Welcome to Parks, Forestry and Open Space

For dog owners across Colorado, and particularly those in the vibrant community of Lakewood, finding an exceptional off-leash park that caters to their furry friends' diverse needs is a high priority. Look no further than Forsberg-Iron Spring Dog Park, a truly "magical" place nestled within the larger Forsberg-Iron Spring Park. This popular destination consistently earns rave reviews from locals, standing out as a top-tier facility for canine exercise, socialization, and pure unadulterated joy.

Forsberg-Iron Spring Dog Park isn't just another patch of grass; it's a thoughtfully designed and well-maintained environment that spans a considerable area, ensuring ample space for dogs of all sizes and energy levels. What sets it apart is its intelligent layout, featuring two separate fenced areas. This crucial design element allows owners to choose the perfect environment for their dog, whether they have a high-energy pup eager to sprint and play vigorously, or a more reserved canine that prefers a calmer, less crowded setting. This separation is highly appreciated by the community, contributing significantly to a safer and more enjoyable experience for everyone.

Beyond the generous space, the park boasts a dynamic terrain that adds an extra layer of fun for canine explorers. With a big hill that dogs love running "up and down," and a newly added agility course, there are plenty of opportunities for both physical exertion and mental stimulation. These features transform a simple outing into an engaging adventure, helping dogs burn off energy in a healthy and stimulating way.

What truly elevates Forsberg-Iron Spring Dog Park from good to exceptional, however, are the amenities that cater to the human companions as well. The presence of public restrooms is a convenience often overlooked but highly valued by visitors, making longer stays more comfortable. Coupled with a lot of room for parking, accessibility is a non-issue, ensuring that your trip to the park is stress-free from arrival to departure. It’s this combination of ample space, thoughtful separation for different dog temperaments, engaging features, and essential human amenities that solidifies Forsberg-Iron Spring Dog Park's reputation as a go-to destination for Lakewood's dog-loving community.

The park's location also offers a spectacular bonus: stunning views of the southern Front Range from the mountainside open space of Green Mountain. This picturesque backdrop enhances the overall experience, providing a beautiful setting for both dogs and their owners to enjoy Colorado's natural beauty. It's a place where exercise meets scenic enjoyment, making every visit a memorable one.

This is a great off-leash park. There are two separate parks in case you have a high energy pup or the opposite. There's plenty of space! My dogs love running up and down the big hill or playing with the newly added agility course. They also have public restrooms and a lot of room for parking!

Great dog park, amazing views. Me and my partner came from NY with our female rottie, and it was a great experience. She loved it, we loved it, just miss the cool upstate NY weather.

Great dog park! Gorgeous scenery and two sections. The active dog side has a small agility area and the other side is for less active dogs. Mostly dirt so it can get seriously muddy. Very friendly dogs and attentive owners when I went.
