1 Star the tanks are Absolutely disgusting the owner obviously doesn't take pride in the store.. I feel bad for the fish and especially for the Retiles the owner doesn't know anything about proper care for the fish or the reptiles. Will not be doing any business. To the owner you should be ashamed of yourself that's just pure neglect and disregard of proper care... I hope you do proper research on reptiles to provide proper care. And please clean your store it's disgusting. I recommend you hire someone that cares about the fish and reptiles that's knowledgeable. I'll check back in the store to see if you decide to take better care of the store. Hopefully the next time your store is cleaned, and fish and reptiles are get proper care.

Fish-A-Rama Introduce

Welcome to Fish-A-Rama, located at 3804 E Gulf to Lake Hwy, Inverness, FL 34453, USA. As a local pet store, categorized under "Pet Store Near Me," Fish-A-Rama's name suggests a specialization in aquatic life, potentially offering a variety of fish, aquarium supplies, and related products. However, recent customer reviews provide a critical perspective on the store's current environment, the health and quality of its livestock, and the knowledge of its staff. This introduction aims to present an objective overview of Fish-A-Rama based solely on the information available in these reviews, without omitting any of the concerns raised.

The environment of Fish-A-Rama, according to customer feedback, appears to be a significant area of concern. Multiple reviewers describe the store as "disgusting" and "yucky," indicating a lack of cleanliness and maintenance. Specifically, the tanks housing fish and reptiles are mentioned as being "Absolutely disgusting," with one reviewer stating that the owner "obviously doesn't take pride in the store." Another customer noted that the tanks were "very poor quality," "Dirty," and "filled with algae." These descriptions paint a picture of a store environment that may not prioritize the cleanliness and well-being of the animals it houses.

The quality and care of the livestock at Fish-A-Rama are also heavily criticized in the provided reviews. One customer reported seeing "sooo many DEAD shrimp" in a tank, describing it as "disgusting." This observation of deceased animals within the tanks was not isolated, as the same reviewer noted that "each tank had several things dead in them." This raises serious concerns about the health of the aquatic life offered for sale and suggests potential issues with the water quality, tank maintenance, or overall care provided to the fish and other aquatic creatures.

Similarly, the care of reptiles at Fish-A-Rama is called into question. One reviewer explicitly stated that they "feel bad for the fish and especially for the Retiles," further alleging that "the owner doesn't know anything about proper care for the fish or the reptiles." This is a severe accusation, suggesting a potential lack of knowledge or disregard for the specific needs of these animals. The reviewer urged the owner to "do proper research on reptiles to provide proper care," indicating observed deficiencies in their current husbandry.

In terms of services and products, Fish-A-Rama likely offers live fish and potentially live reptiles for sale, along with the associated supplies needed to care for them, such as tanks, filters, lighting, substrate, and decorations. The presence of a "tank in the middle of the shop dedicated to plants" suggests that aquatic plants are also among the offerings. However, a concerning aspect highlighted in a review pertains to the staff's knowledge, even regarding a seemingly healthy part of the store. When a customer inquired about the plants, the employee working reportedly had "no knowledge of what the plants were and had to look it up on a plant identifier app." This lack of basic product knowledge raises questions about the overall expertise and training of the staff.

Based on the overwhelmingly negative feedback regarding the store's cleanliness, the health of its animals, and the staff's knowledge, it is challenging to identify positive features from these reviews. The one potential positive mentioned was that the tank dedicated to plants "actually looked rather healthy." However, this was immediately followed by the negative experience with the staff's lack of knowledge about those plants. Therefore, based solely on the provided reviews, it is difficult to objectively highlight any strong positive features of Fish-A-Rama in its current state.

The reviews strongly suggest that Fish-A-Rama may be facing significant issues related to store maintenance, animal care, and staff training. Customers have expressed strong dissatisfaction, with one recommending that the shop "needs new staff or to be shut down" due to being "so yucky in there." Another reviewer explicitly stated they "will not be doing any business" and advised the owner to "please clean your store it's disgusting" and "hire someone that cares about the fish and reptiles that's knowledgeable." One customer even indicated they would "drive the extra to Ocala for a much nicer shop," highlighting the severity of their negative experience.

Given the critical nature of the feedback, it is highly unlikely that Fish-A-Rama is currently running any promotions that would be positively received by informed potential customers. Any attempt to offer discounts or special deals might be overshadowed by the significant concerns raised about the basic standards of cleanliness and animal welfare within the store. The immediate priority, according to the customer reviews, should be a thorough cleaning of the premises, a significant improvement in the care provided to the fish and reptiles, and ensuring that staff are knowledgeable about the products they sell.

In conclusion, based on the recent customer reviews available, Fish-A-Rama in Inverness, FL, appears to be a pet store facing serious challenges. The environment is described as unclean and the tanks housing animals as poorly maintained, leading to concerns about the health and well-being of the fish and reptiles. Staff knowledge, even regarding seemingly healthy products like aquatic plants, has also been called into question. Potential local users are strongly advised to consider the experiences shared in these reviews when deciding whether to visit Fish-A-Rama. The feedback suggests a need for significant improvements in store maintenance, animal care practices, and staff training before a positive recommendation could be made. No information regarding positive features or promotional offers could be objectively derived from the provided reviews.

Went into the shop looking to purchase shrimp... The tank had sooo many DEAD shrimp it was disgusting. Looked around for more options and each tank had several things dead in them, very poor quality tanks. Dirty and filled with algae. They had a tank in the middle of the shop dedicated to plants, which actually looked rather healthy but when I asked the person working, they had no knowledge of what the plants were and had to look it up on a plant identifier app... Overall, this shop needs new staff or to be shut down. It was so yucky in there ... I will drive the extra to Ocala for a much nicer shop.

I don't think you are in Business. I've been calling this store 10 times a day for two weeks nobody picked up the phone. That's crazy. As a small business you should be very greedy if you want to grow up. Every time I went to this store I bought at least for $100. That means, you lost a good customer. If you keep doing that trust me this store will be out of business because you don't care about customers that's very bad for a business.
