The Arlington dog park is great. Plenty of room for the dogs to run and play. Also, everyone I've met there is very cordial and friendly. It also has a nice walking path, about 1/2 mile that is nice for me and Bruno to get exercise after play time

While some visitors have occasionally encountered high grass or a lack of clear signage for parking, these minor issues often don't deter them from returning, underscoring the park's overall appeal. In addition to the off-leash areas, the benefit of having a "nice walking path, about 1/2 mile that is nice for me and Bruno to get exercise after play time" makes Arlington Dog Park a versatile destination for comprehensive pet and owner fitness.

Location and Accessibility

The Arlington Dog Park is located at 2650 Waldemere St, Sarasota, FL 34239, USA. It is an integral part of the expansive Arlington Park & Aquatic Complex, a well-known recreational facility in Sarasota. Its proximity, less than two miles from downtown Sarasota and near Sarasota Memorial Hospital, makes it easily accessible for a significant portion of the city's residents.

While GPS might sometimes lead to less convenient entry points, the optimal place to park is generally at the main community pool parking lot within the Arlington Park complex. From there, it's a short, convenient walk to the dog park gates. This arrangement ensures that "plenty of parking" is available for visitors, alleviating common concerns about finding a spot. The park itself is generally open from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM daily, offering a wide window for visits, from early morning jogs with your dog to evening play sessions. It’s always a good idea to confirm specific hours on the City of Sarasota Parks and Recreation website for any updates or seasonal adjustments. Dogs must be leashed outside of the fenced dog park area, including on the walking paths and other parts of Arlington Park.

Gps took us to the back of it, but the best place to park is at the community pool, and then it's a short walk. There is no parking at the dog park gates. So park at the pool, then walk to the dog park. It seemed not very well kept, such as high grass. We may have come at a bad time. All in all, I wouldn't be afraid to come back. Everyone seemed friendly. The reason for 3 stars is high grass and no clear signage for dog park.

Getting there was the biggest challenge and complaint. Whatever you do, DO NOT FOLLOW GOOGLE MAP DIRECTIONS TO "DOG PARK" ! Navigate to Arlington Park, it is a large facility. Upon parking, walk to the left, not to the right behind the pool, as someone else mentioned. Stay on path, pass a small brown building and take a left on the path, you will then see the entrance to the Dog Parks! It is a wonderful park. I would give it 5 stars if it weren't for the horrible directions down a dead end street with neighbors clearly sick of us all turning around in their driveways as they have construction cones blocking them now, and then having to make 2 left turns onto a busy street without a light. Hopefully Google reads this and gets it updated!?! My puppy had a blast playing with his new friend! And getting all dirty 4 days after he was groomed! .

Love Lakeview Paw Park. Unfortunately it is closed temporarily due to the recent hurricanes. Hopefully it hasn’t lost many trees which provide much needed shade in the summer and even in warm winter days. My only complaint is that the ground has large areas of very fine broken down mulch. Which provides a soft area for dogs to dig and romp but due to the powdery nature of the ground cover my dog needs a bath whenever he runs and rolls in it. I just look at it as the dirtier he is the more fun he has had. There is a convenient wash area to hose him off.
