I've been shopping here for a few years and I've always loved seeing all the different birds while picking up toys and food. I recently decided to adopt a sun conure,Jimin, and she's one of the best decisions I've made! They had me visit her a few times to make sure we were a good fit. I had lost one of my conures a few months prior and I was really nervous about adopting an adult. I wasn't sure if my other sun conure would accept here. The staff at Bird Hut were very comforting and understanding. Jimin didn't want to step up or let anyone touch her. By the time I adopted her, she would step up occasionally (thanks to the staff). It's been a couple months now and she steps up, always wants kisses and scritches and she talks! She gets along great with my other sun conure as well. I don't know what her life was like before Bird Hut, but I know it was good at Bird Hut and I believe that made the transition so much easier. This place is wonderful!

Sep 17, 2024 · Erryn AtwoodI drive about 20 miles just to bring my parrots here; nail trims. They are very knowledgeable about birds, they have many great birds to purchase, the birds habitats are very clean and they have a huge assortment of toys and feed. Highly recommended.
Nov 06, 2024 · MichelleM Smith68I would give 0 stars if I could. I'd put off writing this review for 3 months, but after a recent encounter with Brian, it validated my gut feeling. I went in specifically to look at a cockatoo (Angel) with a serious interest in adopting. On my first visit, I wasn't greeted at all, and after standing in front of Brian waiting for him to finish what he was doing for almost 10 minutes, no “I’ll be with you in a moment” or anything, I finally just asked if I could look at her. He just said “yep” and that was it. So I clarified, “so… can somebody take her out for me?” He did, wordlessly, and we proceeded to visit. She was extremely sweet and I decided right then I was serious about bonding and adopting her. I put a hold on her, I would visit her 5 times (I agree with this policy, btw) On a subsequent visit, I was helped by Theresa, who was extremely helpful. She brought Angel to a play area so we could handle her in an area she felt comfortable. The next visit, I asked Brian if I could get Angel out again and he told me just to open her cage. She would not step up for me, I didn't want to push her boundaries. But I still wanted to visit, and knew that if he could get her out, she'd feel comfortable. He just said "Well, if she likes you, she'll come out." If you have birds you know this couldn't be further from the truth. A bird who doesn't know you won't always step up. My 24 year old cockatiel adores most people but would never step up in his cage. 5th visit, I was told that one of my visits (a time Brian was there) wasn't recorded. So I came a 6th time when he was not there. They wouldn't sell until he was there, but nobody told me this prior. So SEVENTH visit, I'd borrowed a truck and got childcare to make this happen. Brian proceeded to let us stand around for almost 30 minutes, helping other people who came in after. When I asked any question whatsoever about moving ahead with the process, he responded with “Yeah?” or “And?” or other such flabbergasted utterances accompanied by a blank stare or no acknowledgment at all. Like we hadn’t discussed this, or as though everything I asked was utterly inane. Fast forward another 20 minutes, we closed the deal and I got far away from there. 3 months later, my bird fell ill. I immediately took her to the vet where it was initially suspected that she had a heart problem. The situation got worse and worse, and she was put in the ICU. There were a lot of health history questions I could not answer, so I called Bird Hut hoping they could contact the previous owner, or maybe even answer some of my questions. I talked to a staff member who said she'd have Brian call me. 2 days, bird in critical condition, no call. Called back. 4 days later, no call. Ironically, I ran into Brian at the vet, and he completely pretended not to recognize me. I called out to him, twice, because he pretended not to hear me. He made up some BS about not getting my messages. So I wrote my number on a card. Do you think he called? I'm not saying it's Bird Hut's fault my bird got sick. We still haven't figured it out, though the vet suspects something has been going on a long time. She could have had a dormant virus, or an underlying condition we didn't know about. Birds get sick—it happens. Point is, Brian had a chance to aid in the vet's efforts to save her life, and chose not to. There are so many 1 star reviews for people receiving sick birds, and no recourse. Once he had my almost 3k, he never wanted to talk to me again. There are also many 1 star reviews for unfriendliness and rude treatment, to which he has a canned response of "we appreciate feedback and will do better." There’s even a review from a person whose vet said he frequently sees sick birds from Bird Hut. I almost never write bad reviews. In fact, somebody has to prove time and time again that they will not take the opportunity to improve. I LOVE my bird and she's been so happy in her new home. But seriously, don't give them your money.
Oct 22, 2024 · Shay EmmonsLove this place…they always have a nice array of beautiful birds and the staff and owner are passionate and very knowledgeable about what they do. I visited a few bird stores in my area and this one by far had the largest selection of birds and cages. I visited over a period of a few months before I found my new companion ‘Kiko,’ a social, loving green cheek conure. I appreciate the fact they require clients to visit their chosen bird multiple times before taking them home. From my personal experience, this helped make sure you & the bird are compatible, warm-up to each other and makes going home smoother because the bird knows you. Thank you Bird Hut for my sweet little Kiko, we love him💛
Sep 11, 2024 · Marisa HernandezPlace is ok, small area to park. I but my parrots food here and recently bought a cage, I did not receive any help in loading it, they gladly took my money though.
