Midway Feed

Easily the worst pet shop I have ever been to and the care of the animals left me with an uncomfortable feeling of overwhelming sadness. I have owned birds my entire life and the condition these birds were in were UNREAL. Macaw and Cockatoo kept in the same small enclosure and PLUCKING. Nails were beyond overgrown and there’s many displayed symptoms of sickness with these animals. Cockatiels were even plucked and the bars were chipped from the birds, which we can now see possible issues from digesting toxins. PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT THIS STORE AND THE ABUSE THESE ANIMALS ENDURE UNDER THIS CARE. This place needs to be closed down ASAP!

I had to come back to update my review from a 5 to a 1. While the selection has stayed consistent in this store, It is because of doubling prices and birds that may be ill. This is the most expensive bird store in the AV, and the dirtiest. Exotic breeds are kept in cages drastically tiny for their breeds and fed a poor diet. Species that should not be kept together in close quarters are plucking and crowded. They can't seem to keep any fish alive aside from goldfish and the back room smells like poop. This is the store we call "The Sad Petstore". I won't be going back or recommending it anymore because it is depressing and sad. I love this pet store! Their bird selection is fantastic! Parakeets, quails, parrots, toucans, finches. They also have fish, fish tanks, cages, food. Fantastic selection, good prices.

The store is not clean. The animals were out of food. Poor birds were reaching for food through the bottom of the cage which was mostly sunflower seeds which is horrible for them. The perches were covered in poop! The ball python looked extremely sick, almost dead. The leopard geckos were overcrowded with missing toes and extremely swollen feet. They should NOT have animals in this store!

It’s was an interesting experience. no one was necessarily rude or non welcoming I would just say The state that the animals were in just put me in a discomfort state. Birds with extremely small enclosures and compressed together, pinky rodents that were no longer alive in the same tank as other adults and just exotic birds that should not be kept at pets. The cashier was nice but when I asked where they get there animals from they had said “close to the border” and made it seem like these are not captive bred animals.

Someone go in there an buy the big white cockatoo . She's super sweet and smart . She tried getting me to open the cage and even showed me how I'd do it and I couldn't let her out of course and she was soooo upset screaming. So sad . She needs a home..
