Wet Pets by Steve

I’ve purchased mystery snails, rabbit snails, and bettas from Wet Pets by Steve, and they’ve all been super healthy and in great condition. The store has a fantastic selection, and I love supporting smaller fish stores like this over chain stores. I’ve never had any issues with the fish or plants I’ve bought here—highly recommend!

Steve's is great. Super friendly knowledgeable and abundant staff. Plenty of stock, both fresh and salt water. They have a wide range of tanks, substrates, filters, lights, food, rocks, decor and more. Family owned business, so you know they put time and effort in. They really care about both the customers and the animals. (Pics are my own fish and shrimps 😁😋) Updated 2/2025 Still great! They've remodeled a little. Added and upgraded thier inventory and fish. Majority of the same staff is still there, they've got the experience!

They have the worst customer service skills when you point out their bait and switch tactics and confront them directly about it and ask them to honor the advertised online pricing. This place gives off the vibe that they don’t care about new customers because they are the only game in town and it shows. Then given the chance to fix it they agree but the other employee just kept telling me why I was wrong so I decided to leave and regress from the persistence of the over explainer. They were going to actually honor the price and I was good with that but this guy couldn’t stop. I called to speak with the owner immediately, who was so obviously upset her customer service skills were not present at all it’s sad. The store is dated but has a decent selection their pricing is competitive with online and local it was a good fit until this experience. I won’t be back the business doesn’t value us enough to tell this employees to stop and leave me alone. Yes I made the accusation that it’s bait and switch. They claim to have sold out of the lower price plant that day while receiving the high priced plants same day. I don’t believe the story. Why have the price online if your not going to honor it. In reply you did nothing to correct this your assistant manager did (good guy deserves a raise he was on point) but again your other employee kept on. The issue had been resolved. I waited outside your store while your employees explained the situation to you. You made no attempt to talk to me. I would have happily walked out with the substitute (I wanted 4) would have been back next week for several more. I intended to buy so much more in your quaint store. I understand I’m no big loss. I hope you have the day you deserve.

Amazing small business. My kids love stopping by this place and bought a fish from them, and over time we started accumulating fish because my kids get enamored with all they have to offer, so now I think we are officially fish people thanks to Steve’s. The staff is extremely knowledgeable about all the minutiae that goes into caring for fish that I never would have known, and each of the people who work there are extremely friendly and helpful. This is the quintessential small business that you just feel good about supporting in Norman.

All the staff are friendly and consistently checked in with me about what I needed. Very informative pricing and lovely layout. Surprisingly affordable, even for saltwater features and animals.
