The worst, most atrocious, deplorable, and downright corrupt pet care I have EVER witnessed in my life. Just to name a few issues: Their african gray (arguably the most intelligent bird in the world by the way) is sitting on a tiny perch in the open for anyone to tease, taunt, and feed him garbage (including french fries that I witnessed a child feeding him). The bird has very obvious and untreated fatty liver disease; his beak is deformed, overgrown, and cracking. The bird is visibly shaking in pain. The final image is a comparison of the shape of what an african gray's beak is SUPPOSED to look like. Note the difference in the space between the upper and lower jaw, and the difference in texture. Two amazon parrots in a travel-sized cage that they can barely stand in, both severely overweight from a poor seed diet and no room to exercise, clipped wings and tails, etc. A very obvious front for a puppy mill; overpriced and dirty puppies of 2 or more crammed in tiny cabinets with a glass front like a disgusting display case for toy figures. Rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, rats, parakeets, ALL in open enclosures for any customer to feed them whatever garbage they have in their hands (like the french fries I witnessed the african gray being fed), or to get bit if they so desire. Very unsafe for animals and humans alike. I can't even begin to describe all of the absolutely appalling things that I see here. There is simply not enough time in the world, I could go on and on forever. With how much more accessible knowledge is to the greater public these days, I am reminded that a lot of these issues can be learned about by a simple google search, and are EXTREMELY BASIC pet care practices. As a pet owner of multiple different species, it saddens me that places like this continue to have a platform as well as the funding to miseducate and mislead people in the world of pet care. This is dangerous at best, and downright deplorable at worst. If you care at all about animals, DO NOT SHOP HERE. This place is dirty, unethical, and unfit to house ANY animal, temporary or otherwise.

Friendly Pets Introduce
Friendly Pets is a pet store located at 625 Friendly Center Rd, Greensboro, NC 27408, USA. They can be contacted at (336) 294-8101 or +1 336-294-8101. While categorized as a "Pet Store Near Me," it is crucial for potential customers to be aware of extremely negative feedback and serious allegations raised in recent customer reviews regarding the store's animal care practices and customer service.
One highly critical review describes witnessing severely concerning conditions for various animals in the store. These allegations include an African Grey parrot with signs of untreated fatty liver disease, housed in an open area where customers could feed it inappropriate items. The review also mentions two Amazon parrots kept in an undersized cage, appearing overweight with clipped wings and tails.
Furthermore, the reviewer expresses strong concerns that Friendly Pets operates as a front for a puppy mill, describing overpriced and reportedly unhealthy puppies confined in small, glass-fronted enclosures. Similar concerns are raised for other small animals like rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, and rats, as well as birds like parakeets, allegedly kept in open enclosures accessible to customer feeding, posing risks to both animal and human safety.
Another customer shared a detailed negative experience related to purchasing two Holland Lop bunnies. This account describes issues with gender identification of the rabbits, lack of proper documentation (pedigrees), and extremely poor customer service, including rude behavior and misinformation from staff and the manager. The reviewer also suggests that a "pedigreed" sticker was removed from the rabbit enclosure after inquiries were made about the paperwork.
Based on these alarming and detailed customer reviews, there are significant concerns regarding the welfare of the animals at Friendly Pets and the professionalism of their customer service. Potential customers who prioritize ethical treatment of animals and respectful customer interactions are strongly advised to consider these experiences before choosing to shop at Friendly Pets. The information suggests a potentially distressing environment for the animals and unreliable practices regarding their sale and care.
Given the severity of the issues raised, it is recommended that local users exercise extreme caution and consider alternative pet stores in the Greensboro area. No information regarding a positive environment, specific beneficial services, unique features, or promotional offers could be extracted from the provided reviews.

Feb 26, 2025 · Kat ShullTHIS IS MY EXPERIENCE PURCHASING 2 BUNNIES: I’ve been here before and I swore I’d never come back. But they were the only place I could find with good quality holland lop bunnies and my boyfriend and I so badly wanted one. On 2/7/25 I went in and picked out a beautiful baby. I didn’t know the gender until I got to the register and asked. She looked beneath him and told me he was a boy. I didn’t get any other paper upon purchasing him only a receipt with my signature of the transaction. Which I thought was weird since the website and tank stated they were “pedigreed” but wasn’t worried about it. My boyfriend and I fell in love with him when we got home. On 2/10/25 I went back and got another. I asked more questions. I was really looking for another boy so I asked for help. I was told by the worker that the bunnies with red markings in their ear were girls. And the ones with blue markings were boys. There were two bunnies that weren’t marked and no one could tell me their gender properly! I was also told they didn’t keep any records or files on the bunnies nor even their genders! I ended up bonding with a sweet silver bunny with a red markings and purchased her. The next day while looking at them I was very curious on their age. I remembered on the tank they were in there was a big orange sticker just underneath the price tag stating they were “Pedigreed” if you don’t know what this means for bunnies this is basically the bare minimum of information on the bunny. Breed, color, sex, birth date, basically all that good stuff you want to know about a pet you are buying for $200! I called to ask about the pedigrees and if I could have mine for the two bunnies I purchased (thinking it was my fault for not asking before) the manager and workers acted confused on what I was asking for. And rudely hung up in my face twice. The manager herself didn’t even know of the 2nd bunny I literally just purchased saying “we just got her in on the 10th I don’t know what bunny you’re talking about” when the same bunny was there at the store on the 7th when I purchased the first one! I also was told (without even asking) that they get the bunnies from a little girl and her mom that breeds them in Winston Salem and that the boy I had got came from an actual breeder. weird or her to let me know that in my opinion. They told me to come back to retrieve both their pedigrees in which I did drove another hour up there and received yet again poor customer service again. Had to wait 20 minutes to speak to the manager. When I finally got to speak with her she handed me what looked like a fake print off of a “certificate” with barley any information on it she told me the girl bunny I had got did not have one only the boy. (So I literally know nothing about her not even her age) I then looked at the “certificate” and asked why “Buck” was crossed off and replaced with “Doe” the MANAGER said “it’s because I looked at him and thought he was a girl”….why would you as a manager (not breeder) mess with information that came from a breeder? And when I looked at the tank holding the bunnies guess what was missing…the big orange sticker stating that they have pedigrees! They for sure took it off when I called in asking about them. How do you offer and sell something you literally know jock about? I’m honestly really very fed up with this store I will never come back here awful experience, terrible communication and customer service, many weird, rude, and ignorant workers. I question how this store is even still up and running. I might honestly take my complaint higher up.
Feb 13, 2025 · Olyvia HeiligI mean the absolute WORST pet store I’ve ever been to. I got a Golden Retriever from her from the get go they are kept in TINY pins that are filled with pee and poop and never cleaned, he got a infection as soon as I got him and when he was 4 months he starts having seizures. Now he’s on medication for the rest of his life so he doesn’t have a seizure if I miss one day he has one. Theses dogs are treated horribly. PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT THE COMPANY! They will not give me a refund as promised for any problems under a year and are the worst people I’ve ever dealt with. PLEASE DO NOT GO IN TO THE STORE. They use puppy mills and abuse the dogs. I’m not one to make posts like this but little Cooper is the sweetest dog I’ve ever met and he doesn’t deserve to have a life like this just because of someone’s financial Gain.
Nov 27, 2024 · Dawson BergondoI have so many things to say about the poor puppies here. 1-the boxes are small & overcrowded. 2- that German Shepard (pic below) appears to be like 6 months old & needs room to run but it probably has been stuck in that cage its whole life & his price is $2700 obo. 3- all puppies were $1900 & up most being $2700+. 4- the brand new babies have like 6 puppies in a box & some with new INCISIONS from being spayed or neutered at a tiny age!! & other puppies biting all over them with the poor babies need to heal! 5- dogs shouldn’t have to drink from rat water bottles. 6- the puppies were eating each others poop quicker than it could fall through the wire with all the pee. this puppy mill needs to be SHUT DOWN. End of story.
Mar 04, 2025 · Heather RatleyI purchased a Yorkshire Terrier on 4/12/24 the store named him Yoshi his new name is Symba. I have all his records and he is also registered with American Canine Association (ACA). I want to share my great experience with this store and the staff. Reading the reviews I almost didn’t come by to check them out, I had a bad experience with purchasing a yorkipoo from a breeder (long story short my dog had past I only had her for 4 days and she was 8wks. My kids and I were traumatized, I put out a lot of money and had to get attorneys involved so I was hesitant about going through this again. However my girls were ready for another dog and I kept calling Friendly pets and looking on their Facebook account for Yorkshire Terriers). I’m so glad I didn’t just go based off the reviews. My experience was great!! I was able to do puppy play time for 10 minutes, the staff was so knowledgeable, very nice although I don’t remember the guy name (maybe Andrew) and the owner son everyone made me feel welcome or didn’t mind answering questions. Shoutouts to Sheena she is the store manager she was very knowledgeable, patient with me, she made me feel absolutely comfortable with asking all the questions I had. She explained everything in detail (all of his records and paperwork) not one time did she seem annoyed or aggravated with me. They even groomed him before I left with him and they give you coupons. We are so in love with Symba, he’s a happy dog, so full of life and energy. He does well with my daughters, it took no time for him to adjust to his new home with us. He’s very active and we love him so much. If you’re looking for a new puppy please try them out the reviews will have you nervous at first but go experience them for yourself you’ll be happy you did. I will definitely be purchasing from Friendly Pet again. Here are so pictures of Symba.
