I usually love this Petco, I got my angelfish from here and they’re thriving. Unfortunately, I just went and i was so sad by the fish care and maintenance currently going on. There was dead, rotten fish in every freshwater tank. A lot of them have been eaten to pieces…. so many dead fish stuck in filters. Soooo many sick fish :/ I wish I could take pictures of everything but they were closing. It was upsetting, whoever is on schedule for maintenance is doing a terrible job. I really wanted to get some new fish but I cannot add these into my tank knowing they’ve been exposed to diseases.

I needed to come back to update my review. I came in again last week, upgrading my son's fishtank from 8gal to 30gal, but set myself a budget. When the cashier rang me up (so sorry I didn't get her name) she suggested signing up for a membership, explained it would save me nearly $30 PLUS she advised me to go into the app and see if I could price match some stuff to take my price down. I went from over budget by $8 to saving nearly $45. THIS right here, is why I went from typical 4 stars to 5. She really went above and beyond, was super patient and kind. If I can find her name I'll be adding it because she deserves the recognition.

A fish purchased here had ich & wiped out my tank of fish. They offered to only replace the fish that caused it. My son lives in Denver and had the same problem last year, however, they had no issues replacing &/or giving him a credit for all the fish he lost.

On 03/05/2025 I went to Petco in Middletown, New York. A sales associate named Amyah was very kind and professional. She helped me to quickly locate all of the products that I needed. Amyah is very knowledgeable about the stores inventory.
