This vet is one of very few in Miami willing to TNR community cats at no charge to customers (via grant). They’re very reliable, provide good service and we’ve never had an issue with any of the dozens of cats we’ve taken there. If only more Miami vets would be willing to dedicate even one day per week (this vet does 3 days) it would make such a huge impact for us community cat caretakers. Also I saw a comment about a bad ear tip? (We have to beg him to make our ear tips more noticeable, so not sure what that was about). We appreciate you, thank you Pets & Vets!!

Nov 20, 2024 · Tina JonesI was able to bring my dog in on the same day he was sick. He received good care. The doctor is knowledgeable. Staff is friendly. Prices are reasonable. This is my new vet!
Dec 07, 2024 · Jerilyn WilderI am beyond happy with the care my dog received at this veterinary center. Dr Javier is amazing! After a frustrating experience with a well-known national chain that pushed unnecessary exams and charged ridiculous prices, it was such a relief to find an honest and trustworthy vet. They truly care about the well-being of the animals rather than just making money. The staff took the time to explain everything clearly and didn’t recommend anything unnecessary. I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for genuine care for your pet!
Sep 05, 2024 · VanessaDoctor Javiar is truly one of the kindest people I’ve met. He has poured his heart into every pet I’ve brought him and he always amazes me with the level of understanding he has for so many different topics. It is obvious he has dedicated his life to expanding his knowledge of his practice. He is truly raising the bar and setting a high standard. I am so grateful for the care he’s given my multiple pets and it’s worth the hour long drive. Attached is a picture of my dog getting acupuncture. Her sister, the poodle, tagged along to get her eyes looked at.
May 19, 2023 · LITTLERACERWhen I first went to visit Dr. Andreu with my senior dog, I was impressed in the manner that he took action. Being nervous about my dog’s well being, I didn’t question him. That said, I was never given an estimate for the work being done or the meds given, including an antibiotic that was not needed. When he was finished he simply presented me with a bill for $705. I’ve never had any proceedure or work done by a vet without first understanding the costs involved. I let that go thinking I was in good hands. He scheduled an ultrasound of my dog’s heart since he noted a murmur, which other vets incredibly failed to notice in recent visits. I agreed to this since I was thinking of having needed oral surgery performed on her. For this, and the surgery I had to chase him and his staff for estimates. It can take various calls for the phone to get answered, numerous emails (those were never responded to) and many interminable hold times when you’re lucky enough to get someone on the phone. When I went to pick up my dog who’d been caged from 9am - 5pm post the ultrasound, I found her leash incorrectly attached to her collar - they apparently took her out to relieve herself but couldn’t figure out how to simply latch one piece to another. She runs when frightened so I’m grateful she wasn’t hurt. She was still shaking and frightened when we got home. When I turned her around to see where they’d shaved her, I found she was nicked and hurt. See pictures. After this unpleasant episode, I spoke to the person that had recommended Dr. Andreu and learned that he doesn’t give estimates, charges according to mood, and his billing in general is a mess. We compared notes and bills and I was overcharged across the board, by a substantial amount. I reached out to him to let him know that I had been overcharged and that he may have incorrectly estimated that I was a wealthy person. No response. About $1500 in his pocket without the very needed surgery that it was intended for. He may be a fine veterinarian, but his business practices are far from fine - they are downright unethical. Needless to say, I never took her back.
