Welcome to Dog Park
For dog owners across New York, the search for that ideal spot where their canine companions can freely roam, play, and socialize in a peaceful environment is a top priority. Look no further than the Dog Park on Campbell Avenue in Airmont, NY – a cherished local gem that consistently offers a relaxing and engaging experience for both pups and their human companions. This isn't just a fenced-in area; it's a thoughtfully designed community space that blends natural beauty with practical amenities, making it a beloved destination for pet lovers in the region.
The Airmont Dog Park stands out for its well-structured layout, which includes what appears to be three separate sections for dogs. This segregation is a significant advantage, allowing for a safer and more harmonious play environment. The presence of distinct areas for "smaller and no friendly breeds" (likely meaning dogs that prefer less intense play or are smaller in stature) ensures that all dogs, regardless of their size or temperament, can enjoy their time comfortably and securely. This level of consideration for canine social dynamics contributes significantly to the park's positive reputation, giving owners peace of mind while their pets interact.
One of the most appealing aspects, frequently highlighted by visitors, is the incredibly relaxing atmosphere the park offers to human companions. As one reviewer aptly puts it, "This piece for the dogs is so relaxing that I think I enjoy it more than my GR, I can seat there the whole day watching my GR run and play with other dogs." This speaks volumes about the park's ability to provide a tranquil escape, where owners can unwind while observing their happy dogs. The presence of benches or seating areas, allowing owners to "seat there the whole day," further enhances this comfortable experience.
Beyond the excellent dog facilities, the Airmont Dog Park offers "amazing" scenic views. With "green" landscapes and the promise of "beautiful landscape views" in the fall, the park provides a picturesque backdrop for outdoor activities. This aesthetic appeal elevates the dog park experience, making it a pleasant destination for both canine exercise and human enjoyment of nature. The thoughtful inclusion of a "good size playground for the kids" nearby means that this park can truly serve as a family destination, allowing parents to bring both their children and their dogs for a comprehensive outing.
The park prides itself on being a "friendly place and everyone is kind," which fosters a welcoming community among visitors. While there is a recognized concern regarding small dogs potentially escaping under the fences, indicating a need for potential barrier improvements, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive. Many visitors are regulars, coming "every other day," which is a testament to the park's consistent quality and desirability. This strong local patronage underscores the park's value as a vital recreational resource for Airmont and surrounding New York communities, providing an essential space for pet socialization and exercise.

Aug 13, 2019 · Oscar VelzSuch a friendly place and everyone is kind. Although my chihuahua escapes under the fences as they need to be lower. This is dangerous when there’s dogs in another pen they don’t play well with small so dogs. We come every other day and love this park, but would love it more if my dog would have no option to escape.
Sep 11, 2022 · Rebecca HusseyNice park with 3 pens ,But bring your own water. No bathroom available at this location. Its my dogs favorite place . For the most part well behaved dogs. Bathrooms are now open . During the summer only. The park is being closed in coming weeks by the town over noise complaints ,
Apr 28, 2021 · Mitchell DakinLots of room for dogs to run around with three separated areas for different personalities.
Aug 14, 2023 · Yosef HottBecause of two new neighbors the park closes at 6pm now??? The rest of the park is open later as is every other park and dog park. There are a lot of unhappy taxpayers that will probably take legal action.
