In Cudahy, WI, Warnimont Dog Park stands out as an exceptional local resource, offering a unique blend of open space and natural, wooded trails. This article aims to provide a clear, engaging, and informative overview of Warnimont Dog Park, highlighting its unique features, accessibility, and why it has become a cherished spot for the local dog community in the Milwaukee area.

Warnimont Dog Park is a key component of the larger Warnimont Park, managed by the Milwaukee County Parks system. Unlike some purely open-field dog parks, Warnimont offers a diverse landscape that truly enriches the dog park experience. It's an environment where dogs can explore, sniff, and play in both expansive grassy areas and shaded, wooded trails. This variety caters to different play styles and activity levels, ensuring that all dogs, from the most energetic sprinters to the curious explorers, find something to enjoy. The park has built a reputation for having a friendly community of regulars, making it a welcoming place for both new visitors and long-time patrons. It鈥檚 a space where responsible dog ownership is evident, contributing to a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone.

Located at 6100 S Lake Dr, Cudahy, WI 53110, USA, Warnimont Dog Park boasts a highly accessible location for residents of Cudahy and the surrounding Milwaukee County communities. Situated near Lake Michigan, the park benefits from being part of a larger recreational area, offering convenient access for those driving. Ample free parking is available nearby, making it easy to bring your dog to the park without the hassle of searching for a spot. The park operates from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily, providing extensive hours that accommodate various schedules, from early morning walks to evening play sessions. While the address is straightforward, it's always helpful for first-time visitors to know they are looking for the dedicated dog exercise area within the broader Warnimont Park. Remember that a valid Milwaukee County Dog Park Permit is required for entry, which is an important aspect of ensuring the park remains well-maintained and safe for all users.

Warnimont Dog Park, as part of the Milwaukee County Parks system, offers essential services designed to facilitate a safe and enjoyable off-leash experience. While it focuses on providing fundamental amenities for dog exercise and socialization, these services are crucial for maintaining the park's quality.

  • Off-Leash Dog Exercise Area: The primary service is a spacious, dedicated, and fully fenced off-leash area where dogs can run, play, and interact freely.
  • Separate Areas for Large and Small Dogs: To cater to the safety and comfort of all canine visitors, the park features distinct, securely fenced sections for large dogs and smaller breeds. This separation helps prevent potential conflicts and ensures a more relaxed experience for all pets.
  • Double-Gated Entrance: For added safety and to prevent accidental escapes, the entrances to the dog park areas are double-gated, providing an extra layer of security when entering and exiting.
  • Waste Disposal: The park is equipped with readily available garbage cans and often provides dog waste bags, encouraging responsible clean-up and helping to maintain the park's cleanliness.

Warnimont Dog Park offers several features and highlights that make it a standout destination for dog owners in Wisconsin. These attributes contribute significantly to its popularity and positive reputation:

  • Expansive and Diverse Terrain: The park encompasses approximately 5 acres, providing ample space for dogs to roam. What truly sets it apart is the diverse terrain, including both open grassy areas for high-energy play and a significant wooded section with a dedicated trail. This variety allows dogs to engage in different types of exercise and exploration.
  • Wooded Trail: A highly praised feature is the "nice trail that goes into the woods." This short grass trail wraps around a large gated area, offering a more engaging experience than just an open field. It allows owners and their dogs to enjoy a walk or a light hike, providing sensory enrichment and a different kind of physical activity.
  • Community of Regulars: Many visitors highlight the friendly and responsible nature of the regulars. This fosters a welcoming atmosphere where dogs can socialize positively and owners can connect with fellow pet enthusiasts.
  • Safety and Cleanliness: Despite its natural elements, the park is generally well-maintained, and many users commend the responsible dog ownership that contributes to a clean environment. The separate areas for large and small dogs, along with the double-gated entry, enhance safety.
  • Natural Enrichment Areas: The wooded areas provide natural "enrichment" for dogs, allowing them to explore scents and textures, which is vital for their mental stimulation.

As a Milwaukee County Parks facility, Warnimont Dog Park operates under a permit system that serves as a form of "special offer" by providing regulated and affordable access to multiple dog parks within the county. To utilize Warnimont Dog Park, visitors are required to have a valid Milwaukee County Dog Park Permit. These permits can be purchased annually or as daily passes. Annual permits for Milwaukee County residents are typically $30 for the first dog and $15 for each additional dog (up to three), while non-residents pay $80 for the first dog and $35 for subsequent dogs. Seniors and individuals with disabilities may also receive discounted rates. Daily passes are available for $5 per dog. These permits grant access to all designated Milwaukee County dog parks, not just Warnimont, which offers significant value for regular users. While there are no direct "promotions" in the traditional retail sense, the permit structure provides a cost-effective way for locals to enjoy a network of high-quality off-leash areas. It鈥檚 advisable to check the official Milwaukee County Parks website for the most current permit fees and purchase options, as they can sometimes vary or have special early-bird sales for annual permits.

A nice park that's fairly close to our house. I do recommend avoiding after a lot of rain or during the primary spring snow melt (unless you have time for a full dog bath immediately after!) as it gets VERY muddy. And it's kind of small compared to other dog parks in the area (we really miss Runway dog park that was over by the airport until it closed!!). But it's wooded so that's nice for the dogs, and I've never had any issues with aggressive dogs there so the regulars there are responsible dog owners which is great.

The park itself is great but the guests are terrible. People bring their aggressive dogs frequently to the point where I鈥檝e seen multiple dog fights. No one buys their dogs park pass and many dogs brought run around humping other dogs. The trails are nice and the woods are a nice touch, but many visitors don鈥檛 care if their dog attacks other dogs and will let their aggressive dogs roam free.

Beautiful place to let your dog run free. Great place to meet dogs and people. Everyone shares the same interest to share the experience of loving your puppies. Bring water and a towel if it wet. Let your puppy be a puppy. All the dogs enjoy the company of other dogs. Highly recommended

This is absolutely the best dog park I've ever taken the pup to. If needed, it has separate very open areas for large and small dogs. It also has beautiful wooded trails to explore, plenty of areas you can sit down and rest and your 4 legged buddy can get fresh water, and even readily available bags to pick up your doggy's poop (if you forget to bring your own).
