Rusty's Reefs

Rusty, his wife and their crew are amazing! They are so knowledgeable and are always willing to help you, no matter the question and no matter the need! They have a great variety of freshwater and salt water creamers and plants. My kids love to go into the store and look at all the cool tanks, especially the huge selections of corals. I highly recommend anyone in the hobby come check them out. I have gone to every aquarium store along the Wasatch front and Rusty’s is by far the best!!

I’ve kept freshwater fish for over 40 years. Have a basement fish room with 26 tanks. Rusty and his wife have always been extremely helpful and have acquired fish for me as I have looked for different varieties. A couple of years ago I decided to start raising freshwater shrimp, with Rusty’s advise and guidance, I have several tanks with hundreds of shrimp that are flourishing. For about the last couple of years as I have gone into his store for purchases and to bring excess fish that bred in my tanks . I kept asking Rusty’s advise on starting into the saltwater hobby. Well a couple of months ago found the guts to start my first tank a 29 gallon Fowler (fish only and live rock) two months later I have a reef tank , Rusty’s warned me saltwater is addictive . With Rusty’s help and advise I stocked my tank scaped with rock and added corals. He and his wife as well as his staff have been fantastic in providing guidance in what to put in my tanks. They have not failed me yet. I have called them numerous times and visited their store sometimes twice in one week to get advise and guidance. They have always been super helpful !

My review is mixed. The store is nice and the staff very friendly. I'm lowering my review as between my friend and I who purchased 8 fish combined, now currently only have 3 just 2 weeks later. These were the first fish added to my system and they brought velvet with them. Part my fault for not qt'ing, but I expect, to a certain degree, shops like this should also be quarantining their arrivals to mitigate loss.

I love this place. It’s our first go to for both fresh and salt water needs. There is always a variety and new fish or coral to see or buy. plus it’s fun to watch how Rusty keeps an eye on his wife and she only has to give him a look and he’s right there assisting her with whatever she needs. It shows they are good genuine people. Payton is also always friendly and willing to help even when I want specific fish out of a tank with several in it.

After we went there the very first time, we figured out they are the best ones to go... The owner is almost all the time there, and he has helped us a lot, very honest... Every time we ask them something, our issues are solved... I had recommended this place, and I will keep recommending it...
