My son really wanted to go to the aquarium, but it was completely booked up all weekend so we ended up at Reed Keepers Aquarium shop instead and my son was so happy to see all the fish! They have some really beautiful selections and some of the largest fish we've seen at any shop before! Most shops only sell baby fish, but not here!

Went in with my daughter as we are considering getting her a fish tank and I know nothing about fish. These guys are very knowledgeable and helpful. Talked with them for about 20-30 mins and they answered everything I thought to ask them and also suggested some other helpful resources for us to look into for us to learn more on our own time. Would highly recommend going to check them out!

Top tier guys at this store. The young man who was there was exceptionally knowledgable and, upon my first visit, was responsive when I asked "got anything cool to know about?" The owner showed up while I was checking things out and addressed the price of some really nice corals that he priced really competitively and I think I have found my new regular coral spot. I live in Durham, NC so I will drive past two LFS to come here due to the service and quality. Top notch experience guys.

If I could give this place ZERO stars I absolutely would. The older guy who I assume is the owner is beyond rude....just an unfriendly person. My boyfriend and I have been doing all 3 of our tanks using their business for supplies, fish, and plants. We've had overpriced equipment break, aquatic life sick. I went one day when the card reader was down and the old man there acted so annoyed that I was standing there waiting so I just left. The cherry on top, and the reason they will no longer receive a dime from us is when we purchased a Ramshorn snail about 5 days ago. We could immediately tell that it was dead. The front of the shell was almost transparent, meaning he had been dead a while. Should have been VERY obvious when the man scooped it out of the tank to sell it. But whatever. Put the snail in the tank, and there is sat, dead for a couple of days. When my boyfriend called to ask them what he should do with the dead thing, he was blamed and told he just didn't know what he was talking about and that the snail was alive. I have been a snail enthusiast for years and know what a dead snail looks like. Every day for 5 days I said "this snail is dead". Finally, my bf took the snail back only to be greeted by a younger employee. He again basically called my boyfriend an idiot and said that the snail was alive when we got it (again, there wasn't much a snail left in there. I'm sure it was eaten by another snail in the store's tank). All that being said, they need to care more about their freshwater life and most of all, work on their customer service. Not everyone going in there is a novice and the owners/employees don't know as much as they think they do. You're better off buying from Petsmart and Petco. Avoid this place at all costs.

I have been in reef store from Raleigh and Durham, how this store is different than other commercial store Owner Bill is very knowledgeable and also give you opportunity to shop and ask question as you directly speaking with the owner So about the difference, this store doesn’t carry lots of small frag, instead it has lots of colonies, however the priced of the colonies are very competitive to any other frag, so basically with little higher price you are getting the entire colony. The colonies of corals are amazing and very healthy , usually you can see 5 to 10 such colonies in one single store but Reef Keepers Aquarium has 50+ at a time I visited, may be more The store display tanks are jam packed with coral and look like coral forest and not some fancy frag show, it’s treat just to visit the store and watch the dense coral tank , feels like real underwater The store has many rare corals/fish/ invertebrates, everything may not be visible , you just need to ask the owner It has nice fish collection also , for first time I see Gem Tang in store display to sell, some other rare fish like Majestic angle, dogface etc, I didn’t focus much on the fish tanks but its also fully stocked
