I'd return to this park, I'll start with that. We stopped on our way over the mountains and it was a great potty and "get the wiggles out before we keep driving for another two hours" session for our dog. It's easy to find and there's tons of parking, there are 2 pretty clean port-o-potties and the trash bin wasn't overflowing and everyone before us had picked up after their dogs. However, the fenced in park itself was a bit small, with no trees or obstacles, just flat grass. There was also a picnic table surrounded by living arches and it would have been a great place to sit and have a picnic if someone hadn't left a used condom on it. It's been two weeks and I'm still haunted by all the picnic tables I've sat at, wondering if they were similarly "decorated".

Accessibility to "Dogs on First" is a significant advantage, particularly for travelers. Visitors consistently note that the park is "easy to find" and offers "tons of parking." This ample, accessible parking ensures a stress-free arrival, allowing owners to quickly and safely transition their dogs from the car to the off-leash area. Services Offered

"Dogs on First" Off-Leash Dog Park in Sultan provides fundamental services designed to offer a practical and secure environment for off-leash canine activities. These services are essential for supporting responsible pet ownership and promoting dog welfare:

  • Dedicated Off-Leash Area: The primary service is providing a legally sanctioned and fully fenced space where dogs can run, play, and socialize without the restriction of a leash. This is vital for their physical exercise and mental stimulation.
  • Canine Hydration Access: The park is equipped with a water faucet, allowing owners to provide fresh water for their dogs during their playtime. This amenity is crucial for keeping dogs hydrated, especially during warmer weather or after vigorous activity.
  • Waste Management Support: The park typically includes trash bins for waste disposal, and while consistent availability of waste bags can sometimes vary, the presence of bins encourages owners to pick up after their dogs, contributing to a clean environment.
  • Portable Restroom Facilities: For the convenience of human visitors, the park provides access to portable restrooms (port-a-potties), which users have noted are generally "pretty clean." This is a thoughtful addition for longer visits.
  • Parking Facilities: Ample and easily accessible parking is available, making the park convenient for visitors to arrive and depart.
  • Socialization Opportunities: The park naturally serves as a gathering place for dogs and their owners, facilitating healthy canine socialization and fostering a sense of community among local pet enthusiasts.

While the park offers these key services, it's worth noting that it is described as a "flat grass" area without extensive features like agility equipment or separate small dog areas. However, its core offerings meet the essential needs for a safe and effective off-leash experience.

Features / Highlights

"Dogs on First" Off-Leash Dog Park, located within Osprey Park in Sultan, offers several key features that contribute to its appeal and functionality for local dog owners and those passing through:

  • Portable Restrooms for Humans: The presence of "2 pretty clean port-o-potties" is a welcome feature for human visitors, enhancing comfort during longer stays.

While the park is praised for its convenience and basic amenities, some feedback suggests areas where personal preparedness is still valuable. The lack of trees or obstacles within the fenced area means less natural shade or varied play surfaces, and the general cleanliness of seating areas relies on public etiquette. Despite these points, the core features make it a reliable and convenient option for off-leash exercise.

These events are often free or low-cost and are excellent opportunities for community engagement and pet welfare.
  • Volunteer Clean-up Drives: While not a promotion, opportunities to volunteer for park clean-up days are sometimes available. Participating in these initiatives is a way to contribute to the upkeep of a valuable community asset.

This is a pretty cool place for dogs, but the thing is that my dogs are pretty aggressive. Other than the one time my dogs got in a fight there this is pretty good place for your dogs to socialize or whatever.

Of course there are one or two people that don't take care of their dogs waste but in general it's a pretty clean and big space for the dogs to run and play with Bags and trash cans and water for the pups. There are human restrooms too.

Just a fenced in open field, great to take your dog to and let them run off leash. Also a smaller separate fenced in area for smaller dogs to run around.

Glad to have a dog park in this small town big enough for dogs to actually run. Only thing that sucks is very little shade when it gets hot.
