When we arrived in Florida for our winter stay, we needed to get our dog her second dog flu shot. She had received her first one right before we left home up north and needed a follow up shot according to the instructions given to us at the vet clinic at home. When we took her in to the NewDay clinic to get the follow up shot, we provided them with the vaccination records from our hometown vet. NewDay transferred the information into their system which understandably took a little while. Then one of the veterinarians came in and started doing a full exam on our dog. I told her we just needed the follow up flu shot and that was all for now. She told me she had to run a full exam on her since she was new to the clinic. So, as it turned out, we were billed an extra $66 on top of the vaccination cost which I felt was unnecessary since she was just seen by our vet at home two weeks before our visit to NewDay. Two weeks later, we left our dog at the Pet Paradise for 4 days, in which the NewDay Veterinary Care was located, while we went on a cruise. As soon as we got back and took our dog home, she began having diarrhea issues. From our experience, not uncommon when a dog is separated from their owners for a period of time. They get stressed, we understand that. But the dog was showing discomfort after a second day so we took her back to NewDay. After a short conversation, they began explaining to us the battery of tests that would be needed to diagnose the issue. Two of the tests were going to require lab work from outside resources and was told it would take a day or two to get those results. A quick test of our dogs anal glands showed that she needed to have them expressed. Our dog was very sensitive to the original observation so they suggested that she be put out for the procedure. When they told us the costs of all the tests and the glands expressed would be nearly $1000.00, we balked and asked about alternatives. We opted to have her slightly sedated and drop the tests from outside labs. It still ran over $500. With all this said, we really got the feeling that they were trying to get as much as they could from us being a chain owned clinic. They discussed getting on a monthly care plan though them even though we told them we were only here a couple more months. They also gave us medicine for a specified time frame, but sold us twice the amount of medicine that was needed. Having two bad experiences in the two visits we had with them, caused me to feel the need to write this long winded review. I hope others have better experiences.

Mar 03, 2024 · Brad SandyAvoid this place at all cost. I had a monthly care membership which I felt I no longer needed so requested that I return to regular vet services as needed. Today when my pets are due their annual vaccinations I find out they closed out my records completely and refuse to see my pets because I canceled their care plan. Just go somewhere else and avoid the headache.
Dec 12, 2022 · Gabriela AlvaradoI rarely leave my two dogs at a kennel, however I had to go to Virginia over New Years and needed somewhere for my dogs. After visiting Pet Paradise and meeting the staff I felt very comfortable taking my two doodles there. I was able to watch them on video and see that that were happy and well cared for. When I picked them up they were clean and ready to come home. I highly recommend and I will definitely use this kennel again should the need arrise!
