This place is chaos (in a good way). Every time we've visited, there have been a ton of dogs running around chasing toys and each other, and all of the dogs and people have been friendly. In addition to the spacious areas for large and small dogs, there are also lots of fields and trails surrounding the dog park for cooling down after the fun

Services Offered

Quiet Waters Dog Park, as part of the Anne Arundel County Recreation and Parks system, offers a comprehensive set of services and amenities designed for the comfort and safety of all canine and human visitors:

  • Separate Areas for Large and Small Dogs: The park is fully fenced and features distinct, spacious off-leash areas to accommodate dogs of different sizes and play styles. This separation ensures that smaller or more timid dogs can play safely without being intimidated by larger, more energetic breeds, and vice versa.
  • Dog Beach/Swimming Area: A unique and highly popular feature is the dedicated dog beach, one of the few in Annapolis. This shallow, fenced swimming area allows dogs to safely splash, play in the water, and cool off, particularly on hot Maryland days. It provides a fantastic opportunity for water-loving dogs to enjoy off-leash aquatic fun.
  • Double-Gated Entries: For enhanced security and to prevent accidental escapes, both the main dog park areas and the dog beach feature a double-gated entrance system.
  • Water Fountains and Rinsing Station: The park provides water fountains for dogs to stay hydrated. Additionally, there’s a convenient hose or rinse-off station near the restrooms, allowing owners to clean sand or mud off their pups after a beach visit or a vigorous play session.
  • Waste Bags and Trash Cans: Promoting responsible pet ownership and maintaining cleanliness, dog waste bag dispensers and numerous trash cans are readily available throughout the dog park and beach areas, encouraging prompt cleanup.
  • Benches and Shaded Areas: For the comfort of human companions, the park offers plenty of benches and several areas with natural shade, providing comfortable spots for owners to relax, socialize, and supervise their dogs. Some of these seating areas are located under open sheds.
  • Dog-Friendly Trails: Beyond the fenced off-leash areas, Quiet Waters Park boasts miles of beautiful pet-friendly trails where leashed dogs are welcome to join their owners for a scenic walk or hike, offering a comprehensive outdoor experience.
Features / Highlights

Quiet Waters Dog Park is highly regarded for several outstanding features that make it a top choice for dog owners in Maryland:

  • Spacious Off-Leash Areas: The park offers expansive fenced-in sections for both large and small dogs, providing ample room for them to run, play, and engage in high-energy activities without feeling confined. Visitors consistently praise the "plenty of room for a handful of dogs to be in there playing without being super close to one another."
  • Unique Dog Beach Access: This is arguably one of the park's most distinctive highlights. The dedicated dog beach, situated on Harness Creek, allows dogs to swim and cool off, providing a fantastic option for water-loving breeds. It's a shallow, safe area where dogs can splash and frolic off-leash. Many owners highlight the convenience of a rinsing station nearby for post-swim clean-up.
  • Abundant Natural Shade: The presence of mature trees provides excellent natural shade, offering respite from the sun on hot days for both dogs and their owners. This is a crucial feature that enhances comfort during extended visits.
  • Extensive Leashed Trails: Beyond the fenced dog park, Quiet Waters Park features over 5 miles of beautiful, paved trails winding through forests and along the water. These trails are dog-friendly (on-leash), allowing for varied exercise and exploration opportunities before or after off-leash play.
  • Friendly and Attentive Community: As noted in reviews, the park fosters a welcoming atmosphere where "all of the dogs and people have been friendly" and "owners seemed responsible." This creates a pleasant and safe environment for socialization.
  • Well-Maintained Grounds: The park is consistently lauded for being clean and well-kept by Anne Arundel County Recreation and Parks, with clear rules in place to ensure a positive experience for all users.
Promotions or Special Offers

As a public park managed by Anne Arundel County Recreation and Parks, Quiet Waters Dog Park does not offer traditional commercial promotions or loyalty programs. Its primary "special offer" is the exceptional quality of its facilities and the diverse recreational opportunities it provides to the community for a nominal daily entry fee or through an affordable annual pass. The value truly lies in the safe, spacious, and amenity-rich environment it offers for canine exercise and socialization.

However, there are a couple of points to consider that act as value propositions:

  • Annual Passes: For frequent visitors, purchasing an annual pass ($30 for Anne Arundel County residents, $40 for non-residents) offers significant savings compared to the $6 daily per-vehicle fee. This allows unlimited access to Quiet Waters Park, as well as other regional parks in Anne Arundel County like Downs Park and Kinder Farm Park, maximizing your investment in outdoor recreation.
  • Free Entry for Military/Veterans: A notable benefit is that active duty military personnel, veterans, and their families can enter Quiet Waters Park for free with valid service-connected identification. This is a commendable offering that acknowledges their service.

Additionally, Quiet Waters Park hosts numerous community events throughout the year, some of which may be pet-friendly or include dog-related activities. Examples include concerts, art festivals, and nature programs. While these aren't direct "promotions" for the dog park itself, they enhance the overall value of visiting the park and provide additional opportunities for dog owners to enjoy the space. It is always advisable to check the official Anne Arundel County Recreation and Parks website or the Friends of Quiet Waters Park website for a calendar of events and any special announcements.

Great place for a relaxing walk. Wish they had more maps along the trails though.

Incredible dog park - awesome place to let your dog socialize and get some swimming in. Clean and plenty of tennis balls laying around to throw. Friendly crowd. Park is not completely fenced in except for small gap on far end that some dogs could wander. Typically don't let my dog off leash if not enclosed but it was safe enough here and enough going on that he had a blast and we didn't have any issues.

This is a great park. Not only to bring your dog, but in general. Trails are mostly shaded, there's a lot to see here. And once you are done there are plenty of food options right across the street from the park's entrance. I wish it was just a bit closer from our home... Did you know that this mansion is located inside the park? Beautiful building! 👍
