Petco

I went to Petco in Middletown today to purchase food for my kittens. They have a Grooming and Wellness Center for pets… so I thought. I inquired about grooming svcs for my kittens. I was told “We don’t service cats at this location.” Mmmmmkay… there are 3 Petcos ….2 are 25 miles away from the store I was at. And one is 18 miles away. Why say you service pets, when you only service dogs. Do better Petco

I genuinely loved my dogs groomer here. I have been coming monthly until recently when my dogs appt kept getting rescheduled and I had to take any appt available which was ok. I walk in and instead of letting me know before hand my dog needed updated shots (which we are scheduled for this week). And if my dog would have been seen for his normal monthly appt . would have been fine per the groomer i was sent away. I am fine with the policy. However the "so called" manager Ashley needs to learn customer service. DO NOT RECOMMED THIS LOCATION FOR GROOMING. thank goodness Petsmart is coming down the street. ASHLEY IS RUDE! if you hate customer service get a new job.

Everytime my husband shops at the Middletown Delaware and Kirkwood highway location, which is weekly he can never get assistance, several workers are walking around and no one ever ask, "may I help you with something". He has to go to cashier to ask for assistance with purchasing fish and than wait 45 minutes before someone decides to come, workers act as if they are being bothered. What happened to good customer service? So disappointed.

The check in process is always smooth. The employees are helpful and professional. Rachel, the groomer is very personable and does a great job with our dog. Editing to add: We lost one of our dogs summer 2024. To my surprise we received a beautiful plant today and a card from PETCO sharing their condolences. That just warmed my heart.

If you try to buy tropical fish here, prepare for an inquisition. Employees ask all kinds of questions and talk down to customers. Even when you tell them you have been experienced with aquariums for years, your answers are never good enough. Today a female employee gave me a hard time about buying two Glo-fish tetras at $10.99 each, telling me I needed to buy at least three. Despite the fact that they only had two in the color that I wanted and also that it's insulting to have her decide my budget. The time before that a different employee admitted she had no knowledge of fish whatsoever but still questioned the answers I gave her. Today I left making no purchase or any future purchase. It's one thing to train employees to help customers, another to have them judge and deny customers.
