Unfortunately I had bought a snake here 4-5 weeks ago and got scammed! I messaged the original breeder and she was $150 on their site but here she was $211 I understand you need to make profit but still! They also had lied about her morph so I wasn’t getting what I paid for. Anyways when I got her they had told me they fed her the week before and when they gave me her feeding chart she hadn’t been fed for two weeks, this made my snake very stressed and she was looking for food and I had no idea till I checked! I do love my snake but I don’t think buying from them is great when you can get them their actual price elsewhere.

Welcome to Fins, Feathers, Paws & Claws

Fins, Feathers, Paws & Claws is a pet store located at 201 Station Rd, Quakertown, PA 18951, USA, serving the local community and those searching for a "Pet Store Near Me" in the area. As its expansive name suggests, this establishment endeavors to cater to a wide variety of pet enthusiasts, encompassing aquatic life (Fins), birds (Feathers), and traditional household pets like dogs and cats, as well as smaller mammals and reptiles (Paws & Claws). For direct inquiries, customers can reach the store via phone at (215) 536-1122 or through their mobile line at +1 215-536-1122.

The **environment** of Fins, Feathers, Paws & Claws, while not explicitly detailed in extensive online descriptions, can be inferred from its multi-animal focus. It is expected to feature distinct sections for various types of pets. For instance, there would likely be dedicated areas for fish tanks and aquariums, displaying a range of aquatic species. Similarly, bird aviaries or individual cages would house various avian pets, from smaller budgies to larger conures. Areas for small mammals like hamsters, guinea pigs, or rabbits, and terrariums for reptiles such as snakes, would also be anticipated. Maintaining a clean, well-ventilated, and appropriately humidified environment for each animal type is crucial for their well-being and is a standard expectation for such a pet store. The layout would aim to be navigable, allowing customers to easily browse pets and their corresponding supplies. Customer reviews, while varying in sentiment, do not directly comment on the physical cleanliness or general upkeep of the premises, leaving this aspect to individual observation.

The **services** and **goods for sale** at Fins, Feathers, Paws & Claws are designed to provide a comprehensive offering for pet owners. The store clearly sells a diverse range of live animals. Based on customer reviews, these include:

  • **Reptiles:** Specifically, snakes are mentioned as being available for purchase.
  • **Birds:** Budgies and pineapple conures are examples of birds purchased from the store, indicating a selection of avian companions.
  • **Fish and Small Animals:** While not directly specified in the provided reviews, the store's name "Fins...Paws & Claws" strongly suggests they also offer various types of fish and other small animals (e.g., rodents, ferrets) and their habitats.
In addition to live animals, the store would undoubtedly offer a wide array of **goods for sale** essential for pet care. This would encompass:
  • **Pet Food:** Specialized diets for various animals, including reptile food (e.g., feeder mice), bird seeds and pellets, fish food, and likely standard dog and cat food brands.
  • **Habitats and Enclosures:** Cages for birds and small animals, terrariums for reptiles, and aquariums for fish, along with all necessary accessories like lighting, heating elements, filters, and decorations.
  • **Bedding and Substrates:** Appropriate bedding materials for different animal types.
  • **Health and Grooming Supplies:** Products for maintaining animal health, such as supplements, basic medications, and grooming tools.
  • **Toys and Enrichment:** A selection of toys designed to provide mental and physical stimulation for various pets.
Beyond just sales, pet stores often provide invaluable advice on animal care, feeding, and husbandry, acting as a local resource for new and experienced pet owners alike. This advisory service is a key component of a full-service pet store.

The **features** of Fins, Feathers, Paws & Claws are highlighted by the contrasting customer experiences. On one hand, the store benefits from staff who are perceived as "super nice" and an owner described as "so knowledgeable." This positive feedback suggests a welcoming atmosphere and a source of expertise, particularly for bird enthusiasts, as evidenced by a couple who "absolutely love this store" and have had great experiences with their bird purchases. Their conure, in particular, is noted as being "very personable and cuddly and always looking for mischief," indicating well-socialized animals from the store. This strong customer service and apparently healthy animals are significant features that would draw patrons seeking new pets and reliable advice.

On the other hand, a critical review points to significant concerns regarding transparency and animal welfare, specifically concerning a snake purchase. This customer claimed to have been "scammed" regarding the price and the "morph" (genetic appearance) of the snake, stating they did not receive what they paid for. Furthermore, a crucial issue raised was the misinformation about the snake's feeding schedule, leading to the animal being "very stressed" due to not being fed for two weeks despite being told it was fed the week prior. This highlights a critical need for accurate information and consistent animal care practices. Such discrepancies in information and care can significantly impact a pet's well-being and a customer's trust. The contrast in reviews suggests that while some customers have excellent experiences, others may encounter issues related to animal information, pricing, and care consistency, which are important considerations for potential buyers. The store's feature, therefore, includes both areas of strength in customer relations and animal quality (for birds) and areas needing improvement in transparency and consistent animal husbandry information (for reptiles).

As for **promotional information**, the available reviews do not detail any specific ongoing promotions, discounts, or loyalty programs offered by Fins, Feathers, Paws & Claws. Like many local pet stores, their primary promotion likely stems from their diverse animal offerings and the service provided by their staff. Word-of-mouth recommendations, generated by satisfied customers, are crucial for a business of this type. Any specific sales, seasonal offers on particular types of pets or supplies, or events would likely be advertised in-store or communicated directly to customers. For the most up-to-date information on animal availability, pricing (including any potential discrepancies to be aware of), or current promotions, prospective customers are advised to contact Fins, Feathers, Paws & Claws directly using the provided phone numbers: (215) 536-1122 or +1 215-536-1122. Direct communication can help clarify concerns raised in reviews, such as pricing and animal history, before making a purchase.

In conclusion, Fins, Feathers, Paws & Claws in Quakertown, PA, is a comprehensive pet store aiming to serve a broad spectrum of pet owners with its wide selection of live animals and associated supplies. While it boasts knowledgeable and friendly staff and provides well-socialized birds, potential customers, especially those interested in reptiles, are advised to conduct their own thorough research and verify all information regarding animal origins, health, and care instructions to ensure a satisfactory purchase. The store's presence offers a local option for a "Pet Store Near Me" providing diverse pet needs.

My husband and I absolutely love this store. The owner is so knowledgeable and her staff are super nice. We’ve bought a budgie and pineapple conure from them and both have been great birds. Our conure is very personable and cuddly and always looking for mischief!

I visited the store for the first time in a little over a year and was surprised to see that they had gotten rid of all the fish they used to have. Not too disappointed because I could see they put in their efforts elsewhere. All of the animals I could see were happy and well fed. The store was very clean considering how many birds they have inside, and they have very fair prices for what they’re selling. I’m not sure if they’re under new management or a new owner, but it’s clear they care about the animals a lot and that was very nice to see.

I'm deeply saddened to report this, as I am an animal lover. However, the advice I received from this store regarding the care of my dragon was potentially fatal. They told me to maintain a tank temperature of 110-115 degrees, whereas my vet recommended 95-105 degrees during the day with humidity levels between 35-60%, and 60-70 degrees at night with humidity levels between 30-45%. The store advised using forest floor as a substrate instead of sand. My vet warned that if my dragon ingests a wood chip from the forest floor, it could be more fatal than sand. Additionally, forest floor retains moisture, creating excessively high humidity levels at night, which is unsuitable for dragons. Their natural habitat is sandy, and forest floor substrates are more appropriate for snakes and turtles. The store also mentioned that I wouldn't see my dragon's poop and suggested stirring the substrate every few weeks and changing it every 3-6 months. This advice shocked my vet, who emphasized the importance of scooping the poop every time my dragon goes and monitoring it for signs of health. Using the wrong substrate like forest floor means you won't see the poop because it’s not the correct flooring to use. I can clearly see and manage my dragon's poop appropriately. There were many other discrepancies between the store's advice and my vet's recommendations. If you decide to purchase a pet from this store, be aware that it comes without a warranty, and they may not know the age or sex of the pet, as was the case with mine. Always consult your vet for proper care instructions, despite the store's claim of having 40 years of experience, which my vet questioned. On a positive note, my dragon was inexpensive, the store was accurate about the night temperatures, and she is thriving now that I’m caring for her properly. In addition, they are a bit rude and try to make you look incompetent in front of others. I dislike speaking negatively about people or businesses, and I am sure there are positive aspects about this place too, but always consult your vet for the best care advice. I bought my dragon to save her and i feel like they might have tried to sabotage me or just have no idea how to care for dragons.
