Columbus Pet Expo Introduce
For pet owners in and around Columbus, Ohio, the platform category "Pet Store Near Me" aims to connect you with local establishments catering to your beloved animal companions. Among these, the Columbus Pet Expo, located at 717 E 17th Ave, Columbus, OH 43201, USA, stands as a noteworthy event that brings together a variety of pet-related vendors and services. You can reach them at (614) 622-3136 or +1 614-622-3136 for any inquiries.
Based on available information, the Columbus Pet Expo appears to function primarily as an event rather than a traditional brick-and-mortar pet store with daily operating hours. It serves as a marketplace where various vendors gather to offer their products and services to pet owners. This format allows for a diverse range of offerings, from pet food and treats to accessories and potentially even pet grooming or adoption services depending on the participating vendors.
Customer reviews provide a mixed perspective on the Columbus Pet Expo experience. One recurring point of contention seems to be the parking situation. While one attendee mentioned an entrance fee of $16 for a three-day event, they also highlighted a separate parking fee of $7 per day, totaling $21 for the weekend. This individual expressed surprise and frustration, noting that online information might have suggested free parking and that parking at the same venue for the state fair was less expensive. Another reviewer echoed this sentiment, labeling the event a "complete rip off" due to the high parking cost relative to the event ticket price and recounting being denied entry upon arrival. This negative experience led them to advise others to avoid the expo altogether and seek ticket refunds.
On a more positive note, another attendee described the expo as a "nice place to take your dogs and cats," indicating that pets are welcome at the event. They also mentioned the presence of "many vendors giving away some treats and such," suggesting opportunities to discover new products and perhaps receive samples. However, this reviewer also noted a perceived decrease in the number of vendors compared to the previous year, expressing hope that this was not a continuing trend. Interestingly, they pointed out the presence of vendors unrelated to pets, such as those offering "roof siding," which seems to be a recurring characteristic of the event. Despite this, the reviewer appreciated the presence of more attentive pet owners this year.
Considering these varied experiences, potential attendees of the Columbus Pet Expo should be aware that it operates as an event with specific dates rather than a continuously open pet store. The environment is characterized by a collection of different vendors, some directly related to pets and others potentially from unrelated industries. While there may be opportunities to find unique pet products, treats, and potentially services, it is crucial to factor in additional costs such as parking, which some attendees have found to be unexpectedly high. It would be prudent to verify parking fees and event details directly with the organizers before attending.
The features of the Columbus Pet Expo seem to revolve around the variety of vendors present. This can be both a strength and a potential drawback. The diversity might offer a wider selection of products and services than a traditional pet store, allowing visitors to discover new brands and offerings. However, the inclusion of non-pet-related vendors might detract from the core experience for some attendees who are primarily focused on pet-related needs. The presence of giveaways and the welcoming atmosphere for pets are positive aspects highlighted by at least one reviewer.
Promotional information is somewhat limited based on the provided reviews. The mention of treat giveaways suggests that vendors may use the event to promote their products through samples and direct interaction with pet owners. The event itself can be seen as a promotional platform for the participating businesses, allowing them to reach a concentrated audience of pet enthusiasts. However, specific large-scale promotions or discounts for the event itself are not clearly evident from the reviews.
In conclusion, the Columbus Pet Expo serves as a periodic event in the "Pet Store Near Me" category for the Columbus area. It offers a marketplace for various vendors, providing access to a range of pet-related goods and services, alongside some potentially unrelated offerings. While some attendees have appreciated the opportunity to bring their pets and explore different vendors, concerns have been raised regarding the cost of parking and the mix of vendors present. Potential visitors are advised to consider these factors and seek up-to-date information about the event and associated costs before attending to ensure it aligns with their needs and expectations.

Mar 08, 2025 路 Beck AIt is a nice place to take your dogs and cats. They have many vendors giving away some treats and such. But it seemed like there were fewer vendors there this year than last, to which i hope this isn't a trend. You have roof siding and other such vendors there that have nothing to do with pets, but oh well, it seems like that has been a trend for some time. Maybe when the economy picks up some next year, we will have more vendors. Oh yeah, less un trained humans not watching where they were walking, yaaa!
Mar 16, 2025 路 K WindAround $40 for 2 people and parking. Not well organized in terms of car or foot traffic flow - barricaded walkways to get from parking to building, not well labeled, one-way traffic for an enter & exit area which blocked agress and impeded ada access. Booths were pretty good. Many rescues which are doing wonderful things and a few local farms. Also a reptile area, small animal rescue and a rabbit area. I really loved meeting and talking with the rescue people - tons of great folks doing such great work in our communities for our kitties, puppers, and more. 2 things that rubbed me the wrong way were the Scentsy booth - why are we allowing irrelevant pyramid schemes at a pet expo - and a booth where they put a mouse in a tube and let a dog find and terrorize it. I get the tube kept a dog from crushing it, but this type exposition shouldnt seek to profit off of pet cruelty at any level and the tube doesnt protect the mouse from being slammed around or psychologically wrecked. Animals have to eat, but this it not for food its for entertainment. I dont even know the thought process for allowing this type of thing, but I cant condone it so unfortunately I wont support this event in the future. Most activities/events were dog focused - I really loved watching the dog pool/dock jump thing. All in it was okay. I found out about some new places to support, but wont attend this in the future.
