Welcome to Pet Supermarket
Located at 6704 Clinton Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37912, Pet Supermarket is a local establishment that aims to cater to the needs of pet owners in the area. Positioned within the "Pet Store Near Me" category, this store offers a range of products and services designed to support the well-being of various animal companions. For those seeking pet supplies, the store's contact information is readily available via phone at (865) 512-8961 or mobile at +1 865-512-8961.
When considering the overall environment of Pet Supermarket, customer feedback provides some insight. One review describes the store as "Nice clean store," suggesting a generally well-maintained and organized retail space. This cleanliness is often a significant factor for pet owners, as it can contribute to a more pleasant shopping experience and, by extension, reflect positively on the care of the animals within the store. The same review also notes that "Pets look great," which could indicate that the animals on display, such as fish and potentially other small creatures, are kept in conditions that appear healthy and well-cared for from a visual perspective.
However, the aspect of customer service appears to be an area where experiences vary. One customer reported a less than ideal encounter, stating that during their visit, they observed "2 girls 'working'," with one "chatting on her phone" and the other "messing with the fish." This customer specifically mentioned that "Neither had the courtesy to even ask if I needed help." This highlights a potential inconsistency in staff engagement and attentiveness, which can be a critical component of a positive shopping experience, especially in a specialized retail environment like a pet store where customers might require assistance with specific products or animal care advice. The lack of proactive assistance ultimately led this customer to spend their money at a competitor, Pet Supplies Plus, where they made a significant purchase of over $300.
Regarding the services and goods available, Pet Supermarket, as a general pet store, is expected to offer a broad array of pet supplies. This typically includes various types of pet food tailored to different species and dietary needs, such as dog food, cat food, and specialized diets for smaller animals or fish. Beyond food, customers would likely find an assortment of accessories, including toys, leashes, collars, beds, grooming supplies, and habitats for various pets. For fish owners, the store would stock aquariums, filters, heaters, decorations, and a variety of fish species, alongside their corresponding feed and water treatment products. Given the mention of "the two cats" in one review, it's possible the store features adoptable cats or a display area for felines, which could be a unique feature, though this is not explicitly confirmed as an adoption service.
A significant point of concern raised by a customer revolves around the quality of live animals, specifically fish. This customer detailed a negative experience where they purchased "11 fish total" and followed all instructions given by a store worker and those on the tank boxes. Despite this, they reported that "within a hr of them being in the tanks they was dying by this morning every single one was dead BUT one fish." This review strongly suggests that the fish sold were "bad fish" or unhealthy upon purchase. Furthermore, the customer experienced issues when trying to get a refund, claiming the store only acknowledged selling them "3 fish" and provided only "a SMALL portion of what we paid." This indicates a potential discrepancy in record-keeping or a policy that does not fully cover such incidents, leading the customer to highly recommend "NOT going here for animals." The only animals that customer felt looked "decently good" were the two cats, further emphasizing the specific issue with the fish department.
Based on the available information, the key features of Pet Supermarket include its retail environment, which has been noted as clean. The store appears to stock a range of general pet supplies. While specific promotional information is not provided, pet stores often run promotions such as loyalty programs, discounts on bulk purchases, seasonal sales, or special offers on new products. Without direct promotional details, it is difficult to elaborate on specific deals, but customers are encouraged to inquire directly with the store or check for any advertised specials. The varying customer experiences, particularly concerning live animal sales and customer service, present a mixed picture of the store's overall operational strengths and areas for improvement. For local users considering Pet Supermarket, it would be prudent to approach purchases of live animals with caution and perhaps inquire about the store's return or health guarantee policies for pets before making a purchase. For general pet supplies, the store appears to offer a clean environment for shopping.

May 09, 2025 · Bree FoxNice clean store. Pets look great. Walked through the store and 2 girls "working". 1 chatting on her phone and the other one messing with the fish. Neither had the courtesy to even ask if I needed help. Went on down to Pet Supplies Plus and spent over $300.
Jan 31, 2025 · Anna BurhusWe LOVE bringing our golden retriever Holly to the dog wash here! It's so easy and convenient for bathing a dog in the middle of winter. It's also reasonably priced & you don't need to bring anything but the dog! They provide you with shampoo, conditioner & towels!
Dec 31, 2024 · Melissa BlumeSurprisingly quality fish. I saw no disease and bought quite a few fish. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to catch the fish I WANTED. I will shop here again. Ive had aquariums for 40+ years, I know what Im talking about. Excellent.
