First place I've seen with shade trees. Bathrooms are clean! With mirrors above the sinks, lots of toilet paper, foam soap, and air dryers and no graffiti! Yay! It is located further down the street by the baseball field, basketball and tennis courts and playground. A Yelp review said there are car break-ins! Please pay attention to your neighbors. Late Sunday morning, there were no aggressive dogs, and the park looked clean from any dog poop and stickers. They must be keeping up with the property. May want to bring some mosquito and fly repellant and a portable fan for days near and over 100°, though. Even in the shade, It's like a sauna! You are welcome to bring your own baby pool but must take it home wtih you. There is also an individual section between large and small dog parks, by the entrance that has a water hose to spray your pups down. There are 2 entrances, one at each end of the small dog park and 7 enjoyable bench areas, with one of the benches a swinging bench, and one right by the entrance, no individual pic, all sectioned nicely apart for privacy. I'd love to return!

Welcome to NRH Tipps Canine Hollow Dog Park
Hey there, Texas dog lovers! If you're searching for a premier spot to let your furry friend run, play, and socialize in the North Richland Hills area, look no further than NRH Tipps Canine Hollow Dog Park. This isn't just any dog park; it's a meticulously maintained oasis designed with both canines and their human companions in mind. Tucked away in North Richland Hills, it offers a refreshing escape where your dog can truly unleash their inner pup in a safe and welcoming environment.
Opened in 2006 and named in honor of dedicated community volunteers Don and Doris Tipps, Canine Hollow has consistently proven itself as a valuable asset to the local community. It's a place where dogs can enjoy expansive off-leash areas, practice their agility, and even get a rinse-off after a muddy play session. But it's not just about the dogs; the park’s commitment to cleanliness and comfort extends to owners too, with clean restrooms and ample seating under the shade.
Local visitors frequently laud NRH Tipps Canine Hollow for its excellent features. One enthusiastic reviewer noted, "First place I've seen with shade trees. Bathrooms are clean! With mirrors above the sinks, lots of toilet paper, foam soap, and air dryers and no graffiti! Yay!" This highlights the park's attention to detail, a rare find in many public spaces. Another happy customer shared, "Love this place but do be cautious during the seasons, the city shirts the water off during colder months so the pipes do not break. For the most part this park is very well kept, there are several waist bins and poo baggies with plenty of seating." These insights from regular users affirm the park's dedication to providing a clean, comfortable, and well-equipped space for the North Richland Hills community and their beloved pets.
Location and Accessibility
NRH Tipps Canine Hollow Dog Park is conveniently located at 7804 Davis Blvd, North Richland Hills, TX 76182, USA. Nestled within a larger park complex, it's easy to find and access for residents across North Richland Hills and the surrounding Tarrant County area. As one reviewer pointed out, it's "located further down the street by the baseball field, basketball and tennis courts and playground," making it part of a comprehensive recreational hub.
The park's hours of operation are generally from 7:00 AM to dusk daily. It's crucial to note that NRH Tipps Canine Hollow is closed every Wednesday from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM for scheduled maintenance. This routine closure is vital for ensuring the park remains pristine, safe, and enjoyable for all visitors. While the park is open daily, it is important to adhere to the dusk closure time, as entry or use after dark is a violation of park rules. Ample parking is available in designated spaces, making your arrival and departure smooth. It's always a good practice to check the City of North Richland Hills Parks and Recreation website for any temporary closures due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, particularly after heavy rainfall, to ensure the best experience for you and your dog.
Services Offered
-
Separate Off-Leash Areas: To cater to dogs of all sizes and temperaments, Tipps Canine Hollow features distinct, fully fenced sections. There's a spacious 2-acre area specifically designed for large dogs (over 35-40 pounds) and a 1-acre fenced area dedicated to smaller dogs (under 35-40 pounds), or frail/elderly dogs. This separation ensures that all dogs can play safely and comfortably with peers of similar size and play style.
-
Dog Washing Station: A unique and highly appreciated amenity is the dedicated dog washing station. Located between the large and small dog park sections, this area provides a water hose to spray down your pups, perfect for rinsing off mud or cooling down after a vigorous play session, though users are reminded to take any personal baby pools home with them.
-
Water Fountains: For both human and canine hydration, the park is equipped with multiple water fountains. While the water might be temporarily turned off during colder months to prevent pipe damage, as noted by a reviewer, these stations are a crucial resource during warmer Texas days.
-
Waste Stations with Baggies: To promote a clean and hygienic environment, the park provides numerous waste bins and complimentary plastic bags, making it easy and convenient for owners to clean up after their pets.
-
Clean Public Restrooms: A significant highlight for human visitors, the park boasts well-maintained and clean restrooms, complete with mirrors, ample toilet paper, foam soap, and air dryers, ensuring a comfortable experience.

Well-Maintained Grounds: Through regular weekly maintenance closures (every Wednesday morning), the city ensures the park remains clean, free of dog waste and stickers, and generally in excellent condition, contributing to a positive experience for all.
-
Agility Equipment: While not explicitly detailed in all public information, user reviews and general dog park standards suggest that such a highly-rated park may include some basic agility equipment for dogs to enjoy, promoting physical activity and mental stimulation.

Jun 14, 2025 · Tressa GautneyIm a regular visitor to this dog park and am thoroughly impressed. The park is well-maintained with plenty of space for dogs to run and play. There were separate areas for small and large dogs and lots of shaded seating areas for owners. Water and waste disposal stations were readily available. Also has a dog wash area in case the pets get dirty…Overall, a great spot for both dogs and their owners to enjoy some fresh air and exercise.
Apr 02, 2023 · Ashwin BakshiBest dog park in the area, maybe even the country. I go on a lot of road trips with my dogs and this is better than any I’ve been to. Well maintained, well behaved dogs (and people), water stations, lots of trees, plenty of benches. I go here twice a day.
Mar 21, 2025 · Colby MooreOur first time at this dog park and My puppy loved it! Plenty of room to run and play and throw toys /balls. They have water stations, plenty of shade, seating areas and a dog wash area. Secure gates for runners as well! We went early in the morning and the other dog owners are very friendly! All in all a very awesome dog park and we will go back! I only wish there was one like this closer to my house but the 20 minute drive is worth it!
