This Petco location continues to go further and further down hill. There are a handful of good, kind employees like Mari (who is a treasure to this world) at the register and some of the pet care people but other than that this location has no redeeming qualities. The store is constantly a mess with palates all over, horribly maintained fish tanks and dried dog urine all over the isles. They even employ people in management positions who were FIRED from their number 1 competitor. The entrance to the store constantly wreaks of urine from customer dogs peeing (which happens but regularly cleaning would keep the odor under control. Clearly that isn't happening) The parking lot is a disaster, and has been for a long time. Drive careful because there are loads of potholes. Petco is responsible for managing the sidewalks outside of the store but the company they have hired to clear the parking lot and sidewalks does such a poor job that as I was leaving Saturday I saw a woman in a motorized wheelchair on the sidewalk with only one leg having to try her best to shovel out a path so she could get through. All the other surrounding businesses had clear sidewalks. Thankfully I was able to get out and shovel for her. It had been 4 days since the snow storm and the weather was beautiful out. There is absolutely no reason for such poorly maintained sidewalks that a disabled woman was having to try and shovel it herself. The management team should be paying attention and if their parking lot maintenance company can't get out there then a manager should be getting out there to shovel so that the community and customers can safely navigate the parking lot and sidewalks. I really enjoy chatting with people like Mari when I come each week to buy dog food, cat foot and crickets but until this store gets a major management change and remodel I will be limiting how often I frequent this location moving forward.

Petco Introduce

For local users in Omaha, Nebraska, please be aware of recent feedback regarding the Petco located at 7110 Dodge St. You can contact this store at (402) 551-0885 or their mobile number +1 402-551-0885.

Recent customer reviews paint a concerning picture of this particular Petco location. Multiple reviewers describe a store that is consistently messy, with pallets obstructing walkways. There are complaints about poorly maintained fish tanks and the presence of dried dog urine on the floors. The entrance is also reported to frequently have a strong odor of urine from customer dogs.

Furthermore, the parking lot is described as being in disrepair with numerous potholes. Sidewalk maintenance is also a significant concern, with one reviewer recounting an incident of a disabled woman in a wheelchair having to shovel snow herself due to inadequate clearing, even several days after a snowstorm. This suggests potential issues with the contracted maintenance services and oversight by the store's management.

There are also serious allegations regarding the grooming services at this location. One customer reported being overcharged after an employee allegedly lied about their dog's weight without using a scale. This resulted in the customer being charged for a medium-sized dog groom instead of a small-sized dog groom. The customer strongly advises others to ensure their dog is weighed in their presence to avoid potential overcharging and expresses a loss of trust in this location.

While some kind employees, like an individual named Mari at the register and some pet care staff, are mentioned positively, the overwhelming sentiment from the recent reviews points to significant issues with store management, maintenance, and potentially unethical practices within the grooming department. Due to these concerns, customers are advised to be cautious and consider these recent experiences when deciding whether to frequent this specific Petco location in Omaha.

MAKE SURE THEY WEIGH YOUR DOG IN FRONT OF YOU OR ELSE THEY WILL LIE AND MAKE YOU PAY MORE MONEY!! I wish I could give 0 stars for the employee lying and trying to steal money from us. I have been going to this Petco for 5 years and I have never had any issues with using this Petco location until yesterday. Medium sized dogs get charged $10 more than a small sized dog, (which is fair since there is more to shave) and for a dog to be considered medium they need to weigh 27 pounds according to the lady at the grooming counter. We walk in and they say “Yeah your dog weighs 27 pounds.” They said that just by looking at her without physically putting her on the scale. We knew she wasn’t 27 pounds because we had just taken her to the vet 2 weeks before where she weighed 21pounds. We left for a couple of hours and then we received the text that said she was ready to be picked up. We got there and we asked if she weighed our dog and she said “Yes, she weighs 27 pounds.” We were worried that our dog might be sick if she gained 5 pounds in 2 weeks so we asked the employee to weigh her again. She was hesitant but did it in front of us and our dog only weighed 22 pounds. She lied straight to our faces just so they could get more money from us. Lying is not okay. Unethical, no integrity. I’m afraid to use this location ever again now because I feel like I’m not getting the full service I pay for.

Rebecca was very kind and very knowledgeable, I had so many questions about a future purchase and she answered every single one in depth and showed me items w/o acting annoyed that I stopped her from her closing duties or that I didn’t know jack about what I had come for . I appreciated your great costumer service ,I came unsure but left feeling positive to make the next step for our future family pet . Thank you Becca !

I was with my boyfriend during his recent visit to VETCO, and the experience was incredibly frustrating. As a nurse, I was shocked by the lack of professionalism. His dog’s tumor was confirmed non-cancerous in July 2024, and surgery was scheduled for November 27 with Dr. Harris. However, the surgery was suddenly canceled due to “scheduling issues,” with no clear explanation. We were told to go to another vet and get a refund on blood work, which felt unprofessional. When we went to the clinic to get answers, my boyfriend asked to speak with Dr. Harris, but we were told he was unavailable—even though he was in the building. The director also admitted Dr. Harris didn’t control scheduling, contradicting his reason for the cancellation. Despite promises to call back, Dr. Harris never did. As a nurse, I can tell you that this kind of behavior in the medical field would be considered malpractice. The lack of transparency, honesty, and neglect toward the pet’s health is unacceptable. The clinic was not forthcoming with any clear answers, and their failure to communicate and be truthful shows a complete disregard for both the pet’s well-being and the client’s trust. I would advise other pet owners to seek care elsewhere.

Don't use this Petco location unless you want to be ripped off. The biggest mistake was lying to us so that they could get more money. Upon arrival they told us that our dog weighed 27 pounds before weighing her. Then when we picker her up we asked what she weighed and the lady lied straight to our face saying she weighed 27 pounds exactly, which is the cut off weight between small and medium which is a $10 difference. So we asked her to weigh our dog again in front of us and our dog weighed 22 pounds. We knew she didn't weigh 27 pounds because we took our dog to the vet 2 weeks ago where she weighed 21 pounds. They lied to us to try and scam us for more money. That is not okay. We took our dog in for a full grooming service. This service was to include a hair cut, ear cleaning, teeth brushing and a nail trim. They missed a few spots on our dogs face and on the back of her legs when cutting her hair. Her ears were still dirty and full of wax when picking her up. They don't do all the services that we paid for. If you use this location, make sure you know your dogs weight before hand.
