Magnolia Bird Farm

I took my mom there she is a big fan of birds, the staff was very friendly and helpful, easy in and out, very beautiful birds, with fair prices. If you are looking for a bird, it's a good place too find what you are looking for.

I surrendered my sun conure Pascale to Magnolia Bird Farm in Riverside in October 2023 due to my own medical reasons which have been overcome and done. I understand I completely surrenedered the bird that day but called today to see if by any chance someone has returned him so that I can reunite. I've had him for 10 years, originally my daughter's bird. I don't believe in birds in captivity...yet here I am. Anyway, I totally get that it's a slim chance but maybe there's a tiny miracle. Of course I didn't get into this much detail with the associate over the phone. Well, this place really seemed great when I came the first time, but upon talking to the female store associates, their lack of empathy and patience was upsetting to me. I understand there's little hope but when I mentioned I'll check in every so often to see if there's a sun conure there, the girl seemed annoyed. I called a second time to see if the foot bands are taken off the birds after surrendering and I kinda got lectured about how foot bands are bad. Yeah I get it...they're bad but she totally missed the point. It was a frustrating call. I'll continue to call though and we'll just have to get over each other lol for the small chance I might adopt Pascale back.

Frank is so knowledgeable about all birds, particularly my cockatiels. My female, Toby got eggbound twice, and almost died. The vet imploded the egg both times to save her. Frank said she needed liquid calcium in her water, direct sunlight, not through a window, has to be through a screen in order to get Vitamin D3 to absorb the calcium. He also said I needed to give her more nourishing seed mix, which is why I bought their mix. She eats lots of fruits and veggies, and 4/1/25 marks one year since her last eggbound episode!

We got our first bird here a zebra finch and it was a great experience for my kids. The staff and owner here are so nice and they have so many types of birds and bird supplies of all kinds. I love that they offer used cages as well at cheaper prices and we came back to get a second zebra finch.

I called around 9 am on a Saturday asking for African Grey Parrots. A lady answered telling me they didn’t have any. When I asked if they regularly sell them and if there was any chance they’d have some In the future, she proceeded to yell at me saying “I already told you we don’t have any”. I’m glad I called before coming in this shop because now they will never have my business. If they have this little patience with humans I can’t imagine how they treat those poor animals.
