It's sucks that you can not go into the dog park because. They have it close. You gotta have a special key card to open the gate to get inside the dog park. It's ridiculous that it's supposed to be open to the public, and it's not. It's restricted. And the people that are there. Are extremely rude, disrespectful, and racist

Welcome to Windmill Dog Park

For dedicated dog owners in Coconut Creek and surrounding areas of Florida, discovering a truly outstanding and secure off-leash environment for their furry companions is a top priority. Windmill Dog Park, nestled within the expansive Windmill Park, offers just such a place. This facility stands out as a meticulously maintained, members-only dog park, providing a controlled and enriched setting where dogs can play, socialize, and thrive. It's a highly valued resource for responsible pet owners who prioritize safety, cleanliness, and a welcoming atmosphere for their canine friends.

Windmill Dog Park is designed with the well-being of dogs and the convenience of their owners in mind. It boasts separate, generously sized areas for both small and large dogs, ensuring that pups of all sizes can enjoy off-leash freedom safely and comfortably. This thoughtful separation minimizes potential conflicts and allows for more appropriate play dynamics. Beyond the spacious play zones, the park is equipped with an impressive array of amenities, including private dog wash stations, agility equipment for active pups, and plenty of natural shade – a crucial feature in sunny Florida.

While access to Windmill Dog Park requires a membership and key fob, this system is in place to enhance the safety and quality of the experience for all users. It helps ensure that only vaccinated and well-regulated dogs enter the park, contributing to a healthier and more harmonious environment. This commitment to maintaining high standards has earned the park a reputation for being "meticulously kept" and "clean well maintained." For Florida locals, Windmill Dog Park offers a premium experience, providing a secure, engaging, and enjoyable space for their beloved pets to exercise and socialize.

Location and Accessibility
Windmill Dog Park is officially located at 700 Lyons Rd, Coconut Creek, FL 33066, USA, within the larger Windmill Park complex. This strategic address places it conveniently for residents throughout Coconut Creek and adjacent communities, offering easy access to a premium dog park experience. Windmill Park itself is a well-known recreational hub in the city, making the dog park a recognizable and straightforward destination.

The dog park is situated within Windmill Park, often described as being "just past the dog sculpture at the end of the parking lot." This indicates ample and easily accessible parking for visitors. Once at the park, the dog areas are "fully fenced" with "double-gated entrance," providing essential security measures to prevent dogs from accidentally exiting while handlers enter or leave.

A key aspect of accessibility for Windmill Dog Park is its controlled entry system. "Access to Windmill Dog Park requires a membership and a key fob for every pup who enters the park." This means it is not an open public park for immediate, free entry. To gain access, prospective users must go through a registration process with the City of Coconut Creek Parks and Recreation Department to obtain a key fob. This system, while requiring an initial step, ensures a regulated and potentially safer environment, as it often involves verifying vaccinations. The park also features "6-foot wide sidewalks," enhancing internal accessibility for all visitors.

Great place to go and enjoy any number of activities. Loved seeing all the dogs playing and romping around in their areas. This is so much more than a dog park though. Walking/jogging/bicycling paths, workout stations, tennis and basketball courts and plenty of areas to sit and just take it all in.

We absolutely love windmill dog park! We are not Coconut Creek residence so we pay the $70 registration fee but we think it is completely worth it! We have peace of mind that all dogs are up to date on their shots and their is always a park ranger on the premises. The parks are beautiful, the most well maintained and shadiest dog park we’ve been able to find on the south Florida area. The large dog side has a ton of trees which provide amazing shade and the small dog side is pretty large (it almost feels larger than the large dog side). There is agility equipment on both sides which is fun if there aren’t any other dogs to play with. There are restrooms right outside the fence which is an amenity not found at most dog parks. There is also a shower stall in both the large and small side to hose your dog off which is nice on a hot day. We highly recommend this park to anyone who has a pup that loves to run and play with others!
