It is so easy to give a bad review when your pet ends up dying at the clinic. But as a dedicated 24/7 emergency hospital, the statistical chances of patients dying is much higher than your neighborhood vet that does routing checks and vaccinations 80% of the time. People give 5 stars to those places easily, but guess what? When your pet needs urgent attention to save their lives, your regular vet won't be there for you. They might accept emergency appointments, but most won't accept hospitalizations because they don't have 24/7 personnel and the facilities for that. Who is going to be there for your pet? St. Francis hospital will. We should be ashamed of calling ourselves animal lovers and the number of 24/7 animal hospitals in a 25-mile radius of Hollywood, with people willing to be working in the middle of the night, is probably only one, St. Francis. For this true commitment to save the lives of our beloved pets, I give St. Francis an extra star. And for their commitment to have fair, if not, some of the lowest prices, I give them another extra star. And I will take off stars from other hospitals for not having these commitments. I took my old beagle a week ago after discovering him vomiting a peeing a lot in the middle of the night. He was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease, late stage. His brother had died of acute kidney disease 4 years earlier, so I knew this might be the way he goes, but nonetheless I had to give him a chance to see if he would recover and I had him hospitalized on IV fluid treatment for 3 days. This is not cheap, but I know how much other clinics have charged me 4 years ago for his brother, and St. Francis was not greedy in their prices. His blood indicators didn't lower as much as we hoped. He was discharged and he got 3 good days, and then he started vomiting his food, undigested, and rejected further food. At this stage, it is pointless, you can't give him medicine if he won't eat, and he started getting weaker. His body was shutting down. So, this morning I took him back for his last vet visit and last day in this world, and it was painful for me, but not for my dog, and it was quick, and St. Francis personnel was kind and the price was again, not greedy at all. We must understand that the service that St. Francis provides is unique, and it takes a lot of sacrifice to maintain a 24/7 emergency hospital for animals. It is a disservice to all animal owners to penalize St. Francis unfairly just because you had an emotional day, because we need more hospitals like this, that will be there for us, in the middle of the night, in the moment we need it most. Thanks for your commitment to save our pet's lives.

Nov 07, 2024 · Charles KeledjianMy 10 and a 1/2-year-old Boston terrier had a bladder stone removal surgery at DPC veterinarian in Davie by Doctor Loduca. I was informed after the surgery that the surgery was extremely intense and that her bladder had to be worked on twice during that surgery. Meaning that? After completing the surgery, the first time they found that there was hematomas and stones still inside the bladder, so they had to re-enter the bladder. Turn it inside out, scrape a clean and complete the surgery. I was told that I need to find a recovery center for her and they recommend . Saint Francis, where Doctor loduca Is the nighttime surgeon and physician? I was skeptical about going to saint Francis.I've been going to Doctor Stone at Pasadena lakes for over 35 years. I was Happy that the facility was close by the house. It wasVery clean, very quiet. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Even though I wasn't, I was nervous and concerned about my dog. The staff reassured me that everything would be OK.after talking to doctor Loduca, I was informed that she would have to stay there for 5 days. When it was time to pick her up? I was extremely happy on how well that my dog was able to move. After such an extensive surgery and recovery and the prices were extremely fair especially. Since neighboring veterinarians are now almost all corporate veterinarians. Saint Francis is a old school veterinarian hospital that there aren't many in South Florida like I really appreciate their staff and their doctors. Job well done from saint francis Hospital
Jun 20, 2024 · Rick HarveyI recently took my puppy to the veterinarian for constipation symptoms. However, I was extremely disappointed with the level of care we received. The doctor and staff had unfriendly and unprofessional attitudes, which made me feel uncomfortable. Even worse, the doctor did not even introduce himself before examining my dog. He simply walked into the room and proceeded to tell me that my dog was unable to urinate because "his tail was down when he squatted." The only solution he offered was to insert a catheter. I was shocked when they took my playful puppy away for the procedure without running any tests. I could hear him crying in pain from the back room. The assistant even questioned why the doctor didn't sedate the dog. When they finally brought my injured dog back to the room, I was horrified. He had two catheters, one of which was broken and bent, and the other was not appropriate for an eight-week-old puppy. Both were covered in blood and blood clots. My poor puppy could barely move after that. The doctor then recommended surgery and told me that my puppy might not survive. I noticed that he seemed confused and disoriented, and he even left the room without finishing the exam. I demanded to take my dog with me, and the doctor became upset. I immediately took my puppy to another veterinarian who ran several tests and discovered that the catheter had been inserted incorrectly, causing severe injuries that were beyond repair. My puppy died because of the veterinarian's negligence. If you care about your pets, do not take them to this clinic. I regret ever stepping foot in that place. My puppy would still be alive if I had taken him elsewhere.
Dec 29, 2023 · jesus castroI Cannot Recommend this place Unfortunately, my experience has left me deeply dissatisfied, and I feel compelled to express my concerns. During the last moments of my pet’s treatment, I observed several issues that contributed to my negative experience: 1.Lack of Continuous Monitoring: In critical situations, it is crucial for veterinary staff to maintain close observation of patients. I noticed that at the end, when my dog was deteriorating, nobody was paying attention to him. This raised significant concerns about his care and well-being during his final moments. 2. Communication: While I appreciate the efforts made to keep me informed, I felt that there could have been more proactive communication regarding my pet condition, especially as he declined. When I inquired about the possible cause of death (for 2 months), I only received information about the treatments administered to him, which left me feeling unsatisfied and confused. 3. Emotional Impact: The loss of my dog has had a profound effect on my heart and well-being. I am struggling to cope with this experience, and I believe that the level of attention and care provided during his last moments could have made a significant difference. Due to these factors, I regret to inform you that I cannot recommend your clinic based on this experience. I believe that improvements in monitoring protocols and communication could greatly enhance the care provided to patients in critical situations.
Sep 16, 2024 · Diana CadenaI am so grateful for the staff at St. Francis Animal Hospital for saving the life of my TNR colony cat Scootchy who had a severe injury to her tail and needed amputation. The surgery was a success and they worked with me to make it happen. Last year they saved the life of my 15 year old cat and she's healthier than ever.
