Good dog park for different sizes of dogs. Small, medium, large. Everyone was very friendly. Only thing I didn’t like was the gates to enter your specific area, all the latches were broken so you have to be careful when entering and exiting not to have a dog follow you and escape.

Tails & Trails Dog Park stands out as a valuable resource for Grandview residents and those in surrounding Missouri communities. It’s a place where dogs can freely express their natural instincts, whether it’s a spirited chase, a friendly sniff, or navigating some fun agility equipment. The park’s commitment to providing a clean and well-maintained environment, coupled with its thoughtful design, makes it a highly recommended destination for anyone looking to give their dog a fantastic outdoor adventure.
The Tails & Trails Dog Park is conveniently situated at 7600 E 139 St, Grandview, MO 64030, USA. Its location in Grandview, a southern suburb of Kansas City, makes it easily accessible for a wide range of Missouri residents. Ample parking is typically available, ensuring a smooth arrival and departure for visitors. The park is a key part of Grandview's commitment to providing recreational opportunities for all members of the family, including those with four legs.
One of the most practical aspects of Tails & Trails Dog Park is its generous operating hours. The park is open daily from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM during the warmer months (April 1 to October 31) and from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM during the cooler months (November 1 to March 31). These extensive hours provide flexibility for dog owners to visit early in the morning, after work, or on weekends, allowing plenty of time for their dogs to get the exercise and socialization they need. Its consistent availability makes it a reliable destination for daily walks and playdates.
Tails & Trails Dog Park is designed with the well-being and enjoyment of both dogs and their owners in mind, offering a range of beneficial services and amenities.
Separate Areas for Different Dog Sizes: A significant advantage, the park is segmented into three distinct, fenced areas to accommodate dogs of varying sizes: small, medium, and large. This crucial separation helps ensure safer and more comfortable play interactions, allowing dogs to engage with peers of similar stature and energy levels.
Dog Agility and Play Equipment: The park provides a variety of "play and training equipment" or "agility equipment," such as ramps or tunnels, that encourage physical activity and mental stimulation for dogs, adding an extra layer of fun to their visit.
Water Fountains: Hydration is essential, especially after energetic play. The park is equipped with drinking fountains specifically designed for dogs, ensuring they can easily quench their thirst.
Pet Waste Stations: To maintain a clean and hygienic environment, the park offers pet waste stations with complimentary bags and disposal receptacles, encouraging responsible clean-up by owners.
Plenty of Seating: For the comfort of human companions, there are numerous benches and seating areas throughout the park, allowing owners to relax and supervise their dogs' playtime.
What makes Tails & Trails Dog Park a standout choice for dog owners in the Missouri region are its specific features and the overall positive experience it provides.
Good Dog Park for Different Sizes of Dogs: As highlighted by satisfied visitors, the park's ability to cater to "Small, medium, large" dogs in their respective areas is a major highlight, promoting safer and more harmonious play.
Spacious Fenced Area: The park offers a "wide fenced area" or "plenty of room for the dogs to run around," allowing dogs ample space to run freely, chase, and burn off energy without feeling confined.
Neat and Tidy Environment: Visitors have consistently praised the park for being "neat and tidy," indicating a strong commitment to cleanliness and regular maintenance, which enhances the overall user experience.
Friendly Community: The atmosphere is generally very welcoming, with visitors noting that "Everyone was very friendly," which fosters a positive social environment for both dogs and their owners.
Variety of Play Equipment: The inclusion of various "exercise and dog playground equipment" ensures that dogs have more than just open space; they have engaging structures to interact with, promoting physical and mental well-being.
Accessibility: Its location within Grandview ensures easy access for local residents, making it a convenient option for regular dog park visits.
It is important to note, however, that one review mentioned an issue with gate latches being broken. While generally well-maintained, visitors should exercise caution and ensure gates are properly secured upon entry and exit to prevent escapes, and report any maintenance issues to the Grandview Parks & Recreation Department.
As a public facility managed by the City of Grandview's Parks & Recreation Department, Tails & Trails Dog Park typically does not offer traditional commercial "promotions" or "special offers" in the way a retail business might. Its primary benefit and "offer" to the community is the free provision of a high-quality, well-maintained, and spacious off-leash dog park.
However, the Grandview Parks & Recreation Department is known for hosting various community events throughout the year, some of which are specifically dog-friendly or take place at Tails & Trails Dog Park. A notable example is the annual "Howl-O-Ween" event, which has been held at the dog park, featuring costume contests for dogs and other festive activities. These events are often free and provide excellent opportunities for local dog owners to engage with the community and enjoy special themed activities with their pets. To stay informed about any upcoming dog-friendly events, programs, or special initiatives, Missouri residents are encouraged to regularly check the official City of Grandview Parks & Recreation website or their social media channels. This is the best way to discover opportunities that enhance your and your dog's experience at the park.

Good dog park for different sizes of dogs. Small, medium, large. Everyone was very friendly. Only thing I didn’t like was the gates to enter your specific area, all the latches were broken so you have to be careful when entering and exiting not to have a dog follow you and escape.
Mar 10, 2025 · Danielle WThe park was neat and tidy. Plenty of room for the dogs to run around. Didn't leave too many places to sneak off and smoke a j. That would be my biggest complaint. No trees for shade and none to hide behind while you smoke some cannabis!
Oct 09, 2022 · Kenneth LainTails and Trails Dog Park is an excellent park to walk and train your dog. It’s very close to the walking trails of Long View and Meadowmiere Parks. It sets next to the river and when the river flood the park is flooded.
Dec 22, 2023 · Lonnie McDonaldGreat dog park. Pretty clean, has agility and all dogs seem to get along. Has a path around the the dog park to walk around. Love how it also divides the dog by size.
Dec 08, 2020 · Stephanie VelascoThe park has a few separate gated areas for different sized dogs. Plus water fountains in each section for the dogs! I love how far from the road it is and it's in quiet place. My dogs love it!
