I have been coming here for years & actually bought my Quaker from here. I’m a tad disappointed as I brought them both in for a nail trim & was very adamant about my parakeet being a frantic bird & I was worried she’d get hurt during the process. I was assured she wouldn’t. As days passed we had to take her in to see Dr. Lindstrom due to the odd fixation of her feet & complete change of personality. He concluded that her nails were cut way too short to the blood line because her nails were fully black on the tips - and that she was in severe pain. We had to her get a pain relieving medication & with the total vet visit being $252.48. Very disappointing for me considering I was adamant about my worry with my parakeet and how anxious she is when getting any type of nail trim due to past experiences going wrong. I love the store but, sadly after this it will be awhile until we return.

The Bird Loft Introduce
For bird enthusiasts in Amherst, Ohio, and the surrounding areas, finding a specialized "Pet Store Near Me" that focuses on avian care and supplies can be a significant asset. The Bird Loft, located at 141 N Leavitt Rd, Amherst, OH 44001, USA, positions itself as such a store. Customer reviews provide some insight into the environment, services, and features offered, although experiences appear to vary.
One long-term customer, who even purchased their Quaker parrot from The Bird Loft, suggests a potentially positive environment initially, having frequented the store for years. This implies a level of trust and satisfaction built over time. Another reviewer describes the staff as "knowledgeable" and "kind," further contributing to the perception of a helpful and supportive atmosphere for bird owners. The mention of "fair prices" is also a positive aspect of the store's environment from a customer's perspective.
However, a more recent review details a disappointing experience with the store's grooming services, specifically a nail trim for a parakeet. The customer explicitly communicated their concern about the bird's anxious nature and past negative experiences with nail trims. Despite assurances, the parakeet reportedly suffered from excessively short nail trimming, leading to severe pain that required a veterinary visit with Dr. Lindstrom and a cost of $252.48. This incident raises concerns about the expertise and care taken during grooming procedures, particularly with delicate or anxious birds. While this seems to be an isolated incident highlighted in the provided reviews, it underscores the importance of careful and experienced handling during any pet grooming service.
The primary feature of The Bird Loft, as its name suggests, is its specialization in birds. The fact that a customer purchased a Quaker parrot and another a "happy and healthy cockatiel" from the store indicates that they offer a variety of bird species for sale. The positive mention of knowledgeable staff suggests that they can provide guidance and information on bird care, which is crucial for both new and experienced bird owners. The availability of nail trimming services is another feature, though the negative experience highlights the need for consistent quality and expertise in this area. The store likely also offers a range of bird-related supplies, such as cages, food, toys, and accessories, although this is not explicitly detailed in the provided reviews.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information available for The Bird Loft based on the provided customer reviews. The reviews focus on service experiences and general impressions rather than specific sales or discounts. It is common for pet stores, especially specialty stores, to have varying promotions depending on the season, stock levels, or specific events. To inquire about any current promotions, the best course of action would be to contact The Bird Loft directly at (440) 988-2473 or +1 440-988-2473. You may also be able to inquire about their policies regarding grooming services and the qualifications of their staff.
In conclusion, The Bird Loft in Amherst, OH, appears to be a pet store specializing in birds, with some customers reporting positive experiences regarding knowledgeable staff, fair prices, and healthy birds purchased. However, a recent negative experience with their nail trimming service raises concerns about the consistency and expertise in all service areas. For bird owners in the Amherst area looking for a specialty store, The Bird Loft at 141 N Leavitt Rd may offer a selection of birds and supplies. However, it is advisable to inquire specifically about the qualifications and experience of staff providing services like grooming and to communicate any concerns regarding your pet's specific needs. Direct contact with the store is recommended to gather the most up-to-date information on available birds, supplies, services, and any current promotions.

Dec 10, 2024 · Heather StevensWonderful shop and VERY helpful staff. I just purchased my first bird, a Quaker parrot. The staff took the time to educate me and answer all my questions. They have an extensive selection of birds, toys and foods. It was well worth the almost hour-long drive to purchase my sweet bird. Thank you to everyone!!
