This place is great, WHEN ITS OPEN. It’s closed entirely too much. They are normally closed on Mondays, which I can Understand. But when me and my pup come here on a Wednesday or Friday or random Tuesday and they are closed with the locks on the gate it’s very frustrating. Today my poor little girl looked so sad when we got here and the locks were on the gates, yet again on a Wednesday with no rain or weather problems. What is going on? Very disappointing.

Services Offered

Barney Wood Bark Park provides a comprehensive range of services and amenities, meticulously designed to ensure a safe, clean, and highly enjoyable experience for both canine visitors and their human companions.

  • Separated Off-Leash Areas: The 1.44-acre park features "large and small dog area." The small dog area is specifically for dogs weighing less than 30 lbs, ensuring that smaller breeds can play safely without being overwhelmed. Owners of small dogs may choose to take their pets into the large dog area at their own risk.

  • Splash Pads: A fantastic amenity for the Texas heat, each section of the park (large and small dog areas) includes a "splash pad." These water features provide a fun way for dogs to cool off and play, typically operating daily during select times, weather permitting. (Note: Dog water fountains are shut down and winterized from November 15 through March 15).

  • Double-Gated Entry: For enhanced safety and to prevent accidental escapes, both the large and small dog sections have "doubled-gated entry" points, providing an extra layer of security.

  • Dog Waste Stations: Crucial for maintaining cleanliness, the park provides "plenty of dog bags to pick up poop" and disposal bins, encouraging responsible pet ownership and contributing to the park's "well maintained" reputation.

  • Water Fountains: In addition to the splash pads, the park is equipped with water fountains to ensure that dogs have access to fresh drinking water during their visit, outside of the winterized period.

  • Ample Seating and Lighting: For human comfort and convenience, each section of the park offers "ample seating" and "lighting," allowing for enjoyable visits during both day and evening hours.

I took my dog here and we had so much fun! It's really well maintained and lots of other dogs showed up. There was a little water feature for the dogs to play in and a separate park area for bigger dogs so I didn't have to worry about my little dog being overwhelmed or scared.

The park is clean!! And they had a free holiday event for the dogs! Made ornaments, pictures with the grinch, pup cups at every station, and a food truck for the humans!

My girl Disney begs to come to this park every day. She loves meeting her friends, big and small, here for a play date. Great splash pad area, lots of seating and shade for during those hot summer days. We’ve been coming to this park since it opened and it’s one of the nicest ones in the area.
