I recently visited the Petco store in Rogers, Arkansas several times this week and was extremely disappointed by the state of their fish tanks and the overall management of the store. Absolutely horrible customer service, you get people that are trying to be kind, they are reading from a script and have no idea how to deviate from that. My house burned to the ground two days ago, I am in desperate need of a dog crate. Ordering on the site is next to impossible. It said if I ordered within the hour it would be delivered by 6:30 PM yesterday. So I called customer service to help, I was relatively certain that I would have the crate by the time promised. Nope, never arrived and no one knows when it will. The order by a certain time and it will delivered by whatever time promised is nothing but BS to get you to order, then hope it arrives. You cannot get in touch with anyone who knows a thing, just a call center offshore where they have absolutely no idea what they are doing except telling you nicely they have no idea where your order is. PETCO, is it possible you could spend some money on actual costumer service instead of someone reading a script while apologizing profusely? Just a thought.

Purchased a container of 35 super worms from the Clifton Park, NY Petco. There were 0 live worms and 1 dead one that looks like it is petrified. I called the store to notify them and was told that “all the containers here have live worms”. The “manager” said she would call me back and then was going to hang up before I reminded her she didn’t take my name or number. Zero customer service. About a month ago I had also purchased crickets from this location and half were dead. I didn’t say anything then but Should have never gone back.

I am extremely frustrated with Petco’s customer service, policies, and ordering system. My cats rely on a specific Petco-manufactured chicken gravy treat to take their medication, which is often hard to find in stores. To ensure I have enough, I’ve tried placing large online orders during promotions, but my orders have repeatedly been canceled, and dealing with their customer service has been a nightmare. The problems I’ve encountered include: - My orders being canceled because Petco assumed I placed them by mistake. - Confusing and inconsistent policies about order limits. - A complete lack of follow-through from managers and unprofessional customer service interactions. - Being wrongly accused of trying to resell the product wholesale, even though I genuinely need the items for personal use. After my most recent attempt to place an order, I spent hours on the phone, getting conflicting answers and fabricated policies. Eventually, I managed to get the order processed, but it took far more time and effort than it should have. I wish another company sold this product because I would switch to them in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, Petco is the only place I can buy it. As soon as I find an alternative, I will never shop at their stores or website again, and I will never recommend them to anyone. Until then, I’m stuck dealing with a company that doesn’t seem to care about its customers or providing its own products in a reasonable way. Update- After a month-long delay, I received what seems to be an automated response offering a $15 refund for the inconvenience, along with a vague apology. The message said, "Rest assured that we will do everything possible to improve our services and meet your expectations in the future." Considering this is the second time I’ve dealt with this exact situation, I guess "we’ll try harder next time" and "here’s 15 bucks" will have to suffice. They are the only distributor who can supply this product in larger quantities at a slightly reasonable price, especially when they're running a discount. You’d think they would make a note on accounts that regularly order large quantities of certain items, so when placing an order, it doesn’t get canceled due to some employee flagging it as an attempt to buy the product and resell it for a markup. But apparently, doing everything possible to improve their service and meet expectations stops at being able to put notes on customer accounts.

Petco is my go to. The staff is wonderful and helpful. But recently I bought an Aqueon heater for my king beta tank. It’s supposed to be preset to 78. That is not true. It’s staying at 76. Thought it was faulty. Bought another one because that’s the only option for smaller tanks in the same situation. There are no other options which is disappointing, which is resulting me going to Amazon. Hopefully this message will get across to somebody. They need a better brand for heaters.
