I went here today and I was so happy walking in and seeing beautiful tanks clean with happy fish in them and healthy plants. The owner was super nice and friendly and very knowledgeable along with her staff. It was a breath of fresh air going into a fish store that actually cares about the fish and animals they sell along with taking care of their customers. I got some fish, shrimp, snails and plants and all of them very reasonably priced. I didn’t want to leave that’s how much I liked this store and they definitely got themselves a new customer . I highly recommend this store and will be going back again very soon.

Apr 02, 2025 · Philippe Sigouin⚠️⚠️⚠️ READ THIS BEFORE GOING TO THIS STORE (trying to save people stress)⚠️⚠️⚠️ : went there to add fish to what I had, owner told us how he had a degree from Harvard and so on, how long the store was around, his vast knowledge, etc. I don't doubt that he has knowledge, BUT : I told him I was going to ***quarantine*** the fish before putting them in my big tank. ‼️ HE SPECIFICALLY SAID "THERE'S NO NEED TO DO THAT, NOT FISH FROM THIS STORE"‼️ ALL of the fish died within 2-3 days, I called concerned. They told me it was weak genetics and not to worry about it if my other fish were acting normal. THREE OF MY FISH I'VE HAD FOR A YEAR HAVE DIED 💀💀💀, MY ENTIRE TANK HAS ICK, AND MY FISH ARE DROPPING LEFT AND RIGHT ⚠️DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM IF THEY TELL YOU NOT TO QUARANTINE. THEY COMPLETELY WRECKED MY TANK ⚠️ I've never left a review in my life, but this is necessary NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN. Most regretful thing I've ever done regarding having an aquarium was listening to this man who let his ego get in the way of realistic advice. He was kind, he meant well, but it ruined everything for my tank. Sorry Mr. L, but you can't tell people they don't need to quarantine their fish❌ ⭐⭐ Hi Katherine⭐⭐ Apparently you can reply to me but I can't reply to you in a secondary review. Yes, I stand corrected; Ellis is no longer the owner, just works there and owned the place for years and years and years. Then he sold the place to you (or someone else) "for a dollar", words from his mouth. I don't see how your technical ownership correction has any bearing on the terrible experience. My water parameters were perfect, please don't insult me with the inference that I caused this. Everything was perfect. I don't care about a refund. My tank got completely ruined because of him specifically telling me not to quarantine when I said I was going to. And then I was told it was probably just genetics when I called the store; more terrible advice. I trusted what was said there because my family gave T.I. business going back decades. I've raised plenty of fish on my own, don't put this on my water parameters. I only had pristine tanks with happy and healthy fish until the visit to tropical Isle. Spent about $400 too, and I didn't want a refund on the Eheim I haven't even used yet because I'm never coming back. Was also able to find the same eheim filter for much cheaper by the way. It's been almost a month now, I lost 50% of my fish because everything got so deeply embedded in my fish, because I was told "it's just weak genetics, there's basically nothing to worry about". I am still trying to get them better, at least what's left of them. I don't care about a refund and that's just foolish to say. Maybe you guys are just about turning a buck now, I don't care about that. This has completely taken the joy and tranquility I got from having my aquariums. Unbelievable. Maybe if Ellis spent more time listening to people instead of talking about his education from Harvard and wherever else, some better results would be yielded. I'm not the only person who's had this experience and I know that for a fact. What a shame. But don't worry I spent a bunch of money and you'll continue to sell fish regardless of condition.
Apr 10, 2025 · bob smithA local treasure. The team is as knowledgeable as the New England Aquarium (likely more so). Healthy fish, amazing selection and all the supplies you could ever need. It honestly may be the best aquarium store in America. My children and I have been going to TropicIsle for 25 years now!
Mar 15, 2025 · Ken MI was very impressed with the selection and quality of the fish. I was also happy to see bettas in actual tanks and not bowls!. Service was great, even as busy as it was I had multiple people ask if I needed help. I can’t wait to come back!.
