This is the best fish store in Knoxville! They have so many different beautiful fish go chose from. Frssh water and salt water ones! I buy all of my fish here as well as all of my aquarium supplies that I need. My favorite part is the rewards program they have also. If you buy their brand of fish food, you can take your empty container back in and get 20% off when they fill it back up! Always a good thing when saving money. They have the best polite and professional staff also! I highly recommend.

Welcome to Tennessee Water Gardens
Tennessee Water Gardens, located at 6410 Papermill Dr NW, Knoxville, TN 37919, USA, is a specialized establishment that, despite its name, functions primarily as a comprehensive aquatic pet store within the "Pet Store Near Me" category. It caters to enthusiasts of both indoor aquariums and outdoor water features, offering a wide array of products and services for fish and aquatic plants. For direct communication, they can be reached at (865) 588-2073 or +1 865-588-2073.
The environment of Tennessee Water Gardens is described as a place with "so many different beautiful fish to choose from," indicating a visually engaging space filled with various aquariums. Customers can expect to find tanks dedicated to both freshwater and saltwater species, suggesting a diverse and vibrant display of aquatic life. The presence of pond plants further implies outdoor sections or dedicated areas for larger aquatic flora, contributing to a lush and natural ambiance. A positive customer review highlights the store as the "best fish store in Knoxville," which points to a well-maintained and extensive collection of fish. However, another review describes an incident involving the owner, which suggests that the internal environment, in terms of customer interaction, can be inconsistent. The layout likely allows for easy Browse of various fish tanks and displays of aquarium and pond supplies. The general atmosphere aims to immerse visitors in the world of aquatic gardening and fish keeping, with the natural sounds of water and the visual appeal of diverse aquatic ecosystems. Despite the specific negative personal interaction, the store's primary focus on showcasing a wide variety of aquatic life and associated products suggests a well-structured retail space dedicated to its niche.
Tennessee Water Gardens offers a comprehensive range of services and goods primarily focused on aquatic pets and water gardening. Their core offering includes a vast selection of live fish, encompassing both **freshwater and saltwater varieties**. This diversity allows them to cater to a broad spectrum of aquarium hobbyists, from those maintaining simple community tanks to those with complex reef systems. Beyond live animals, the store is a reliable source for "all of my aquarium supplies that I need," as stated by a customer. This would include essential equipment such as filters, heaters, lighting, substrate, and water testing kits. Specialized items like water conditioners, medications, and various types of fish food are also readily available. A key service highlighted is the provision of **pond plants**, indicating that they cater to outdoor water features as well, offering a range of aquatic flora suitable for ponds and water gardens. Furthermore, a significant service mentioned is their **rewards program**, which includes a unique benefit: customers can return empty containers of the store's brand of fish food for a 20% discount on refills. This innovative program promotes sustainability and offers a tangible saving for loyal customers. The store also prides itself on having "polite and professional staff," which suggests that beyond the owner's reported behavior, there are other team members dedicated to providing helpful and respectful customer service, particularly the "guy who rang me up" who was "EXTREMELY nice." This advisory role is crucial for new and experienced aquarists alike, ensuring they receive appropriate guidance on fish care, water quality, and product selection.
Several features distinguish Tennessee Water Gardens within the "Pet Store Near Me" category, particularly for aquatic enthusiasts. A prominent feature is its **extensive selection of both freshwater and saltwater fish**, making it a comprehensive resource for diverse aquatic interests. This breadth of choice positions it as a leading fish store in the Knoxville area. The **rewards program**, with its 20% refill discount for their brand of fish food, is a unique and attractive feature that fosters customer loyalty and offers significant savings. This demonstrates an innovative approach to customer retention and value. The presence of **pond plants** alongside aquarium supplies indicates a broader appeal to those interested in outdoor water features, distinguishing it from purely indoor aquarium shops. Another key feature, as noted by a positive reviewer, is the general professionalism and politeness of the staff, excluding the owner in one instance. This suggests a team that is knowledgeable and willing to assist customers, providing valuable expertise. However, it is crucial to objectively present the contrasting customer experiences. A significant feature, albeit a negative one, is the **reported behavior of the owner**, described as "EXTREMELY rude" and prone to "scolding customers like children." This directly impacts the customer experience and could be a deterrent for new visitors, as one reviewer explicitly stated they "won’t be back" due to this interaction. The discrepancy between the owner's demeanor and the positive attributes of other staff members presents a mixed bag for potential customers. While the quality of products and selection might be excellent, the customer service from a key figure can significantly influence the overall perception and willingness to return. This duality of experience is a critical feature that defines the store's identity as perceived by its clientele.
Regarding promotional information, Tennessee Water Gardens primarily leverages its **rewards program** as a key promotional tool. The 20% discount on fish food refills is a clear incentive for repeat business and encourages customers to purchase their in-house brand, thereby fostering loyalty. The consistent praise for the store's wide selection of "beautiful fish" and comprehensive "aquarium supplies" acts as a strong form of organic promotion through word-of-mouth, positioning it as the "best fish store in Knoxville." This positive reputation for product variety and quality is a significant draw. While specific advertising campaigns are not detailed, the store's emphasis on a broad range of fish and supplies, coupled with the savings offered by the rewards program, likely forms the core of its customer acquisition and retention strategy. The positive interactions with "polite and professional staff" (excluding the owner in one instance) also contribute to a favorable impression, encouraging customers to return. However, the highly negative customer experience with the owner, publicly described as "EXTREMELY rude," represents a significant counter-promotion. Such highly critical feedback, especially when associated with a key figure in the business, can quickly spread through local communities and online platforms, potentially deterring new customers. While the store offers compelling products and valuable programs, the inconsistency in customer service, particularly from a management level, can undermine these promotional efforts. Therefore, while Tennessee Water Gardens actively promotes through its reward program and product excellence, the varying customer service experiences must be considered by potential patrons when evaluating their visit.

Apr 09, 2025 · Cynthia BeetsOwner is EXTREMELY rude. It was my first time there. She was upset because I didn’t put my name on a board to get help to pick out pond plants. I had no clue about this board. I watched other people before me just get them. And go pay for them. She took the plants from me. And scolded me like I was a child. The guy who rang me up however, was EXTREMELY nice. I specifically asked if him she was the owner and because he confirmed that she indeed was…. I won’t be back. She’s legit awful and probably needs medication.

Found the same model filter on Amazon for $250 less asked the guy if they price match he said they were the cheapest showed him my phone with the filter he was showing us and he said we'll guess you should do that then. Will never go here again.
