I truly wish I could leave less than one star. They do not deserve any support whatsoever. The animals are malnourished, the poor kangaroo is miserable. The reptiles have tail rot. The list goes on. It is essentially a puppy mill and all of the dogs are lethargic and are quite obviously beyond tired of being handled all day everyday. I am begging everyone, if you want a dog, please go to the animal shelters that are already overcrowded. Do not support this business if you have even a shred of a conscious. It needs to be shut down.

Welcome to The Puppy Patch
The Puppy Patch is located at 3131 N Main St in Anderson, South Carolina. While categorized as a "Pet Store Near Me," recent customer reviews raise significant concerns regarding the welfare and health of the animals housed there.
Multiple reviewers have described the environment and conditions at The Puppy Patch as severely inadequate. Allegations include animals being "malnourished," a kangaroo appearing "miserable" and "not healthy," and reptiles exhibiting "tail rot" due to improper care ("not have the proper husbandry"). These descriptions paint a picture of an environment where the basic needs of the animals may not be met.
The primary concern raised in the reviews does not pertain to typical pet store services but rather to the ethical treatment of the animals. One reviewer explicitly labeled the establishment as "essentially a puppy mill," suggesting that the dogs are kept in poor conditions, appearing "lethargic" and "beyond tired" from constant handling. The overall sentiment from the reviews strongly discourages supporting this business due to animal welfare issues.
Given the serious allegations of animal neglect and mistreatment, there are no positive features highlighted in the provided reviews. Instead, the overwhelming feedback urges potential customers to avoid The Puppy Patch and to consider adopting from local animal shelters, which are described as "already overcrowded."
There is no promotional information available, and in light of the critical reviews, it is advisable for local users concerned about animal welfare to consider the information shared by these customers. If you are looking to acquire a pet, the reviewers strongly recommend choosing adoption from local animal shelters over supporting The Puppy Patch. No contact information was provided in the given information.

Mar 30, 2025 · Taylor RobinsonA lot of the animals are in bad condition. Some of the reptiles do NOT have the proper husbandry and there are evident signs of tail rot. I really wish people would stop making money off the back of innocent animals. The little kangaroo definitely isn’t healthy and you can tell. Why is any of this allowed??
Mar 30, 2025 · Kali KayJust went in here, the bearded dragons look severely malnourished and underweight. One had crickets all over him (leaving crickets in the cage will result in them biting the bearded dragons and causing disease). The bearded dragons are also all kept in the same cage which is a huge no as they’ll fight and get stressed out. I’m not an expert with the other animals in this locations but the dogs seemed very overpriced.
Feb 23, 2025 · Zarah FowlerTHIS IS A PUPPY MILL!!! They use breeding dogs to produce pups that they sell to you for 3x the price! These dogs are living in deplorable conditions which is causing many of the animals who are getting adopted to get sick leaving you with hundreds of vet bills. Their last location in Easley, SC got shut down due to neglect and unsafe conditions for the animals. PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT THESE PEOPLE. There is so many dogs in shelters that need homes. There is always a chance that you will find the breed you want in a shelter or from someone who is rehoming. Places like this and the puppy place are only in it for the money. It’s disgusting.
Feb 23, 2025 · kylie bunkerCrook alert! My wife and I went to this location a few days ago, and started the process of purchasing a puppy. The first time we went in there the price of the puppy was 2000, and just a few days later we ask them in person how much the same puppy is and the price was increased to 2400. Their prices are made up on the fly im assuming by how popular they think a specific dog is. We have also been informed by people that know the owners personally that they purchase their puppy for a whole lot less then they buy them for, but when you ask them to work with you on the price you will be told, and I quote “aw man, I’m breaking even selling it at the price I have it.” From our inside sources we have found out that their puppies are not obtained ethically. I would not be surprised to find out they have no idea where or the conditions the puppies even come from in the first place. If you purchase from these people you will, in my opinion, be supporting the abuse and mistreatment of dogs, and you are getting 100% scammed. So, if you care about dogs at all please take your business to ethical breeders that charge the same price or less a lot of the times. Also in my opinion these people do not care about dogs. The only thing these people seem to care about how much money they can squeeze out of these poor babies.
