Petco

I recently visited Petco and was pretty happy with the experience. They’ve got a nice selection of pet products — from food and toys to accessories and grooming items. Prices are okay, and they often have discounts, which is a plus. The staff was friendly and helped me find the right food for my cat. They also have services like grooming and fish tank care, which is convenient. The only downside is that some sections were a bit messy, so it was a little hard to find things at first. But overall, it’s a good store, and I’ll definitely be back.

I hope this finds you well. If I can only give no star, I would. I had an appointment today at 5:00pm, The groomer’s named (Vanessa). She does not know how to provide great customer service nor respect to clients that comes in. Vanessa had already noticed that my dog was very scared and needed reassurance. As I was watching her doing the services that I requested, she was not comforting him at all. She didn’t even bother trying to calm him down or even pet him. I did not feel comfortable leaving my dog with her and that’s why I stood there and watch. She suddenly stopped and had told me that we cannot continue the services. Vanessa called my dog “Crazy” and needs to see a trainer. I confronted her how come she didn’t comfort my dog and show reassurance. She was speechless. Vanessa definitely needs training on her customer service and professional communication skills. After speaking to the manager, I hope the manager takes this into a serious matter, otherwise they will lose people to get their dogs groomed. In my opinion, I came there and thought that I could trust them with my dog as they have the trainings and capability to ensure comfort to animals. But they DO NOT. I will never go back to this location ever again. I have been to Poway location and they super great with animals and treat them with respect and comfort, unlike this location.

Took my dog to get a basic bath and nail clipping here and afterwards her nails were cracked, crooked, and just all around terrible. I went back in and broached it with the employees who then told me it was because I did not pay to get her nails buffed. I understand with lack of buffing there will be roughness BUT the cracking and chunks of nail hanging off of her claws was unacceptable. Instead of correcting the situation I was then told I can bring her back in and pay to get her nails buffed when they should not have even been this bad in the first place. They did not seem professional at all. Will not be taking her back to this location any time soon.

This is a nice Petco. I've been to many many. This one feels like a local pet store in a small town kind of vibe. It may be because of the employees there, who are very friendly and eager to help (about animal things!) One night, I made a silly mistake and arrived 2 minutes late to doors that were already locked. An employee inside saw me standing outside and instead of shoo-ing me away, cracked open the door, and asked how he could be of help. I told him that I had an online order already placed and paid for, and he took a few minutes to go and retrieve my order! My pets did not go hungry that night, and it was because of that very admirable young man. The selections in here are pretty specific, and they carry a good variety of brands and products. I always visit the pets for adoption before I start my shopping.

They don't ever throw anything away so it's often bad and expired. Photo of just one example of being in line waiting. On this one trip I also found a bunch of mealworms that were months expired and all dead, and a bunch of other issues that come from lack of attention.
