Bill is not who you want to care for your birds or buy birds from. He jerked me around for 3 months with a bird i was trying to purchase. Still have screen shots of his messages. Also, found out yesterday he trimmed a friend of mines bird beak too short including his nails. Making him bleed. His shop is disgusting and I find the birds are in an unhealthy environment. It's dark, crowded, dirty and bird cages stacked on top of eachother. I've waited 8 months to post this review thinking it was just my own experience. However, after talking to several people on his ways, I've decided nows the time. He claims to be a professional. Fine, but you treat people horribly. If he responds to this I will share my experience via receipts.

When considering a pet store, especially one specializing in a specific animal, the environment is often a key concern for potential customers. Based on customer feedback, the depiction of the environment at Exotic Bird Ranch presents a mixed picture. One review describes the shop as "dark, crowded, dirty and bird cages stacked on top of each other," suggesting an environment that some might find concerning for the birds' well-being. This perspective indicates a less-than-ideal setting for housing and displaying birds, potentially impacting their health and the overall customer experience. However, it's important to note that perceptions of cleanliness and crowding can be subjective.
The services offered at Exotic Bird Ranch appear to extend beyond just selling birds. While direct sales of birds are implied, a significant aspect of their service, as highlighted by customer experiences, seems to revolve around bird care, training, and rehoming. One customer's experience vividly illustrates Bill's involvement in rescuing and fostering parrots. This suggests that the store, or at least its proprietor Bill, may offer expertise in evaluating birds, providing guidance on their diet, housing, and bathing, and facilitating the rehoming of birds in need. This could include temporary fostering arrangements until a permanent home is found. The willingness to come to a customer's home to assess birds and offer hands-on assistance, such as getting a bird to "step up" when it was previously considered aggressive, points to a level of dedicated and personalized service.
A key feature of Exotic Bird Ranch, particularly through the individual named Bill, appears to be his purported expertise and hands-on approach to bird care. One customer's glowing review describes Bill as "wonderful" and credits him with providing "life changing" education for their fostered parrots. This suggests that Bill offers valuable advice on various aspects of bird husbandry, helping owners understand and meet the specific needs of their avian pets. The willingness to provide correct food, larger cages, and even engage in bird training speaks to a comprehensive approach to avian welfare. This hands-on involvement in rehoming and providing ongoing support differentiates the store from a simple retail outlet.
However, the customer feedback also reveals a stark contrast in experiences, which is crucial for potential users of "Pet Store Near Me" to consider. While one review praises Bill's "kind heart" and effective intervention in a rescue situation, another customer expresses significant dissatisfaction. This individual recounts a frustrating 3-month period attempting to purchase a bird, characterized by being "jerked around." Furthermore, concerns are raised about Bill's professionalism regarding bird care, specifically mentioning a beak and nail trim that resulted in bleeding. This highlights a discrepancy in customer service and the perceived quality of care provided. It suggests that while some customers experience positive and helpful interactions, others may encounter difficulties or perceive a lack of professionalism.
Regarding promotional information, specific details about ongoing promotions or sales are not available from the provided reviews. However, the store's primary promotional appeal would likely stem from its specialization in exotic birds and the proprietor's direct involvement in their care and rehoming. For potential customers looking for a "Pet Store Near Me" with expertise in birds, the direct assistance and educational support offered by Bill could be a significant draw. The implied availability of various bird species for purchase, alongside related supplies, would also be a core offering.
In summary, Exotic Bird Ranch in Fort Collins, CO, is a specialized pet store focusing on avian companions. It offers a range of services that appear to include bird sales, expert advice on bird care, training, and rehoming assistance. The store's primary feature seems to be the hands-on involvement and avian knowledge of its proprietor, Bill, who has demonstrated a capacity for compassionate rescue and educational support. However, potential customers should be aware of the varied customer experiences, which include both highly positive accounts of dedicated care and concerning reports regarding customer service and bird welfare in the shop environment. It is advisable for interested individuals to contact the store directly to inquire about specific birds, services, and to assess the environment for themselves to ensure it meets their expectations for pet care.

May 08, 2025 · AshleyLovesLeaves S.I’m fostering two parrots after a family member passed away. I agreed to this reluctantly but my concern for the welfare of birds & their living situation needed immediate intervention. I spoke to 3 rescues. After several conversations, Bill came to my home to evaluate the birds. He spent more than an hour with the birds. I was told that one of the parrots was very aggressive & to watch out. Bill opened the cage door, put his hand in & asked the bird to step up. It did! He held it for 1/2 hour. The education about food, housing & baths, I received from Bill, was life changing for these birds. Bill came back later that day. He brought me the correct food & was able to take one of the birds for training & rehoming. Bill is coming back next week with a larger cage for the older bird. I’ll foster it until Bill can find her a forever home. I couldn’t have sound a better rescue. Bill is wonderful! Thank you Bill for your kind heart!
Dec 13, 2024 · Karen YovanoffMy wife and I have been working with Bill for a year now and we have become very educated and adopted a wonderful healthy bird. Thank you to the Bird Ranch. Bill really helped us to know the choices we had and wanted to know our situation to make sure our bird was the right choice for our home. His concern and care for the birds really made us comfortable going to him with any questions.
Dec 05, 2023 · Randy TroupWhen I inherited a McCaw from an elderly relative, I called Bill and asked if he could make a house call to trim the birds beak and nails since I knew I would never get him in a carrier. Bill came to my house and trimmed the bird then spent some time assessing the equipment and food I had. Also, gave me some great tips on handling. Side note: The bird is doing well. We have become great friends. He is allowing me to pick him up and talks to me constantly. Thank you, Bill!!!
Oct 27, 2024 · Julie MishlerVery knowledgeable, personable, and helpful! Bill really goes the extra mile to make sure the birds and the prospective new owners are a good fit. I would highly recommend anyone looking to add a feathered friend to their family that this is the first stop.
