho they clearly didn't believe me) they still played nice about it.
