There's a $3 daily usage fee.... The one I was in is about a mile to walk around, I'm guessing the other one is much smaller. It is fenced in, but there's no way your dog would know that. Nice for my girl to stretch her little legs... I was the only one there at that time, but there's a big covered sitting area for everyone if it should ever get busy...

  • Separate Sections for Different Needs: While not explicitly stated as "small and large dog areas," reviews suggest there might be at least two distinct sections within the park (one described as "about a mile to walk around," another "much smaller"), catering to varying dog sizes or energy levels, though shade can be a concern in some areas.

The New Richmond Area Off Leash Dog Park boasts several compelling features and highlights that make it a favored destination for Wisconsin dog owners:

  • Vast, Fenced Play Space: A primary highlight is the sheer size of the fenced-in area. Users describe sections that are "about a mile to walk around," which is exceptional for an off-leash park, allowing dogs ample room for extensive running and exploration.
  • Secure Environment: The park is fully fenced, providing a crucial sense of security for owners, even if the fencing is naturally integrated and not overtly visible to dogs. This allows pets to roam freely without concern for wandering off.
  • Covered Seating and Picnic Areas: The presence of a large covered sitting area or pavilion with picnic tables in the bigger section is a major convenience and highlight. It offers shade and shelter, making visits more comfortable, especially on sunny or lightly rainy days, and provides a social gathering point.
  • Varied Terrain (Implied): While specific terrain details aren't extensive, the mention of "a mile to walk around" suggests diverse areas for exploration beyond just a flat field, potentially including natural elements that appeal to a dog's inquisitive nature.
  • Community Focus: The park is noted as a place that can get busy, indicating its popularity and role as a central gathering point for local dog enthusiasts, fostering a sense of community among regulars.
  • Dedicated Exercise Space: It serves as an excellent venue for dogs to "stretch their little legs" and burn off energy, crucial for their physical health and behavioral balance.

This annual fee is a cost-effective "promotion" for regulars, providing unlimited access for an entire year at a significant saving compared to daily fees if visited regularly.
  • Value for Money: The fee structure, particularly the annual membership, essentially "promotes" long-term engagement by offering substantial value for consistent use, allowing dog owners to access a high-quality, maintained off-leash area regularly for a reasonable cost.

For Wisconsin residents who value ample outdoor recreation, this park is a perfect fit.

The park's thoughtful design, including a securely fenced perimeter, provides peace of mind for owners, ensuring their dogs can safely roam off-leash. For dedicated dog owners, the annual membership becomes a truly cost-effective way to access a top-tier off-leash facility whenever they wish.

Beyond the physical attributes, the park fosters a welcoming community atmosphere. While a user noted being the only one there at times, the existence of a "big covered sitting area for everyone if it should ever get busy" implies an expectation of community interaction, and indeed, dog parks naturally become social hubs. This provides a great opportunity for local dog owners to meet, share experiences, and build connections within their community, enriching both human and canine lives.

It's a great park. I just wish the smaller section had some shade. The big section has a pavilion and picnic tables.

I love our local dog park. I wish they had a couple more covered seating areas but overall it’s a large area to let your pup run around. There’s a smaller area for the smaller breeds as well. Most owners are conscientious about cleaning up their dog’s piles. It would be nice if everyone was! About 3 laps is a mile FYI.

Having been to several local dog parks, I feel safe in saying New Richmond's is a cut above. Two separate fenced in areas allow for the separation of dogs if needed and everyone I've met has been super friendly. There is also a large pavilion with tables and a few benches and trash can scattered about. A few negatives include the lack of running water, trees in the main areas, and a paved lot but overall the large fenced space makes this park an asset to NR dog owners.

Very large dog park. Multiple benches throughout the dog park. Picnic pavilion and water pump. Also a smaller fenced in area for use.
