I love this place and so does my dog Chloe! We have both made some great new friends here and go every day if we can. The best part is that there are 3 separate sections for different size dogs to run and play, so if your pooch is a little guy or a big guy and not very social, chances are you can have a spot all to yourself. If you have a pack and need more space there's a place for that too with shade, trees and a place to sit while your four legged kiddos get some much needed playtime, and you get to relax and chat with other pet parents. There's poop bags, water fountains and bowls provided in case you forget yours and a place to hang your leash. There is also a staging kennel for safe on-boarding or in case your baby is a bit shy at first. Everyone here is friendly, helpful and considerate so if you're a first-time visitor or dog park pro you will feel right at home! You gotta go! See you soon!

The park's accessibility is a significant advantage, as it means less travel time for you and more playtime for your dog. The park's setting within Dacula means it's often a short drive from various neighborhoods, making it a go-to destination for daily exercise or weekend excursions. The surrounding area is generally easy to navigate, with clear road signs leading the way. Whether you're coming from nearby Snellville, Lawrenceville, or even further afield in the broader Atlanta metropolitan area, reaching Harbins Dog Park is a smooth journey, allowing you to maximize your time enjoying the park itself. The ease of access ensures that this fantastic resource is available to a wide range of dog owners throughout the Georgia region.
---Harbins Dog Park is more than just a fenced area; it offers a range of services and amenities designed to enhance the experience for both dogs and their owners. These thoughtful provisions ensure comfort, convenience, and safety for everyone.
-
Multiple Separate Play Sections: One of the most highly praised features of Harbins Dog Park is its intelligent layout, which includes three distinct, fenced-in sections. This crucial design element allows for segregation based on dog size or temperament. This means there are dedicated areas for small dogs, large dogs, and sometimes even a separate space for dogs that might be less social or need more personal room. This separation helps prevent potential conflicts and ensures that every dog, regardless of their size or play style, can enjoy themselves safely.
-
Water Fountains and Bowls: Hydration is key, especially during active play. The park provides convenient water fountains within each dog run, along with shared water bowls. This ensures that your dog can stay refreshed throughout their visit, even if you forget to bring your own water bottle.
-
Poop Bags Provided: Responsible pet ownership is a priority at Harbins Dog Park. To facilitate cleanliness and hygiene, dog waste bags are readily available throughout the park. This thoughtful provision makes it easy for owners to pick up after their pets, contributing to a clean and pleasant environment for everyone.
-
Leash Hanging Areas: Upon entering and exiting the runs, designated spots are available to hang leashes. This simple yet effective amenity helps keep the entryways clear and organized, making transitions smoother for both dogs and owners.
-
Staging Kennels: For dogs who might be a bit shy or need a gradual introduction to the park environment, staging kennels are provided. These secure, temporary holding areas allow dogs to acclimate to their surroundings before fully entering the main play areas, ensuring a less stressful and safer on-boarding process.
Beyond the essential services, Harbins Dog Park boasts several features that truly elevate it above many other dog parks. These highlights contribute to a superior experience for both canines and their human companions.
-
Spacious Enclosures for Large Breeds: Unlike some dog parks where "large dog areas" can feel cramped, Harbins Dog Park offers genuinely expansive fenced-in sections for bigger dogs. This ample space allows large breeds to truly stretch their legs, run at full speed, and get the rigorous exercise they need and deserve.
-
Abundant Shade and Trees: The presence of mature pine trees throughout the park provides much-needed natural shade. This is a significant benefit, especially during Georgia's warmer months, offering cool spots for dogs and owners to rest and escape the direct sun. The shade also enhances the overall aesthetic and comfort of the park.
-
Seating for Pet Parents: The park is equipped with picnic tables and other seating options, allowing pet parents to relax comfortably while their dogs play. This encourages longer stays and fosters a sense of community among visitors.
-
Agility Obstacles: Most of the dog runs at Harbins Dog Park include various agility obstacles. These fun additions provide mental and physical stimulation for dogs, allowing them to jump, weave, and explore, adding an extra layer of engagement to their playtime.
-
Friendly and Considerate Community: A consistent theme in reviews is the welcoming nature of other park visitors. The community at Harbins Dog Park is described as friendly, helpful, and considerate, making it a comfortable environment for new visitors and a pleasant one for regulars. This positive social dynamic among humans contributes significantly to the overall positive atmosphere of the park.
As a public facility, Harbins Dog Park typically does not offer specific promotions or special discounts in the way a private business might. Its primary "offer" is its consistent availability and commitment to providing a high-quality, free-to-use resource for the local community. The value it provides lies in its well-maintained facilities, comprehensive amenities, and the safe, enjoyable environment it offers to all dogs and their owners without an admission fee. This makes it an incredibly cost-effective and valuable option for regular dog exercise and socialization in the Dacula area. Any specific events or community gatherings at the park would typically be announced through local Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation channels or community bulletin boards.
---For general inquiries regarding Harbins Dog Park, visitors can typically refer to the Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation department, which manages the facility.

May 02, 2025 · Yvonne HuntAWESOME Dog Park. I take my boy Sir Buddy tona lot of dog parks and few come close to Harbins Dog Park. The fenced in area for large dogs is actually big enough for a large breed to really get good exercise. There's a nice swing a couple of picnic tables and plenty of shade under the pine trees. All but one of the dog runs have obstacles for the fur babies as well. Pretty cool. Think about a park for kiddos with no swings or monkey bars so it's really cool that they included extras here There's water fountains in each run and they have a spot to hang your leashes as you enter and exit. Overall just the best spot to spend some time with your dog/s
Apr 24, 2025 · angela davenportAs a dog trainer, I don't encourage dog parks due to owners being irresponsible. But I have had nothing but great experiences here! I will be working here with my dogs a lot more! Also if you need a dog trainer I'm your guy!
Mar 04, 2025 · BF TrainingThis is a beautiful park and my dog loves it however I’ve been twice and both times I’ve felt judged by the evening / late afternoon crowd.. I always come in and greet everyone and my dog is super friendly towards people and other pups. When I show up I get rude and judging stares like I shouldn’t be here. they sometimes whisper amongst themselves and scatter to their vehicles within minutes , or they go over to a different fenced in area. Not sure if this place just doesn’t accept people who don’t live in the direct area but I Definitely feel uncomfortable energy when I attend. Just because you are used to your normal posse does not mean you need to make others feel un-welcomed. Both times I came was for my dog’s birthday (ONCE A YEAR) and it’s sad to see this park is still this way. I will be going to another park from now on.
Apr 17, 2025 · MorganBeautiful and quiet. This park is so underrated. Which is great, because it's never packed! My favorite is the last dog area where there is a swing for the humans and tons of grass to zoomie on. My dogs get to blow off so much steam here, and I love the trees and nature, it's such a peaceful vibe.
