I honestly almost never write reviews but I didn’t know what else I could do. I went into this petco just to get some new stuff for my tank and the first thing I saw was a tank with multiple dead fish. I figured it was a fluke and kept walking. When I went over to the bettas I realized how terribly they take care of their fish. I know it can feel dramatic to be that concerned about fish but I have never seen bettas this devoid of color and energy. Almost every single one was barely hanging onto life and not even swimming. I was at a different petco and their bettas were fine so I don’t know what this one is doing so wrong. I put my items back and walked out. I genuinely could not stomach supporting a store thats clearly neglectful to their animals.

Nov 23, 2024 · Julie DoriaWaited over 30 minutes to be helped in aquatic. I had asked for help 3 times. They had a sale for buy 3 get one free, I was charged for each fish. I purchased aquarium decor items and they rang up incorrectly. When I mentioned it to the cashier she said I had to tell her before she checked me out. I didn't see it on the pin pad and I noticed it on my receipt before even leaving the store. She told me she couldn't fix anything anymore. She said she was a manager but she didn't have any identification of even working at the store. I was charged extra for sale items and when I showed her she didn't care. She said I can't be refunded either. The Clinton or Riverdale stores are so much better and the employees are more polite, with or without issues with stock, help, and checkout.
Feb 16, 2025 · LOrdered a turtle tank online for my kids birthday, said it was in stock, I get there and am told they don’t have it, associate then tries to sell me less then half of what the kit came with between multiple different items that would amount to 1/4 of what came with the bundle for more then I had payed. All I got was a “sorry looks like a count was off” No empathy for ruining a 7year olds birthday present because they didn’t update the inventory correctly. Today 3/10/25 11:35 who ever those employees are, in top of that, they hadn’t even checked the order until after I arrived over an hour after placing the orders horrible place
Mar 10, 2025 · Harley ZimmerI don’t understand why the service has gone down. Nobody welcomes or anything. Chasers talk and visit. Take 30+ minutes to get help. Helping others but not everyone. Getting what feels like being ignored. The lady tonight was helpful eventually but was visiting with a friend nobody even came to check on us if it wasn’t for the customer who came in after us we probably wouldn’t gotten help . All I needed was a mouse , crickets and mealworms. That’s not a 30. + minute task. I’ve been disappointed and frustrated with the drive lately. Please do better and hire more people. While I understand you’re understaffed this is beyond a joke. I don’t even feel valued.
