I have been coming to this store since I was about 7 years old and im 23 now. One thing this store was different from local animal shops on was the care they took of their reptiles. Over the last year, this care they once provided has drastically changed for the worse. I never in my life have seen the animals here live in this condition before. I know that people that used to run the reptile department have left but that does not mean that just filling a position is good for the animals. It makes me sad to see how the standards have been lowered.

The Road Show Introduce

Welcome to The Road Show, a long-standing establishment located at 28500 Gratiot Ave, Roseville, MI 48066, USA, catering to the needs of local pet enthusiasts and those seeking unique lifestyle items. As a "Pet Store Near Me," The Road Show has served the community for many years, evolving its offerings to include not only a variety of animals and pet-related supplies but also a diverse selection of candles, incense, crystals, and body jewelry, creating a unique shopping experience.

Based on customer reviews, The Road Show has a history of being a notable local animal shop, particularly recognized for the care it once provided to its reptiles. One long-term customer, who has been visiting the store since childhood, highlighted this historical strength, noting that the store was once different from other local animal shops due to the dedicated care given to its reptile collection. This suggests that for a significant period, The Road Show was a go-to destination for reptile enthusiasts in the Roseville area, known for its knowledgeable staff and commitment to the well-being of these specialized pets.

However, the same long-term customer also expressed concerns about a recent decline in the standard of care for the reptiles, noting a "drastically changed for the worse" condition of the animals over the past year. This feedback indicates a potential shift in the store's focus or operational practices within its reptile department. While acknowledging the departure of previous staff responsible for reptile care, the customer emphasizes the importance of ensuring that replacements maintain a high level of care and expertise, suggesting that current standards may not be meeting the previous benchmark.

Despite these concerns regarding the reptile section, another customer review paints a broader picture of The Road Show as a "one stop shop." This customer highlights the store's diverse inventory, mentioning the availability of candles, incense, crystals, and body jewelry alongside their experience of acquiring a sulcata tortoise a few years ago. This indicates that The Road Show caters to a varied clientele with interests beyond traditional pet supplies, offering a unique blend of products.

The positive mention of the expanded space for the store's sulcata tortoises is a noteworthy point. This suggests that The Road Show has made efforts to improve the living conditions for at least some of the animals in their care, indicating a potential ongoing commitment to animal welfare in certain areas of the store. This expansion could be seen as a positive development for the specific animals involved and a sign that the store is responsive to the needs of its animal residents.

Given the information available, it's challenging to provide a comprehensive overview of the store's current environment across all its animal departments. The contrasting reviews suggest that while some areas, like the expanded tortoise enclosure, may reflect positive changes, other areas, specifically reptile care, may have experienced a decline in standards. For potential customers, it would be prudent to visit the store and personally assess the conditions and care provided to the specific type of pet they are interested in.

In terms of services, as a "Pet Store Near Me," The Road Show likely offers a range of products and services typically found in such establishments. These may include:

  • Sale of Live Animals: Based on the reviews, the store sells various animals, including reptiles (though the current quality of care is under question) and at least one tortoise species. It's possible they also offer other common pet types like fish, small mammals, or birds.
  • Pet Supplies: A pet store typically stocks a variety of supplies related to the animals they sell or that are commonly kept as pets. This would likely include food, housing (cages, tanks), bedding, toys, and accessories specific to different animal types.
  • Reptile Supplies: Given the historical emphasis on reptile care, The Road Show likely carries a range of specialized reptile supplies, such as terrariums, heating lamps, UVB lighting, substrates, and appropriate food items. The current availability and quality of these supplies would need to be verified.
  • Other Merchandise: The unique aspect of The Road Show is its inventory beyond traditional pet supplies, including candles, incense, crystals, and body jewelry. This diversification suggests an attempt to cater to a broader customer base and create a distinctive retail experience.
  • Expert Advice: Historically, the store may have been known for knowledgeable advice, particularly regarding reptile care. However, the recent review suggests a potential decline in this area due to staff changes. Customers seeking specific guidance on pet care should inquire about the expertise of the current staff.

The features of The Road Show are somewhat mixed based on the provided reviews. Historically, a key feature was its specialization and quality of care in reptiles. However, this appears to be a point of concern for at least one long-term customer. Currently, a unique feature is the combination of a pet store with a diverse selection of non-pet-related items like candles, incense, crystals, and body jewelry, making it a "one stop shop" for a broader range of needs and interests.

Promotional information is not explicitly mentioned in the reviews. As a local business, The Road Show may offer promotions or loyalty programs to attract and retain customers. Local residents interested in any potential promotions should inquire directly with the store.

In conclusion, The Road Show in Roseville, MI, presents a somewhat complex picture based on the available customer feedback. It has a history of providing specialized care for reptiles, which was once a significant strength. However, recent experiences suggest a potential decline in these standards. On the other hand, the store offers a unique blend of pet supplies and alternative lifestyle products, creating a diverse shopping experience. The expansion of the sulcata tortoise enclosure indicates some positive developments in animal welfare within the store. For local users considering The Road Show, particularly for reptile needs, a personal visit and careful assessment of the current conditions and staff expertise is recommended. For those interested in the broader range of products, the store offers a unique "one stop shop" experience. To learn more about their current offerings and any potential promotions, you can contact The Road Show at (586) 779-7623 or +1 586-779-7623 or visit their location at 28500 Gratiot Ave, Roseville, MI 48066, USA.

A one stop shop. I get many candles, incense, crystals and body jewelry here. We got a sulcata tortoise here a few years ago and I'm quite happy to see they have expanded the space for the store sulcatas recently!

I have been coming here for years( like literally when you were in the 12 mile plaza) and I totally understand the jewelry policy; but when you walk in, purchase a nose ring and walk directly back in to see if you could exchange for a smaller size, after realizing you purchased the wrong size that’s extremely frustrating. If this is a health code violation then no one should be touching your jewelry without gloves… because that’s a health code violation. 20 Percent off after spending 10 dollars on a nose ring doesn’t do it for me. I guess I won’t be back. Completely disappointed.

My favorite place to browse, always something new. The glass in the back is always good. Cute clothes, stickers and pins. Crystals and incense! It’s hard to leave here without spending at least $100.
