By far as of right now one of the best fish stores I have ever been to and the best part is it’s a ma and pa kinda store where you as a customer are important and believe me when I tell you this they make you feel that way. I was lucky enough to meet Alexus. She helped me and I felt more like a family member then I felt like I was shopping. And the knowledge she has about the fish I was interested in blew me away. And the way she felt about the fish made me even more confident and comfortable shopping there that there was a genuine care that the fish are going to a good home. I will absolutely be using this store as my main go to in my fish and fish supply’s

Last Place On Earth Petshop distinguishes itself through several key features and highlights that enhance the customer experience, particularly for its niche markets.

- Commitment to Supporting Local: For those in North Carolina who prefer to support independent businesses, this pet shop offers a dedicated local option.
As an independent, "ma and pa" style pet shop, Last Place On Earth Petshop may not offer the same type of frequent, broad, or heavily advertised promotions as large national chains. Their "promotions" often come in the form of excellent value, personalized service, and a unique inventory that sets them apart. However, potential special offers or benefits for North Carolina locals might include:
- Competitive Pricing on Live Animals: As seen with the rats ($5-$8 each), their pricing for small animals is notably competitive, offering an affordable option for pet adoption.
- Value in Expert Advice: The extensive knowledge and personalized consultation provided by staff like Alexus can be considered a significant "added value" or "promotion," as it helps customers make informed decisions and avoids costly mistakes in pet care. This expert guidance is often more detailed than what's available in larger stores.
- Loyalty Recognition: While not explicitly stated, independent stores often recognize and reward long-term, loyal customers through informal means, such as special attention, early access to new arrivals, or occasional small considerations.
- New Arrival Announcements: They might announce new or rare fish arrivals via in-store signage or potentially on social media, attracting enthusiasts looking for specific species.
- Occasional In-Store Specials: Like many independent retailers, they may have periodic, unadvertised in-store specials on certain supplies or particular fish species to clear inventory or celebrate an event.
For the most accurate and up-to-date information on any current special offers or unique arrivals, North Carolina locals are encouraged to visit Last Place On Earth Petshop directly or contact them via phone. The true value here often lies beyond traditional discounts, focusing instead on quality, expertise, and personalized care.

May 18, 2025 · Dr GreenthumbI came here yesterday to adopt 3 baby female rats. The prices per rat were great, about $5 each per small rat and I think around $8 for large rats. However like every other pet store they were kept in glass tanks with woodchip bedding which both aren’t good for rodents respiratory health. Be sure to use a dust free paper bedding for your rodents. But all the rats seemed healthy, my girls have clear eyes, ears, and shiny coats. The prices for supplies are a little high, which I did not mind paying extra since it is an independent pet store and I like to support local businesses. They carry a lot of outdated toys like colored woods and rodent cages that are way too small even for a hamster. Which again isn’t unusual for pet stores. While the employees were super sweet and provided great customer service definitely do your own research on your pets care before coming to purchase your pet and supplies. The employee insisted on selling me a mixed seed food for my rats which is a big no no for rat health, they will only pick out the things they like such as higher calorie seeds and miss out on all their important nutrients. Rat pellets should make up most of your rats diet with fruits, vegetables, and seeds given in small portions. She had also recommended a wire wheel, which should not even be on their shelves as they are very outdated and known to cause major foot injuries and spine problems with rodents. Stick to plastic wheels. Overall I will definitely be back to purchase other rats in the future and to buy toys and treats.
May 18, 2025 · Owen PerezThe staff here are super friendly. I stopped by today to get two budgies after taking a long break from having birds, so I was a bit rusty, but they were really helpful and kind. I didn't catch their names, but I highly recommend this place. All the animals are well cared for, and the prices are pretty reasonable and they were willing to work with my budget. I will most definitely be back for accessories and supplies!
May 08, 2025 · Brian AI’ve been going here for months now quite often and have always had the best experience! Brett and the team are always very helpful and friendly with their services 👍🏼 I love my puffers and blue ram they have a beautiful selection!
Apr 26, 2025 · Ashley SuskoThey have great attitudes and are always friendly and helpful and never a rude word, nor do they treat me less than! We come here for our feeder mice for our snakes (they are high quality) and they have been the most helpful when it came to anything to do with our snakes, whether it be feeding, bedding questions, or just general questions. They have the knowledge, as we were completely new to snakes and we got two straight out the gate! We love the employees here, they actually care and aren’t just after your money and they keep a clean store and take great care of their animals! I highly recommend them! They are even open on Easter for some hours I just saw on the door! That impressed me! Side note: they have some very impressive fish! My daughters love coming here for the experience!
