Petco

My dog was burned while grooming, which then turned into a pretty bad infection. The vet had to cut a large chunk of the skin off. I wish they would have told me what they did so I could have been more proactive. I called and left a message with a manager. They told me I’d be getting a call back. Still haven’t. Disappointed in the lack of communication, makes it seem like they don’t really care they hurt my dog. Would not recommend getting your dog groomed there.

The doctor was awesome. She was still willing to see my lil guy even though we were very late for our appt time. It was our 1st visit at this location. The doctor seemed very sincere about caring for my lil guy and really took the time to look him over to get acquainted with him, his medical history and current needs. She also gave my other 2 lil pups attention and treats even though we weren’t there for them (they were his emotional support team because he has high vet anxiety). Her assistant was also amazing and pet loving. They make a great team. The front desk clerk was also great. She was very understanding of why we were late and instead of making me feel bad about it and have me to reschedule (as most vet offices do nowadays) she told me she’ll let the staff know we’re here to see if they are able to see us. I just spent well over $1100 at the other big chain pet hospital that is located inside the other big chain pet store and even though they did a really good job on my fur baby the service was horrible there. Not once did they take us in an office to speak, instead they conducted there business with me right in the lobby even while other customers were there. Also, they’re doctor never came out to introduce herself to me or speak to me in person. ***VetCo’s*** customer service is a thousand times better, and to me that means everything! VetCo made me feel like my pets matter to them not just my payments. 💕🥰💕 I had already planned not to continue on with my membership once this yr ends because of the lack of availability of appointments. But after this visit, I decided as long as I’m able to schedule here with this doctor, I will renew my membership again. I highly recommend them!

I was very happy when I first entered the store, the store seemed to be very well kept and put together. But the employees there seemed to be very unhappy, the energy there wasn't happy. I heard them reference a name but I wasn't too sure what the name was.

I have been a faithful petco customer for a long time, I bring my dogs to the vetco, I buy fish and supply's from petco as well. Recently I purchased multiple fish from the Center street location in Salem, Oregon the fish kept dying in my well established tank. The fish in question were pictus catfish, fancy guppies and plecos. They all died I purchased multiple of each, if you know fish you know plecos are almost indestructible. So it was strange that 4 of them died within a week. Upon returning to the petco I asked a sales associate if they were having issues with sick fish. She said yes which led to more question as to why this location was willingly selling sick fish. This sick fish to what I came to the conclusion of had "ich" which is a parasitic infection in fish. These fish died in my well established tank and it decimated my tank over the span of 48 hours. Every single fish died. And my established tank declined rapidly. I lost over 600 worth of fish and plants. This is unacceptable. I talked to another petco and they brought this issue up and now this location is being investigated. I want this wrong made right. I have to start over and that is wrong on so many levels. I've been told this location has been having many issues, so much so that others kinds of animals have went to other locations so they can be kept alive. I hope petco can do something about this.
