I have been to many reptile stores and this is the filthiest one I've ever seen. Right when you walk in it reeks of urine. I'm assuming they must have mice or rats in the back. And if their rodent enclosures are anywhere as bad as the reptile enclosures, then that would explain the smell. There are dead dubia in bowls, rotten salads, multiple animals with stuck shed. Feces all over the enclosures, and I do mean ALL over, ample amounts!!! They look like they haven't been cleaned in months or even a year or two. It takes a lot of neglect to get the enclosures that dirty. They must not have been cleaned for a very long time. It would not surprise me at all if all of their animals are ridden with parasites because of how dirty the enclosures are and how lethargic some of their big monitors are. I was skeptical to even buy substrate. They have substrate bagged up, it looks like they bought actual substrate and then put it into their own bags and wrote the name on it. It would not surprise me in the least if it was infested with mites or other invasive parasites, some of it even looked moldy. I would never trust buying anything from this store at all. If every reptile store in the area closed down and this was the only one open, I still wouldn't buy a thing from there. How is this place open? Is anyone able to contact the humane society or PETA? If I knew how to report them I would. ITS THAT BAD!!!!

Based on recent customer feedback available online, it is important for potential customers to be aware of some significant concerns that have been raised regarding the store's environment and animal welfare. Multiple reviewers describe the store as being unclean, with a strong odor of urine upon entering. These reviews mention the presence of deceased dubia roaches, rotten food, and substantial amounts of feces in the animal enclosures, suggesting infrequent cleaning.
Customers have also reported seeing multiple animals with stuck shed and some appearing lethargic. There are concerns about potential parasite infestations due to the described conditions of the enclosures. One reviewer expressed skepticism about the store's bagged substrate, suggesting it might be repackaged and potentially contaminated.
The overall sentiment expressed in these reviews is one of significant concern for the well-being of the animals, with some reviewers explicitly stating they would not purchase anything from this store, even if it were the only option available. The stark contrast between the low star rating implied by the reviews and any potentially higher rating seen elsewhere is also highlighted as a point of suspicion.
Prospective customers are advised to consider these recent, publicly available reviews when deciding whether to visit Arizona Reptile Center for their reptile-related needs.

Jun 29, 2024 路 Hailey Voorhees (Shedim)I'm not usually one to write a bad review, but I feel obligated to do so on behalf of the animals being sold here. I don't think it's exaggerating to say that many of them are being abused. The animal enclosures were absolutely filthy - most had old shed, piles of feces, and rotten food. If water was present in the dishes (there usually wasn't), it was soiled. Many of the animals looked ill and malnourished. We were greeted at the door by the overwhelming stench of ammonia and it lingered on our clothing when we left. There were signs of neglect everywhere. Snakes are typically hardy creatures and their care is straightforward, it takes a profound level of carelessness to bring them to that condition. We wouldn't be surprised if there are diseases present in their collection with such poor tank hygiene. The 4.7 review simply has to be inflated somehow, because this place isn't worth one star let alone 4. We left feeling sick and we sincerely hope this place isn't in business much longer.
Dec 19, 2024 路 Spencer ChristensenPlace was horrible.. stopped in to get food for our snake never been here before and immediately the smell was so overwhelming i almost left.. I been to plenty reptile stores but this was just so sad.. not only was the smell bad and very dirty but the animals looked very neglected.. the guy was very rude and unwelcoming.. will not be returning..

Oct 04, 2024 路 Fidel ChavezSuch a great variety! It鈥檚 so cool too just visit all the reptiles. The staff are friendly and really compassionate about their animals. They have the coolest displays. I really loved that the place was organized, it did not have a bad odor, and it was spacious to get around. When entering be sure to read the signs. For example, do not tap the glass or nod your head at different animals. Be respectful. I would stay most of the place is handicap accessible but there are some aisle that are smaller. The prices are great! Super cool place!
