Great staff have you find what you are looking for, they have such a fun selection of animals on site. Great pet grooming. Lots of fish to select from and some cute turtles when I was walking through I couldn’t help but smile the entire time.

Petco Introduce

As a well-known "Pet Store Near Me," the Petco located at 195 E 12300 S, Draper, UT 84020, USA, offers a variety of pet-related goods and services. You can contact this location at (801) 495-4201 or their mobile number +1 801-495-4201.

According to one customer review, the Draper Petco has a great staff that is helpful in finding products. They also have a fun selection of animals on-site, including a variety of fish and even some turtles that brought joy to the customer. Additionally, pet grooming services are mentioned as a positive aspect of this store.

However, another customer reported a significantly negative experience specifically concerning the purchase of fish. This review detailed instances of mishandling fish by staff during the catching process, allegedly leading to the death of the purchased fish shortly after. The customer expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of guarantee on saltwater fish and the handling of the situation by the staff and management, advising other potential customers to be cautious when purchasing fish from this location.

Based on these reviews, the Draper Petco generally offers a wide selection of pet supplies and animals, including grooming services. However, there seems to be a potential issue with the training and handling procedures of the staff, particularly concerning fish. Customers considering purchasing fish from this location may want to exercise caution and observe the handling process closely. For information on specific services, animal availability, and any current promotions, it is recommended to contact the store directly or visit their location.

If there’s an option for zero star, we’d give them zero star. We came in to buy a few fish from this location and we’d bought some before. They seriously need to train their staffs on how to take the fish out. First purchase, a couple of the green chromis died due to getting hit by the rocks. We were like okie maybe just bad luck. Second purchase, our flame angelfish didn’t even make it to our house (attached picture) and we live like 10 mins away from the store. While trying to catch our flame angelfish, they just used a net to push the rocks around and smashed and killed a couple fish and an anemone (attached picture). We came back on the next day since it was their closing time when we got the fish and talked to them; and all they said was there’s no guarantee on the salt water fish. The funny thing was the person, who did a bad job catching the fish, was standing right there and said nothing. We wouldn’t necessarily need a refund for the dead fish but we’d definitely like to get store credits since we felt like it wasn’t our fault. FYI, I wouldn’t recommend getting fish from this store since most of their staffs are not trained on catching the fish. If you really like the fish and see them doing that, just say sorry we’re no longer interested in it and walk away. Otherwise, you’d end up with a dead fish or more. We’d definitely not buying any fish from them anymore and tell our friends and family to do the same thing.

Overall, this is a great pet store. A few months ago, I got two pet hamsters, and my sister got one. When we went to get my hamsters at petco, the two I got were in the same cage together. It was labeled male, and Male had been there for a bit. (We saw them there a week earlier) About 2 weeks after we got them, I noticed one of them started getting fat. So I fed him less for a while, but around 2 weeks later, I was informed with the news that it had just given birth to 9 baby hamsters and was a girl. After the next 2 or 3 months, 6 of them died. 5 from wet tail (a small pet or rodent disease that can not be spread to humans) 1 from culling (where the mother kills it if ot is suffering) Each death has made me sad and all because some worker didn't check to see what gender a hamster was. But if you can't tell the difference between a male and a female hamster... UPDATE: One of the baby hamsters became pregnant - AGAIN!!!!! I had to give her to petco because my parents won't let me own more baby hamsters. Two baby hamsters left. (Imagine being 9 weeks old and being pregnant... just think about it...) UPDATE: Cake died of cancer and I heard that the workers breed them together even if they are related so... get your hamsters elsewhere. (Unless you want a hamster with an extremely short life)

Shelley was very knowledgeable and super engaging. She knew everything about all the fishes. She gave us specific details of how to care for the fish that we purchased. Super kind and happy. I would recommend everybody to go see her at Petco Draper.

Genuinely depressing seeing the condition of the fish in their tanks. Came in a few days ago to see some shrimp options and saw tons of deceased fish and shrimp. Came back yesterday to purchase and all of the deceased fish were still there in addition to a bunch of more dead fishies. I asked for help getting the shrimp and the employees couldn’t determine if they even had shrimp (that I had seen there for at least a few days) before coming to help me. The employee grabbing the shrimp was not confident in their skills and ended up letting shrimp fall onto the floor. The bag they gave me with the remaining shrimp didn’t have enough air or water in it. The only reason I came to Petco was because their shrimp were 50% off until the end of the month. At the register the discount wasn’t applied so they needed a manager to verify the discount I was showing them from their own email. After applying the discount for me, the manager said they wouldn’t do it again, despite the website saying that shrimp are half off right now. The next morning, having properly introduced my shrimp to the tank, most were dead. Not long after, the rest died too. Overall, incredibly dissatisfied with Petco and will make it a point to never purchase any live animal from the company again.
