Excellent park with lots of shade. The dirt isn't the best when it rains and it seems there are a lot of small stones. Sensitive feet beware. Most folks here take care of their dogs and pick up after them. Those who don't pick up after their dogs are always talked badly about. Yes, we see you ignoring your dog and staring at your phone instead. Love your animal and play with them. Keep an eye on them as not picking up after your dog is what spreads to diseases.

Wagging Tail Dog Park provides a comprehensive array of services and amenities designed to create a comfortable, safe, and enjoyable experience for both canine visitors and their human companions.
-
Separate Off-Leash Areas: A key feature is the presence of "two separate park for small dog (under 30 lbs) and big dog (30lbs and above)." This thoughtful division ensures that dogs can play safely with peers of similar size and energy levels, reducing potential conflicts and providing peace of mind for owners.
-
Pet Waste Stations: Crucial for maintaining cleanliness, the park provides "pet waste stations" and "poop bag stations" throughout the grounds. This amenity encourages responsible pet ownership and contributes to the park's overall cleanliness, which is a point of pride for regular users.
-
Water Fountains: To keep pups (and their humans) hydrated, especially during the warm Texas weather, the park is equipped with "water fountains" for both dogs and people.
-
Seating for Owners: The park offers "tables, chairs for pet parents," as well as "benches" and "picnic tables," providing comfortable spots for owners to relax, socialize, and supervise their dogs.

Wagging Tail Dog Park stands out as a premier destination for dogs and their owners in North Dallas due to several impressive features and thoughtful design elements.
-
Abundant Shade: A significant highlight, especially crucial in Texas, is the "lots of shade" provided by numerous "trees." This offers vital relief from the sun, making visits comfortable even during warmer parts of the day and extending the park's usability.
-
Spacious 6.9-Acre Layout: The park's generous "6.9 acre" size provides "lots of space" for dogs to run, play, and expend energy. Even with "a lot of dog park regulars at most hours of the day," it offers ample room, ensuring it "doesn't even feel overly crowded" on busy evenings.
-
Scenic Observation Deck: A unique feature is the "flagstone observation deck" that rises "35 feet above White Rock Creek," offering "majestic views of a waterfall." This adds a picturesque element to the park, enhancing the experience for human visitors.

-
Accessibility to Nature: Beyond the fenced areas, the park's location offers proximity to natural elements like White Rock Creek, enhancing the overall outdoor experience.
As a public park operated by the Dallas Park and Recreation Department, Wagging Tail Dog Park does not typically offer commercial "promotions" or "special offers" in the retail sense. Its primary value to the community is its provision as a free, accessible, and high-quality public space for canine recreation.
However, the Dallas Park and Recreation Department frequently organizes various community-focused events throughout the city, some of which may be dog-friendly or related to pet well-being. While specific annual events directly at Wagging Tail Dog Park might not be widely promoted as "promotions," the city often hosts broader pet-related initiatives or dog park gatherings at its facilities. For instance, events like "Dallas Dog Bowl" or "Bark at the Park" (at sports venues) showcase the city's commitment to dog-friendly activities. Information on these types of special events is usually available through the Dallas Parks and Recreation official website, their "Dog Park Hotline / Rain Out Line" (214-614-6711), or through local pet-related social media groups and community calendars. The inherent "promotion" for Wagging Tail Dog Park lies in its consistent availability as a well-maintained, free amenity for Dallas's dog owners, offering immense value through its design, upkeep, and the vibrant community it fosters.
For direct inquiries regarding Wagging Tail Dog Park, including park rules, specific hours of operation, maintenance schedules, or to report any concerns, the best point of contact is the Dallas Parks and Recreation Department.

It is highly recommended that Texans planning a visit consult the official Dallas Parks and Recreation website or call their Dog Park Hotline for the most current information on park closures (e.g., due to rain or Monday maintenance), as these can occur without prior notice to preserve the park's condition.
For Texans living in Dallas, particularly in the northern parts of the city, Wagging Tail Dog Park is an exceptionally suitable and highly recommended destination for their canine companions. Its expansive "6.9 acre" size provides ample room for even the most energetic dogs to "run and play" freely, a critical feature for canine well-being in an urban environment. The thoughtful division into "two separate park for small dog (under 30 lbs) and big dog (30lbs and above)" is a significant advantage, ensuring safe and appropriate play interactions for all breeds and sizes, which is highly valued by responsible owners.
A major draw, especially given our Texas climate, is the "lots of shade" provided by abundant trees. This makes visits comfortable even during warmer parts of the day, allowing for extended playtime without overheating concerns. The presence of well-maintained "pet waste stations," "water fountains," and secure "gates and fences" further underscore the park's commitment to safety, cleanliness, and convenience. While some users note issues with muddy conditions after rain or the prevalence of "small stones," these are common challenges in natural-surface parks and are often outweighed by the overall benefits.
What truly sets Wagging Tail Dog Park apart is its vibrant community. The park is often bustling with "a lot of dog park regulars," creating numerous opportunities for canine socialization and for owners to connect. The clear expectation for owners to "pick up after them" fosters a respectful and tidy environment, despite occasional lapses. For any Texas dog owner seeking a spacious, well-equipped, safe, and community-oriented off-leash park experience in Dallas, Wagging Tail Dog Park offers a premier choice, promising countless happy moments for pups and their devoted human companions.

Apr 19, 2025 · Bleeding DesiresBeautiful place for your fur babies to hang out. Lots of trees and spacious area so your dog can run and play without the leash. The gates and fences are secured so we don't have to worry about them running outside. They have two separate park for small dog (under 30 lbs) and big dog (30lbs and above). There are pet waste stations, water fountains, and some tables, chairs for pet parents as well. The parking is free but not many spots through. Other than that, everything is great!
Apr 19, 2021 · Anh's JournalWe have been here twice with both of my dogs and we had a blast! Very spacious separate areas for smaller and larger dogs to play that also have water fountains for humans and furry friends. Small walking trails and an observation area that overlooks a damn/creek. Everyone we have met has been friendly and all dogs have been well behaved. Awesome spot! So happy this is so close by where we live.
Oct 23, 2016 · Megan WilliamsGood location for activities . Very nice outdoor pool next door. Walking track. Even a fine recreation building. All next to each other.
Jun 16, 2025 · Robi DGood place to take your dog to play with other dogs. The place was a bit muddy, but it had been a rainy day prior and a few in the morning. A small and large dog park area is available and parking seemed sufficient at the time.
